- In this video we investigate the merits and issues with buying a Mechanical Chronograph from China, using my model from Sugess as a reference point.

Great video! I own 6 watches with the ST19 movement. My recommendation is to not wear a watch with this movement as a daily wearer. Wear it occasionally in rotation with your other watches. And definitely don't be constantly and aggressively winding it and running the chronograph. If you treat them gently, they should last a decent amount of time.
U should have gone with the sugess s438 in the blue double brushed dial in different directions that plays with the light. Or the proxima px1717 or px1715. Also the red star bullhead is a great one as well. Each of these are around $200 except the sugess which is around $160. I personally want the bullhead in the brown colorway and I am hopeful it will be in the sell starting on the 1st. All of these r available on AliExpress cheers
Excellent vid about the history of the ST19 line. For people interested in the most inexpensive automatic Swiss chronos, hunting for a discount on a grey market Tissot is probably the only way to find something under the 1000EUR/USD/pounds range.
Buy whatever watch you want from whatever country. Apple products, movies, food, etc are ok from China but for some reason watches are not.
St19 is one of the greatest movments ever along with the Seiko NH. These two movements have reaulted in the explosion of microbrand. BTW. That Sugess you recommend is a clone of a Zenith.
Thanks for the info
I’ve had a Seagull for a few months and love it. It looks great and keeps great time. The only criticism is the nato style strap, but now I have a decent leather strap it looks and wears great.
Your styling isn't that bad.
How often do people use a chronograph watch, in this smart watch age? New to watch collecting.
No. Not ever.
If it's a seagull movement? Absolutely NO! The columnwheel problem is still not solved by the company! STOP ADVERTISING SHIT VALUE!
Do you mean the reliability of them? I'm not advocating for any particular brand, just for clarity.
Coming from a person that has never owned the movement I’m sure lol. As long as ur not wearing it as a daily these movements r good and the only affordable automatic chronograph u can buy.
I swear the happiness I feel when #nkuwan uploads a video is beyond!!!!
