This is the instrument I have been looking for for all of my life.
Did you get it
Why have u not created it yourself ?
Me too, Martin. I’ve been looking for a more electric variant, but this make so much more sense. The sound speaks to the soul, huh?
Ditto. I need to try and make one... Somehow
ME TOO
His name is Nadaka. He lives in Portland, Oregon, USA. His website is ragamantra.com. See the caption above.
will i get this instrument from ragamantra
As he start playing taanpura, I got goosebumps
is that Daler Mehndi?
He is such a wonderful player. I still have cassette-tapes of him I found during a trip to India in the late 80's. I think he grew up in Auroville - What a charmed musical life!
Yes, he's from Auroville. Met him today and was lucky to listen to his mastery over this incredible instrument, which he crafted himself. What a genius! 💜
honestly i have never heard anything more beautiful in my life.
Swara mandal is awesome 😍 Any
The ragam is called Revathi in south Indian classical music ... Very rejuvenating ragam .. like the sound of the guitar. Divine!!...
Wonderful instrument, magically played.
The whole video just flown by!
Amazing work!
You can tell he spent so much time in India as he lost his accent 😂❤️
It sounds kinda German to me.
@@cowboytsundere3013 he has a little south indian accent.
he is one of the best musician i have come across
This hi-breed is definitely a complete instrument for expressing Raga with better playing comfort than any other conventional Hindustani instrument. Modified steel guitar has entered into mainstream hindustani classical arena long before and now this one is also destined for same.
The string that's off the fretboard is for playing djent.

Famtastic
the guitar engineering looked impressive. the sound didn't feel quite like Indian Ragas. Something major felt missing. It just sounded like guitar. The drone sound and table was in the right direction.
Jeet Ray I agree, he should use a slide or utilize bends because he is missing the meend sound that is so characteristic of Indian music
I agree. No westerners have the ability to recreate the true essence of Indian sitar. Best not meddle with the original.
Sounds silly.☝️🤪
He hasn’t a clue how beautiful the sitar is and how you use it! It’s all in the hand and touch not the other way round.
808 Music it's not a Sitar yeah.
Sitars can't imitate guitars either. Playing classical music of Europe on sitar would sound ridiculous too, I agree. Compared to sitar, this is inferior for Indian music, it's like if you tried to play a lute piece written by Bach with a sitar.
Not enough sliding
Put a Western man playing an ancient music and almost instantaneously new instruments pop out.
Electronicos Fantasticos
Likes a bit of Phrygian dominant. Sounds nice
really good , this instrument is an evolution of the shakti guitar of the great john mc laughlin !
No its not .yu cant compare this very bsic attempt at mimicing indian classical with john mc or shakti thats ridiculous
want this so bad haha. its all i want in an instrument
As a guitarist with a growing interest in Indian music and different tuning temperaments, just wow, what a beautiful instrument, it also sounds divine, thank you.
the mighty thing
SIR GREAT ---THE GEETA BEFORE MAHABHARAT---CAN U PLAY JUST LITTLE BIT OF MUSIC FOR FIGHT DURING MY WEB EPISODE NO 24--PLEASE SIR
Can someone please through a link to purchase it. Thanks
*_I believe the ancient Hindustanis/'Indians' somehow figured-out or intuited - or were 'taught'..... - the pristine vibration frequencies of the 'super-strings' from which our particular Universe is built ... what you are hearing here - is the mesmerizing symphonic harmonies of the most fundamental constituents of space-time...._*
~cool...greetings from 2 musicians (sitar & tanpura) from germany........(maria&harald,the nectar of the night)...~
❤❤❤
Depth of regga is soul
Groovy
Wah
Brilliant.. !
Only 16k views ? The world on internet today clearly has no music taste.
This is in teen-taal right ?
Nice
Tickles all of my musical desires...
Very similar to John McLaughlin's Shakti-era acoustic guitar, most likely this guitar is based on it.
He stands nowhere in comparison to McLaughlin.
Well, he has been influenced in early days from John and has played with Shakti band and has even released studio albums with members of shakti band
Sir this is great. May I know the name of the person who is playing.
Nice!
Does anyone know who the luthier is that built this and if they are available for sale?
Wow! What an instrument! Where do I place my order?
ragamantra.com.
