It's not advertised as beginner to assume YOUR personal experience. It's meant as a way to tell newcomers that this budget option might good for them. A solid platform to experiment on if you think you want to try out learning a good guitar

Been playing electric guitar since ‘96 and never owned nor played an acoustic before. I got mine thru Fingerhut about 5 years ago and I thought it as great. The only problem I had was with the bridge. After about 18 months, it wore grooves where the B and high E string cross it and that was after playing it for 30 to 60 minutes per day. I put a matchstick under it and that got another 12 months before I had to replace it; cost me a whole $1.98. The machine heads are really great too; never have a problem with it going out of tune. Other than that, it sounds amazing and the action is great; only slightly higher than my electric but didn’t affect my playing at all. Yeah, the top and back aren’t very thick but that doesn’t matter at all. I’ve played many solo and duo shows and have had no problem. The mic up very nicely. Would definitely recommend! 10 out of 10

The bass response seemed to be a bit low. The highs are shiny. It seemed to skew toward the treble end of the spectrum. If not having a fuller, richer sound will work for you, this guitar will get the job done. Also, if you're playing with other instruments, like a bass guitar, then having more treble response from the Jasmine will allow the bass to occupy the bass range without competing with the Jasmine (Jasmine takes the treble, Bass takes the bass.) Also, if you're practicing in a place like an apartment, where you don't want to disturb your neighbors, having less bass response could be an advantage. I think that bass travels through walls easier. Lastly, on lead guitar tracks, having more treble could allow the Jasmine to cut through a mix.

I kinda hated to part with it! It required no setup what so ever! It had a solid spruce top with rosewood fretboard and the reason it sounded great was because it didn't have gloss maple with rosewood back and sides! I was told after I gave it away that they made 12 before they went to cheaper wood and they also made 6 acoustic electric and 9 12 string! It sounds better than the ones before they went to the cheaper made models! Someone offered my daughter 600 dollars and she turned it down because it was a present from me! I bought a 2nd-hand Walden D351 for $140… a bit of tlc, some new strings and a couple of hours setting it up - and it’s a superb instrument. You’re absolutely right about the cost of guitars - I have more expensive beasts and they’re a dream to play - but I have the Walden in my study, next to the PC - and it gets played many times each day! It’s true that the best guitar for you is the one you keep picking up - regardless of cost - even though I’d love a top of the range Martin or Ovation!

Your right, and they seem to change from guitar to guitar. Yours is definitely sapele. I had one that was Agathis, more of a wavy pattern in the woodgrain. I have played one that looked like yours and to be honest it actually did seem more resonant but could have been strings difference etc. But they most definitely use different types of woods, probably whatever happens to be more convenient at the time. Nato is a decent hardwood and is used in lieu of mahogany alot in cheaper guitar
