The way every Superman/Bizzaro punch would send them flying reminded me of the amazing fights from man of steel. It’s always cool to see Superman being “super” on screen

So John Henry’s Helmet and Hammer were shattered and his chest unit was demolished. I think we’re gonna get some upgrades to make the Steel suit more comic accurate before the finale.
its too bad he couldnt get the steel suit he had in the first season that he sent to the D.O.D. to try to talk to general lang, the helmet is damaged on it, but the rest of the suit should still be fine to use

This show is very good at straddling the line of how powerful Superman is and his actual weakness/limits. The acting from Tyler is also brilliant where you see the guilt and feeling of failure without saying a word. It is in the comics time and again that while there are people who believe Superman is a god with all his powers there are limits to what he can actually do. This scene is important because that is literally what people would say when Superman is a little to late or just missed a mark on something. That is why his "private" life is so important to him at times when he has to remember he can't be everywhere and do everything.
OTOH this show has done really well at demonstrating that Superman is watching (well, listening) over the whole world, and ready to go at a moment's notice wherever on the globe he's needed.

The way Natalie turned around and yelled “NO” and all she had to say was “You’re superman”, and the look on Clark’s face and earlier in the episode how John told him he needs backup. Clark’s face says it all regret, shame, and defeat. Honestly John is such a noble guy wearing the suit knowing it’s power is depilated and still wearing it to help superman. He didn’t deserve this. hopefully this sets off Clark to fight better and angrier since he’s proven he fights better that way.

This show is way too good to be true. Like man, 2 episodes full of action. And great action at that. Best DC/superhero show ever made imo.

maybe it's the music producer in me but i instantly geeked out at the fact that they play the main theme in reverse when showing the bizarro/superman fight scenes. the little things like that in this show matters so much.
I noticed that too, genius move by Dan Romer, he's put it in a minor key and played it backwards.

This episode was amazing. I can imagine Superman bringing out his estranged brother to fight Bizarro. Superman, his son and Morgan Edge fighting Bizarro would be intense.
I really like this Superman...he struggles; he has setbacks...makes him VERY relatable. He's more Clark Kent than any other actor's interpretation of Superman.

Sure, people call him overpowered, but only because they keep throwing villains that aren't his at him. Like that time he owned Bane.
But he struggles with his own villains. He gets injured by Doomsday, tricked by Luther, trapped by Braniac, pranked by Mr Mxyzptlk, beat up by Metallo, kidnapped by Darkseid (he is more of a League villain though), etc.
@@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770 Yes and no. Most of those threats except Doomsday and Darkseid only really challenge Superman the 1st time he encounters them. He usually can trivialize threats like Metallo and Lex can only really screw with Superman more than overpower or trap him. Superman really doesn't work well when he fights people because it usually just ends up being "ok I'm done holding back" then he wins. Watching Superman try to solve several problems at once that strain him hammering in the fact that even Superman can't do everything are the only stories I care to read anymore. Superman's limitations are far more interesting than his strengths.

How crazy would it be if that diamond was the Heart of Darkness, the same one that has Eclipso trapped in it. Also Bizarro on TV is usually some goofy copy of Superman but this one is deadly dangerous and its wonderful!

I knew this was going to end badly for Anderson’s team. Clark was right, they were not ready. But the fights were awesome between Bizarro and Clark. I felt like was watching a movie when they fought each other.
That's why Clark didn't want them involved. He knew that since he himself was struggling with all his powers to battle Bizarro that 3 barely adult kids with only a fraction of his powers each wouldn't even survive. Anderson assumed Clark didn't want help because he didn't approve of the team, when in reality Clark was just trying to protect them. And now two are dead because Anderson cared more about proving Clark wrong than actually listening to reason.

These visual was just amazing and this looks so good when they fight.
Kinda scary how Bizzaro tore through Anderson's team. And then he completely destroyed Steel with one punch. Really shows how much they all need Superman, despite what Anderson said.
The pattern seems so far to be that during initial encounters Superman loses the fight, but when his anger gets up some at the next encounter then he wins handily.
Tbf. Steel suits was basically paper mache at this point. No protection, no available energy. He might as well have been wearing a regular suit of armor.
He had no business being out there in his condition but he's a hero and wanted to help his friend.
I love when Sam Lane says "You're the most powerful being on this planet" to Superman. My boy getting the respect he deserves 😉
Bizzaro for most fights he had with Superman he's actually more powerful than Superman because of him being a kryptonite junkie. Him being under a yellow sun wasn't even weakening him because of all of his kryptonite abuse. And Anderson's team was just a bad idea because they all have individual Superman powers. Tagg was the only one with a remote chance of surviving because of his speed. And speed is a fundamental requirement to beat somebody like Superman. But even then Tagg isn't really a speedster so if Superman hadn't showed up he still probably would've died.

That just goes to show how much Superman was holding back when he fought John back in the first Season. A single uppercut from Bizarro fucked him up really badly (with his suit on, obviously).
Not to mention that Bizarro was supposed to be vulnerable to yellow sunlight, the same way Superman is to kryptonite. But... eh.
Realizing the cg isn't as strong as it was Season 1, but that's okay. Story is still great and solid, great episode

He had just been drained of power like a bit earlier... so he was a tiny bit weaker.

First of all Supergirl has nothing on this show. Second, him laying there unconscious with his suit busted reminded me of War Machine from Avengers when he crash landed from Vision’s blast. Third, definitely Iron Man vibes. Lastly, the hammer is like Storm Breaker! 😄

You must not have seen the other CW shows then. Arrow had so many horrific writing problems but it had much better choreographed and thought-out fights with multiple participants than 3 dudes on a flat plane exchanging blows a total of 4 times. The graphics are certainly better than any other CW show, but that doesn't make the fight actually good. Compared to fights like Oliver vs Slade in Season 2 of Arrow this fight has very little going for it. If we're talking fights between metas specifically, I'd say Barry vs Eobard during Crisis on Earth-X was a step above this, too, even if the CGI isn't nearly as good.

When Superman has to fight, it's always against somebody who would wipe out those other CW heroes in probably just a few seconds. That means the fight is at a whole different level.

S03,6,7 were mediocre seasons and mostly had plain and simple fights. Even stargirl did better than that with actual creativity, stuntwork etc.

But I'm not the person who started comparing the fight scenes. The OP Is the one who forced the comparison between this fight scene and other CW show fight scenes, not me. And I'm sorry but even if these opponents are fighting on a totally different level, that isn't an excuse for the choreo to just...not really be there. You can do SO MUCH with two Supermen fighting each other, and this just isn't that.
So...yeah, if I'm forced to make the comparison by SOMEONE ELSE'S COMMENT, Arrow has several fights throughout its run that are just straight-up more interesting than this. Even Flash has battles between speedsters that get a lot crazier than this despite a more limited VFX budget and capabilities.
Half expected Natalie to say "1st my mother died because of you, now my dad..." Natalie has not had that my mother is married to the man that killed my mother PTSD moment since coming to this earth.

1: Zod was actually committing most of the collateral damage. Not Clark.
2: Clark was barely keeping up, he frankly spent a good chunk of the fight getting his ass kicked. Any attempt to lead Zod away could have given the guy enough of an opening to kill him, and then everyone else.
3: He couldn't just cover Zod's eyes, heat vision as we see does hurt Kryptonians. His hand would have burned and Zod would have broken free.
There was no easy way out for Clark in Man of Steel. He was a rookie, on his first day of the job as Superman and facing a guy every bit as powerful as him who was in the middle of a psychotic breakdown.
It wasn't going to end well.
P.S. Clark straight up executed a version of Zod with kryptonite in the comics, and it wrecked him emotionally. Just like Cavill's Clark was wrecked by having to kill Zod.
It's not like this is without precedent.

And one more thing.
It wasn’t even “half the city”. Several blocks were demolished by Zod’s ship, then a couple other buildings were taken down in his fight with Superman.
That’s it. Most of Metropolis was still standing for miles around.

Henry Cavill's superman was great but this version shows the accurate superman in the comics and how powerful he can be. Overall both superman are great in there own rights.
