    Single Mum also.
    Intensity... I hear ya! ;)
I'm not sure it would be better if he were in school though..... I took him out aged 8, he is now 12, School was so intense.
Getting him there was a struggle, bringing home a depressed child was painful and his tantrums were horrendous. So hard to deal with alone, with limited time to talk through his issues.
Now, as a pre teen, he sometimes explodes with emotions and grumpy behavior but we are so close and able to chat about how he feels. We both understand the need for our own space and time alone.
I feel sure if he was influenced by other teens he would be sulking in his room slagging me off to his "supportive" teen friends on snapchat and stomping out slamming the front door as I have seen his school friends do.
I am so greatful I can ask him if he wants some space to do a work out or have a walk and then come back to make up later when his thoughts are in order.
I know this is the right way to teach him how to handle relationships in the future.
I wish my mum had had the time and energy to do similar with me. The world is very scary out there for them and no child should feel so misunderstood that they would need to run into it alone.

You did the right choice. "School" these days is a factory of future alcoholic, drugged and suicidal teens, specially in Ireland...

If I were to have a child I would be interested in home schooling. Simply because I want my child to have a Catholic education. Sadly, the Cathecism has not been taught in Irish Catholic schools since the 1970s. So we have two generations now of ala carte Catholics. Hence 66*% of the voting public voted for abortion. Between the media, their ignorance of what abortion actually is, and lack of proper moral instruction, the public had no real guidance. Plus, they now want to bring in an extremely explicit sex education programme to both primary and secondary schools. No thanks!
