Savor every moment in your life my friends. Before you know it they will be doing a timeline story on this very year.
It’s always jarring to hear a song being featured for throwback Thursday to realize it’s 5+ years old and you could’ve sworn it was a year old at most 👴🏾
@@gphjr1444 we are here for such a short. Of time it is unbelievable. Believe me make the most of it all.
I was 36/37 that year.

For real!!! Same here!!!
I miss the 80's early 90's. But time, it just loves to tick away lol
90's was so awesome. I almost feel sorry for people who didn't live through it.
my god Althos I have been wishing I could escape back to the 1990's in a time machine!
Exactly !! One exciting, magical ride !!!
Peace and bless
No, the 90s sucked.

I can't believe 1996 was 25 years ago.... I feel so old, I was 27 at the time.
I was 26 !!! Wow
I was 22
Shit, I was 14-15 at the time. 😭😭😭
Two years before I was born
1996 was 9 years before I was born
I remember 1996. If you were alive you just could feel that that year was special. So much was happening
It really was!
It really was, the 90s were awesome
@Shae Fox Yeyy, 1996 was also the year I was born and this comment makes me feel a little special. We're 24-25 now. Time flies by so fast
I was a senior in high school in 1996 totally different world now
I started kindergarten in 1996. most of my memories of that year are based on that :)
The late 80's and all the 90's timelines so far have been extremely nostalgic for me. The 90's were an incredible time filled with great music, movies, and sports. Please keep em coming.
Me to man!
My daughter was born in 96. Sadly she passed away 20 years later, but I enjoyed watching what I missed, since I was happily, blissfully unaware what went on that year!
@wendywarrior2264, I am sorry to read about your daughter. What did she die of?
Wow I graduated high school in 96 and it doesn't seem possible it's been 25 yrs since some of these events happened...it really was an amazing year!
Same here 🇬🇧🏴
Same!
Yup me too.
Same here
Me too, 1996 was my graduation year from high school as well. Which is why I remember 1996 rather fondly. :-)
That Aaron Burr commercial has lived rent free in my mind since 1996
Whenever we're low on milk, I utter, "Aaron Burr", to myself in a muffled voice. It's like muscle memory now.
I say it all the time still too!! Lmfao!!
Especially with all the renewed interest in Burr and Hamilton thanks to the musical.
I remember the first time that I saw it! It would make me so frustrated for that poor guy and yet, I would laugh historically 😂
Lmao every time I make a peanut butter sandwich 😂
I wasn't a teenager yet in 1996, but I remember a lot of this. Especially those commercials. Seeing the N64 took me back to those afternoons at Toys R Us, with those seemingly endless aisles of games with little tags you had to take to the counter, and all those wonderful game demos... Everyone takes 3D gaming for granted these days, but back then, it was something magical. The Unabomber capture was by far the biggest news story. I spent the last two weeks of June at my cousins' house in Bakersfield, and we all went down to Los Angeles to try the newly-opened Jurassic Park ride. They had a gift store right next to the ride, and I bought brand new editions of Jurassic Park and The Lost World books. I haven't been back to Universal Studios - and LA, for that matter - since. I got watch Independence Day in a theater on a bright Sunday afternoon, on the way home from church on July 7th. I got to see a double feature of Mars Attacks!/Star Trek: First Contact in December. It was at night, and it the latest I'd ever stayed out to see a movie until Titanic the next year. There also were several cool LEGO sets in 1996; the Armada Flagship is sitting on a shelf right above my head as I type this. It was so long ago, it feels like some other life.
Morgan
I hope he makes a 2000s version. THAT would be a nostalgia trip for me
Facts
Well i hope they will do the Timeline series for the 2000s after they did for 1970s.
I'm a 1996 baby, and it definitely looks like an iconic year for music, games and movies!
Lol I turned 11 in sept of that years and Meh depends on what you like. It was all about pop music for years and years. And it started around 96 lol. But we also got alot of good shit in other genres.
Something about that year was iconic
Samesies!! 😁
97 98 and 99 were even better years!
Its only special because of us '96 babies
On my personal timeline, 1996 is peak 1990s. Age 15/16 and not a care in the world.
i feel you. was moving to a new town at 15 and the world was opening up...good times man...good times

I was the same age. It was a great time.
Timeline is the gift that keeps giving. I don’t know how often it’s released but every time an episode appears on my timeline, everything has to stop. Top Show.... PS. The Duracell advert was crazy...
WWF debuts of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, & Mick Foley (Mankind). While Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, & Scott Hall form the New World Order in WCW.
Timeline is a basic sunday need along with my coffee now lol
Who needs Dateline? when we have Timeline!
I graduated high school that year, moved out of my parents house, was poor as hell and happy at the same time. Nothing but great memories from that year for me.
I remember my brother coming home from a party with Tool’s Ænima after it came out. Told me to listen to it and I could keep the CD. I spent the rest of the day listening to that album with headphones, watching the ceiling move with the music. I was 14 and didn’t even smoke weed then.
As a great man once said no one can turn back the hands of time looking back at our youth and nostalgic moments we have to enjoy these timeline throwbacks a glimpse back into our childhood I wish all but happiness and success
Everything but happiness and success? Gee, I already suffer that without the extra hex, thanks.
To think I was 9 years old in 1996, the passage of time spares no one
I was a swimmer back in 1996
I wasn't born for 3 more years

I was twelve years old and in my first secondary school year (I'm in the UK).
I was 10.
Pocket Monsters debut in Japan of that year but we know they gonna cover that in the 98 episode which will be known as pokemon
Just out of college, newly married to a naval officer, stationed in Honolulu, no kids yet. Jetting off to outer islands for weekend getaways, flopping on the beach right out my back door, cookouts, girl’s nights in Waikiki, tourist stuff with the endless stream of visitors from back home, lol. It was hard to be so far from home, but we had way too much fun. Good times.
This is going to be great. What an awesome year in gaming and music. I was 15/16 and remember having an N64 and PS1. Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and Mario 64 blew my mind.
96 definitely had some of the best music!
I was 17 and had my wisdom teeth surgery, and my boyfriend brought over his new ps1 for me to play lol
I was 8/9 and it was a great year on of my favorite for gaming and music remember playing Sony PlayStation for the 1st time.

Word. Best year in the 90s to me.
Why does nostalgia always make me feel like I’m going to cry? It hurts and I don’t like it. What’s wrong with me lol
It's the ol'days of not the pressure of adult hood. It sucks lol
This series is sugar coated BS! Pro Israel, anti black, pro American imperialism. Apparently Crack just appeared in black neighborhoods
Getting old sucks me friend. That’s why it makes me wanna cry. And the good ol days of being a child with zero responsibilities, which goes back to getting old sucks. Man getting old sucks. Lol
its because you miss it!!
Everything
25 years ago already, holy shit where does the time go
God I love this series. Wish every episode was longer. Around 45 to 50 minutes would be sufficient! :)
It feels good to know the Weird History crew realizes how amazing Tool's AEnema is.

I’m so lucky to have experienced every year of this great decade. Going to be sad when this 90s series ends. Almost as sad as when the 90s themselves ended.

The 90s were great for getting a job. Remember going for an interview for a few jobs. During the interview it was when can you start. Today jobs are far more difficult to get! Not helped by this pandemic.
I went on a tour in LA called dearly departed in the 90s. We went to famous houses and drove by George Burns house ( he was still a live at that time) I remember the tour guide saying if the light in that room is on that means George is awake. He didn’t come out and greet us but the guide said he has done it before.
7:06 I met George Burns in Las Vegas around 1988 or 89 - I was a little kid and barely remember it but my mom was instantly star struck and got his autograph.
She was a single mother and I remember she had to pawn that autograph to pay the bills - and yes, we went to the Gold and Silver Pawn which is on the show Pawn Stars years before it became infamous.
Go on! lol that story gets more and more interesting. :)
The 90’s was the best decade. Miss them times. I think the First UFC was in 1993 👍
It was in 1993
*1993
It was the best time... I wanna go back but I was kid then 😄best time of my life
I remember watching all those first UFC’s on VHS with my buddies and just thinking, “ how is this legal?”
90s weren’t the best, it was friggin boring.
The summer before my Senior year. Independence Day was a huge. Fond memories. Thanks Weird History.
Happy Father’s Day!
Yeah i still remember when that film came out. The first pictures i saw was the shots of one of the huge spaceships appearing over the sky of New York and i could hear my jaw dropping cuz i had NEVER seen anything like this before. Absolute amazing cinema. I miss that 90s pathos and holy cow the film aged amazingly well. Especially its mix of practical VFX and early CGI. The production team went to the boundaries of technical possibilities AND beyond.
I remember how excited I was when I went to see Independence Day, man what a let down lol
I remember what I was doing for most of these events. I can't believe Fargo came out in '96. Timeless classic.
1996 was the best year of my life everything about that year was just amazing
Mike Tyson became the heavyweight champion of the world for the second time in 1996
Yeah, he beat our frank bruno for the WBC title.
In 1997, he bites Evander Holyfield's ear. I wish Weird History mentions that when he released 1997.

The backyardigans did NOT come out in 96 lol
Wow what a year! I was 15/16 and watched Independence Day at the movies 3 times!! So many memories from that year! As an Australian seeing the footage about Martin Bryant made me terribly upset even all these years later ... I'm glad we got rid of so many guns.
Lost my mom this year😭, though I had my dad a number of years afterwards. Take my word, kids, appreciate your parents while you still have them. No matter your age, life is never the same when one, let alone both, are gone.

The 90's was a much simpler time, wasn't it?
Not really, but I can understand how it feels that way.

I feel the same, but lots was going on during that time, not all good. But the fact that we didn't have as much access to the internet, no social media shoved down our throats at all time, made things feel very much simpler. And I miss that feeling.
