The flag, apple pie, baseball, football, our military, cheeseburgers, and John Wayne. Can't get anymore American than that! I just knew you would do this vlog, seeing how you showed a street named after him in your previous video, your enthusiasm for him, and your video of the Wild Goose. Love that Maureen O'hara was there to commemorate the occasion.
Great to see museum dedicated to John Wayne.A lasting tribute, that his films are shown every year around the world on television.
I would probably never get to see this awesome museum if you hadn't vlogged it, Jordan. John Wayne chose his film roles wisely and well. I remember crying when he won his Oscar. Thanks for your wonderful presentation.
My house mate Irena loves John Wayne. R I p John. Jennifer is still singing and doing a great job. God bless her. I love Runaway June.
I always loved Randolph Scott more as a western star, but you can't deny Wayne made some incredible movies. "The Searchers" is probably the greatest western ever. The house reminds me of Henry Fonda's birth place in Nebraska.
Great seeing the John Wayne Museum. They did a great job on it. The memorial rock is amazing. Thank you for vloging John Wayne’s birthplace and museum. He was one of my favorite actors.
The wild goose tour is how I connected with your channel Jordan, excellent vlog, good job. What a cool museum for fans to see. Thank you Jordan. RIL John Wayne, you left many films for people to enjoy
This was such a treat. My husband had most of Wayne's movies on VHS tapes and watched often. He would have loved this! Thank you for a lovely trip down memory lane.
My morning has been made! The Duke captured my interest when I was a small child. How wonderful that Maureen O’Hara was still with us to help dedicate the museum!!! Loved the Wild Goose ashtray and the daily planner.
We were there 7 years ago when they were building this museum. Visited the house where he was born. We were told he weighed 11 lbs!!! My husband kept looking at the statue and he swears the rifle is a real one. My husband still drinks coffee from the mug we got. Love John Wayne, I think we own almost every movie he made, even the earlier ones where he was "singing".
This is very cool Jordan! Thanks for taking your viewers along on your trip!!!!!!
I have never been, but I will be going for sure. My mom loved John Wayne. "Pilgrim" My dads middle name was Marion. I'm so glad you came to Iowa and saw it's not just corn fields. Thank you so much. Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤🦁
When we moved to Irvine California and my dad got a job as security director and personal security for J. Robert Fluor at Fluor Corporation there. Ross McClintock was the partner there, and I believe chairman or president of the company. That's how my dad became an acquaintance of John Wayne, who named his character after his friend McClintock. He became a rancher up in Indio, California and that's when he took my dad, mom, sister and i to visit John Wayne at his house in Palm Desert. He was sick from his cancer at the time. I was 6... and I don't remember much besides from what my dad told me about that day. I wish I had been older and had my own memory of it. My dad had actually met John Wayne before, when my dad was in the Secret Service, when Governor Reagan, Vice President Agnew and Frank Sinatra played golf together. And it's kind of like the... 'small world'...life is sometimes.
Good to see Iowa getting some attention. It isn't just a 'drive through' state.
WELL SAID!
John Wayne is my all-time favorite actor. Thanks for sharing this. I love how you share all the information. Great vlog!
You have a patriotic heart, John Wayne is quite the man. Loved by many, emulated by boys in their youth with cap guns and cowboy hats. Thanks for showing us this
So INCREDIBLE!!! Just what I wanted to see! You brought back great memories of watching and loving John Wayne movies with my mom who LOVED The Duke!! Thank you for my sunglasses vlog without the sunglasses Lol!! Great job!
Awesome place to share with us today! This is one of those vlogs I can actually get my husband to sit down long enough to watch with me. We love our John Wayne movies!
I knew you couldn’t come to Iowa & not vlog this! He was friends with gpa, & shared that he sadly was not a proud Iowan. Gpa took Dad on a job about age 5(he was an electrician) & John Wayne stuffed his pockets so full of hard candy, Dad couldn’t sit. Of course he also had inscribed autographed pictures & stories for days!
Everyone loves "The Duke"! So cool to see and I didn't realize this museum was here! As always, thank you Jordan!!
He is the one entertainer that I cried when I heard he had passed.
Absolubtly loved the vlog Jordan, what a fantastic place, a true Hollywood star, the bust of John Wayne at the beginning was amazing, John Wayne's films take me right back to being a little kid with my dad, precious memory's , thankyou so much, really appreciate your vlogs, so we'll done x
Nice! Wow, to see Clint in the same picture with john, never seen that one before! It was said John resented Clint for taking westerns into a more violent approach. Would have been fun seeing them in the same movie! ..Also Maurine O'Hara was a class act all the way, for her donating her things to this museum.
Knew I'd like this one before I even watched it! I remember being 13 years old and meeting Mr. Wayne at the Bicentennial 4th of July parade in Cody, Wyoming. Hats off to you, Jordan
From an Iowa native: I am SO enjoying your Iowa vlogs! These are all amazing places that we’re very proud of. Very well done and so pleased you took the time to visit. I’ve been following your channel for nearly a year and my kids love watching with me too! We dance to your theme songs LOL! Hope you’re able to do one on the Surf Ballroom someday. As a fellow Buddy Holly fan I know you’d be in awe like I was when I visited. Best wishes and please keep doing what you do!
Jordan this was a most excellent vlog. Like thousands of others I really liked John Wayne and the characters he portrayed. I thought he should have gotten an Oscar for “The Searchers “ but loved “True Grit” also. I’m glad you showed us this museum. His last movie was great and had a lot of great quotes. One of the best: John Bernard Books:
“I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.”
Your creative intros are humorous and adorable. Btw, they say that in the 1940’s Griffith Park had a hidden zoo and to that although a little off the beaten path, the.cages and pathways can still be found. Do you think you might do a vlog episode on this?! Hope so. Take good care.
Awesome. Jordan I enjoyed this vlog you just get better and better and you were great at the beginning so that says a lot. I can't wait to show my dad this vlog
I like you Jordon, absolutely live these types of museums. I feel like I'm a little kid left alone in a lolly shop.
Your "Wild Goose" boat. Unbelievable.
Once again, Thank you for a great vlog.
I'm really enjoying the journey with you.
Love this stuff!! I probably love it because I am an oldster but I enjoy the past, present and look forward to the future!! Thanks Jordan!! So thankful I found your channel, opened my eyes to so amazing places that I probably won't visit but that is okay!! I can see them through you!! I enjoy living!!
I am a huge John Wayne movie fan. As you walked through and pointed out costumes, I said to myself, yep, I have seen that, I have seen that.....ect. I have a whole shelf in my office full of John Wayne DVDs. That is a cool museum. I will put that place on my bucket list if I ever make it to Iowa. Until then, thanks for the awesome tour, as always!
Thanks so much for doing this vlog Jordan! My daughter took me here for a surprise when we took a trip out west 2 years ago. He has been my favorite actor since I was a young teenager. It is such an incredible place and to be able to see some of his wardrobe and personal items was the highlight of our trip!
That is one of the most awesomest museums I've ever seen especially with John Wayne so awesome thank you mr. Jordan the lion
Brings back my child hood days. Broke my heart when he died
Very cool. I’ve always wanted to go to Iowa. I have Italian family that came here throughout the late 1890s-1920s to work in a coal mine camp. Im sure the camp is long gone but I want to see the history. Very cool Jordan thanks for this
Another great vlog Jordan love watching your channel. I am a huge John Wayne fan and so was my grandpa. I always wanted to take my grandpa to this museum but never got the chance to. I hope to go there myself someday. Always look forward to seeing your next vlogs
I loved this guy. He still is a big part of how I deal with people and do business. he was loyal to all who knew him and I try to be the same.

My great uncle worked on the set for Mclintock and he knew John pretty good. John gave some people a coffee mug that said "Mclintock". My mother still has that mug.
Mark Hewitt cool!
@@scottieburnett5606, I know right!
@Mark Hewitt👍
He was my Dad's favorite actor. Thanks for a great video, Jordan!
I am a boy from the Fifties/Sixties and always seen my father and John Wayne as the truth Americans in my life. Both, portrayed hard working and 100% American Patriots...
Never knew this existed Jordan!! Thank you! Great research and presentation as usual!
Jordan if you ever go back, go in the fall. Iowa is such a beautiful state in the fall. I lived in Winterset one summer back in 1982 when the leaves start changing colors its really nice. They have the covered bridge festival there,, Pammel State Park, and the people are great. When I got to go through the museum it was just the little house they had a few movie set articles donated by the family. Thank you for sharing brought back some great memories.
That’s the new Museum, we went to the old one several times and took relatives from Germany there!
Love his 1972 Pontiac station wagon, and for it to be a 48 year old classic it still looks so clean and polished like brand new.
I have never watched a single Western or John Wayne movie in its entirety yet I really liked this vlog.
I was such a huge fan. He was my hero when I was little. Supposedly my grandmother got me his address while he was sick. I got an autograph but over the years I doubted it. I had know way to know if it was authenticate. Just looking it at the signature it could have been but over time the photo withered away. The memories !
Loved this True Grit is one of my all time favorite movies.
I went back when it was opened maybe a year or two later but I cant believe everything that they added we also stopped at the restaurant that Clint Eastwood filmed in just downtown winterset and the Roseman Bridge is a must see to. I'll have to revisit this museum again.
Beautiful video, Jordan. Love John Wayne
