They were actually the first family of soul! My friends Crystal W. Ernestine W. & Ghita W. (No relation to each other) introduced the 5 Stairsteps and Cubie to me they allowed me to hangout with them when they did the NY Apollo & Sugar Shack in Boston. Crystal W. Was The Stairteps Fan Club President. I was a member and Crystal W. made sure we all got to meet and actually hang out with them. That motivated me to start The Jackson 5 Fan Club and make sure the members got to meet the Jackson 5 and talk to them on the phone. Those were fun days! Rest In Peace Cubie Burke, Clarence Burke, James Burke & Clarence Burke Sr. Thank you for the many memories. Shout out to Keni Burke & Alohe Burke.

I always loved this song and played it oftern. Those were the days before we could chase lyrics down easily. Thus, I didn't catch all of the words. The sentiments expressed by Sly and Li'l Sister are truly illuminating. Thanks Clarence; great performance !
