The Middle Fork Swan River 4WD trail follows the river up its valley through picturesque pine forest and onto the high alpine tundra between Whale Mountain and Wise Mountain. From the high saddle, there are spectacular views with Breckenridge Ski Resort visible to the west, and the iconic Red Cone descent to the east.

This whole area is off the chain !! After 3 years I've now ran all these trails and linked up many in a day from red cone, radical hill, s.o.b hill of course the swans, but there are several side trails I have not done.
Still more work to do this season. Explore the sides. 🤣

Waypoint 12 -that narrow ledge with the drop off on the right, has this been passed by wider half ton pickups? I have an F150 thinking about this route, but Im about 10in wider than the Tacoma.

Best thing to do is log into our site (Link in description) and ask the question on the page. There you will get the person who made the video and wrote the review which they know the trail. They should be able to assist you in answering your question. Link is: www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/1940-middle-fork-swan-river

I ran this trail in a F-150 no problem. A F-150 on 35s is just as wide as a Jeep Rubicon on 35s.

Take only pictures, leave only....chunks of your tires, like most trails in summit.... it's still worth it 🤙

Not recommended unless you have it lifted and stout tires and plates.
