Iirc the reason Diablo is so afraid of Rimuru dismissing him is cause before he met Rimuru he was very listless and bored. Ever since he found out about Rimuru he has seen some very intriguing, mysterious, and new things that he otherwise never would have seen and would have continued living a life of boredom. He doesn’t want to lose his only opportunity to be a part of the new and interesting things that happen around Rimuru.

The black demon lineage, who Diablo is the progenitor of, is known for their pursuit of anything they find interesting instead of strength, which is different from the other demon lineages which only value strength. Diablo is simply interested in the “truth” of the tensura world and believes that his only chance at finding that truth is by following Rimuru. If Rimuru ever dismisses him, he will lose that golden opportunity which is why he held a grudge against Beretta for getting summoned before him.
I roughly remember that Diablo also wants to know what's the thing that Isekaing people in to their world.

I like the small details like the demon hunter immediately understand how powerful Diablo is because he's casually saying Guy, and Tesstarosa's primordial name, while the saints (who are not well versed in demonology) didn't know it was a huge deal.
For context : Demons aren't allowed to speak of other demons name that rank higher than them and since Primordial Demons are the highest rank of all demons, that means only fellow Primordials are allowed to address each other casually like this, everybody else have to address them as lords or something of similar stature.

No other characters has been shown to change characters they name as much as rimuru. The reason why guy crimson is so strong is because he was given a name by valdorras older sister. The same valdorra rimuru consumed at the beginning and only got strong from then on out.

They are permanent decreases in magicules. So if Rimuru lost half of his capacity just by naming Diablos he is definitely weaker.
