    To clarify some things:
    1. The holy hand grenade was exclusive to older mobile and 3ds.
    2. The arch demon could only drop crystals and the crystal storm on 3ds, on console it can only drop the demon scythe at a 2% rate. (different from the demon's 2.86% chance to drop it)
    3. Arch wyverns could only drop shadow keys on the 3ds version.
The 3ds version of terraria is an anomaly.
Also if you're going to leave a reply about how "the arch demon and arch wyvern also have those drops on mobile" 15 PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY TOLD ME, PISS OFF.
Is it really that hard to check if someone's already told the original commenter about the thing that you want to write a reply about?
P.S. 2023 Gulliblepikmin here. If the massage above added in a previous edits seems quite hostile to you, that's because it was made at a time when I was receiving quite frequent replies about this anomalies also being on the mobile version.

In my opinion sounds like a great idea until lepus steps in. Sense its a pre hardmode boss but it can drop souls of might. that means... EARLY MEGASHARK yeah megashark requires 20 souls of might and lepus drops a few lepus would break the game progression intirely. Having a megashark in pre hardmode is basically skipping it if you can actually farm lepus. Which if he were to be added back he would have to have the souls of might drop removed but that also serves another issue of "he's just pointless" and just a complete optional boss that doesnt serve any right to be in the game.

The idea of a boss getting harder the longer you take to kill it isn’t shown much in terraria, and the closest we get to that is the wall of flesh (any boss that enrages at night doesn’t count because there’s no progression towards the enragement, it just happens immediately. I wouldn’t say the wof counts either because technically it gets harder the more damage you do to it and not how long the fight takes, but it’s the closest we have.)

This sure brings me back. I still love Terraria to this day and while I can't argue that todays Terraria is league's above the mobile and console release but even so, a part of me really miss it. It's hard to believe I first played Terraria 9 years ago, I didn't realize it'd been that long and it's taking up a lot of my mental to process that information. For the record I am 20 today, that means I've known about and played Terraria for 48% of my life, unbelieveable.
I know no one asked but I'd like to tell you all of a little story, of how I happened across Terraria, and even if no one ever stumbles upon this I'll keep it as a memento of sorts... Anyway, so to start things off I'd like to mention that my parents have been divorced since I was 7. This is key.
So at the time I had just brought my Xbox over to my mothers place for the weekend even though dad was against the idea. He really didn't like me bringing my stuff over there (I would stay over for the weekend everyother week). So of course 11 old me felt victorious over the fact that I managed to convince my stern dad. Still riding that high I decided to browse the Xbox Marketplace for some random games. Now, seeing as I was 11 I had absolutely no money and definitely no credit card so naturally I wasn't actually planning on buying anything, I just had a guilty habit of browsing the Marketplace.
I don't remember what happens thereafter. I must've browsed the market for a while until I eventually stumbled 'pon Terraria, fresh out the oven, new release and all. I've been a sucker for the pixel aesthetic my whole life so Terraria caught my interest in a heartbeat. I watched the attached Trailer of which I still have an incredibly fond memory off, I will never forget that trailer. After the high I was forced to come to terms with the fact that I wouldn't be able to play, and as suddenly it all felt like a distant dream. As if I wasn't sure already I still for some reason decided to click the Purchase button, knowing nothing would come out of it but man am I glad I did because it just so happens my Dad forgot to unlink his credit card from the account after buying Saints Row 3 (another good game) and without giving it a second thought I clicked through the purchase screen and voila, Terraria had been added to my library. Deep down I knew I fucked up, I was in big big trouble but I didn't care, I was too damn ecstatic over the fact that I now held Terraria in my hands (metaphorically). The rest is history, I still remember that weekend dearly. I spent 2 entire days holed up in my room, dying to vultures over and over again but man was it a blast. I'm pretty sure I didn't beat a single boss that time, I don't even remember if I attempted EoC. That part's a bit foggy.
Anyway, I am now back at Dad's place and much to my surprise he hadn't noticed, phew. I still felt really guilty about it but all's well that end's well aye? Don't worry, I later "repayed" him with some of my allowance, that is to say I pretended to ask if I could buy the game then and there even though I bought it with his money weeks prior. Later down the line I eventually introduced my younger brother to the game as well, so he too, has technically played the game for 9 years now which is wild because he must've been 7 at the time. Ironically WoF ended up becoming probably our biggest wall in gaming ever, even to this day. It took us close to a full month to finally beat it, 300+ attempts. It wasn't just me and my brother either, when we had people over we would shuffle the controllers around yet none of us could beat it, it was simply a different era back then I'm telling you.
And to close this little chapter of my life off. When the 1.2 update finally came around (a year or something later) we didn't realize we had to make a completely new world because the Jungle Temple didn't generate in pre 1.2 worlds and so we spent literal days clearing out the WHOLE jungle in search of the Jungle Temple, but who would've known the search was entirely in vain. We eventually figured out we had to makee a new world and to top it off we even made new characters. It only took us a week or so to reach the same point of progression.
So that was my little "Terraria Origin", an experience and memory I soon won't forget for the rest of my life. I owe Terraria a lot for making me who I am today, and helping me bond with friends and family. I like revisiting it every year or so or whenever a content update drops and I still experience the same joy I did that one faithful day.
So yeah, that's it. So now, if anyone happens upon this comment of mine I want to ask,
How did you happen upon Terraria fellow Terrarian?

The memories, playing this game well into the early AM hours with my friend whenever he was over. Good times

  • @nightmaregamingyt1723

I started playing around 2014, and I still have the old gen console edition on my 360. Looking back, it’s so incredibly crazy how different the game is nowadays

  • @justanotheryoutubechannel

I’ve always found this stuff fascinating, I really miss that period where people thought to make a PC game work on console you needed to add exclusive content and stuff like that. I recently played the console ports for myself for the first time now that I own a 360, but even before that I played the mobile version back in the day, I played from the start until 1.2 came out. I personally never thought the new content didn’t fit but it was obvious they were recolours, but it wasn’t something I minded as I liked the new colours and it was some fun new content. I collected a bunch of the exclusive content and have very fond memories of getting it all with my brother and beating Ocram together. The pets were also amazing, I love them, and I think they’re better than the PC version’s pet-like things. I had this period of being really nostalgic for 1.1 which is what lead me to try the mobile version, as that wouldn’t have 1.2 for a long time yet.
I have a lot of fond memories from this period and I wish they weren’t removed, as a kid I was so fascinated by the new enemies from the console port as I only had the PC version. I feel like most of the items didn’t really fit that badly, I expect they were only removed because Re-Logic personally didn’t like them. I think they should’ve at least kept them in the legacy console version, removing them from there was just a dick move. I always thought Re-Logic helped develop the items but it seems unlikely considering they decided to remove them. I don’t remember them having such cynical motives as you described here, but who knows.
I remember my first ever world in Terraria mobile was completely destroyed by Lepus, it duplicated like 6 times as I was super early game since I only got the game the other day, and I just had to hurriedly grab all my stuff from my underground base and run for it. I really enjoyed all the events that port had, thanksgiving, oktoberfest, and a few other events made the game feel way more alive than the PC version.

I come from an opposite perspective where I always thought of console and especially mobile as crusty and bootleg and always hated them and breathed a sigh of relief that none of the items or enemies got ported over.

There was a time during the release of console version, and I’m unsure if this was a bug or not, that you could find a Dragon Helmet in jungle chests. You could just casually find the strongest melee helmet in the game in there.

I remember planning to do our first fight against ocram with my friends, i was the one who made them interested in the game when my friend who hasn’t beaten a boss thought it was just a survival game (basically MINECRAFT 2D), weeks past when i got the game they saw how cool the game was, i gaved them alot of loot, they never had to go through what i did.
Anyways, after over prepping for the Ocram, and after reading about it on wiki, saying how dangerously op ocram was and scary he is, summoning him made my friends flee, mid part of the fight I realized how easy he was “being post golem” gear 💀 I didn’t know he was for the Mechs final boss.

Just discovered this guy and spent the last 2 hours binge watching his stuff. My only regret is that I didn't find him before. He is hilarious and not only does he do a good job of teaching/information sharing, but he brings a perspective that leaves me wanting to have start a new character, slap on a few mods to keep things fresh, and build a whole new world at the cost of 120-300 hours of my life
EDIT: He deserves to break 500k subscribers, to my fellow terrarians, please help me get him more subs

I remember fighting lepus on the mobile version, but I was severely underpowered. Thankfully due to sheer luck, I found some map geometry that caused his ai to just bounce around while I could slowly chip away at his health.
    Good times, man.
also, i love the drawing of ocram in the thumbnail

I was also the guy with stacks of souls and coins i started to do every boss at the same time because i was bored fun times having the wall of flesh push me back while skeleton prime was on top of me with ocram just destroying me with his stupid attacks that unless on the sky bridge are basically impossible to dodge

The horn o' plenty singlehandedly carried me through my 3DS playthrough due to a glitch where if you paused the game by opening the inventory and went to your equipment screen, buffs and debuff timers would go down normally. Using this, you could heal yourself infinitely provided you had enough healing items, which wasn't a problem if you had the horn o' plenty.
