I don't think Gabby is unwell. His feathers look like he may ave had a shower. Otherwise, he is very, animated, vocal and looks and acts like a very happy, healthy, boisterous Amazon parrot! He is so cute!!!!
I adopted a 18yr old Orange Wing Amazon male named Chubby. What a intelligent and sweet boy he is. He's a real character too😄😄

Aw this reminds me of my orange winged, he couldn't talk this well but would vocalize a lot, especially when alone. All we ever really got him to say was a rough hello and the whistle up and down like he did towards the end (like a cat call) oh and pretty bird occassionally. But his hellos were more like HHHEEERRRROOOO. His favorite thing was making as much noise as possible just squaking, lol.

I have two ringnecks and an orange winged Amazon. my male green ringneck and amazon love each other but they don’t like my blue female ringneck lol. My amazon coco doesn’t speak but makes amazing noises, he’s supposedly about three years old and my green male ringneck kiwi is about 12 months and just started to say hello and things and he copies a lot of the amazon noises. I’m hoping coco starts to copy kiwi in return. They’re just great to sit and watch lol. I love them 😍

I'm glad your parrot likes to watch Gabby. I unfortunally had to get rid of her. She was not playing nice with my cockatiels and injured them. After getting a new home for her she died shortly after. New owners said she was fine and happy and even went to the vet for a check up shortly before she died but one day she was found on the floor dead. Dont know what happened. Birds are weird like that.

Thats great! I've been trying to get gabby to say hello but she just keeps saying scratch scratch.

OMG! Watching this just makes me so excited - I am picking up my 6month old rather shy baby on Friday and I cannot wait to bring him/her home!! Have so many plans and ideas in my head of what i would like to do/train him/her to do - unfortunately I am well aware he/she will make it's own maind up I am sure!! LOL!! Just hope it doesn't decide to 'kill' my son's over excitable 2 yr old collie!!! Fortunately though I only have her during working hours monday to friday so my beautiful new baby should be fine!!!

Imagine hearing police alarms in your house at night.
Thankfully she is quiet at night and on a different floor and opposite side of the house. She does make it hard to watch TV though.
While I was watching this video I started crying and the reason is that I did have the cutest Amazon parrot too before one munth his name was almo he stayed with me three months he loved me so much an I loved him more than any thing in this world we stay like that ontill my pearnts told me that my sister had a sensativty off parrots and that sensativty would kill her so I started to cry I hold as strong as I could and wanted to run out of the house at night but the doors were louked so my pearnts were looking for a good ouner and they find one he was an old man he loved animals so much he loved almo so he took hem on tile that time I did not stop thinking of him

I think your parrot looks kind of sick. His movements seem a bit pathological (in german we call it Stereotypie) and the feathers aren't as shiny as they should be. Maybe you should talk to a vet? Or change the hold conditions? Also do you have another parrot? Amazone parrotts are very social animals and must be held with other conspecifics

Your orangewing looks like it needs to be taking weekly showers.....i rescued my orangewing and his feather looked the same, once i started giving him showers he looks and feels soo much better. They come from a wet environment and really need the moisture for their skin as well as the cleaning of their feathers and naries.....nothing but water no soaps or other things are needed and arent healthy for them.....mine takes atleast a 20min shower to get wet enough because they shed off the water so well. Yours is quite a talker for an orangewing, they really arent known for great talkers but are great companions ive found.

I own an orange winged and 2 Quaker parrots I'm numb to their scream(I don't really hear them anymore) but I live in NYC in an apartment and I never got a complain not once, but sometimes they do "who's the loudest" competition and I kinda have to stop them from continuing but one thing I would say is that the orange wing like to be with people

DNA test or wait to see if it lays eggs. It hard to tell if some birds are male or female. Parrots are hard to tell sometimes.

Gabby was female. At lest that is what I was told. She never laid eggs and I never got her tested.

The previous owner said Gabby was female. But the only way to really tell is if she would lay eggs or have a DNA test. DNA test is about $20 I think but I dont really care to have one done. If I wanted to breed them then I would get a DNA test just to make sure what sex Gabby is and get the appropriate sex for a mate.
The previous owner of my parrot also told me mine is a female but still they wasnt show cas i got her without feathers she was really young. So was just curious and wanted to no if it have anyway finding out her correct gender. Thank u so much for d information. Am all the way from trinidad getting dna test here is really gonna be expensive. So am gonna think she is a female.. lol. Am not breeding her.

If you never had a bird before this might not be for you. If it's really tame it might work out but it's like having a screaming 2 year old for 70+ years. They need to stay warm. Nothing below 50-60F or they could have issues.
