    My written review:
    I’ve had this camera for about 2 months now. There was a hiccup in the beginning and I will share what I figured out. First off, the IP address of this camera is a static preset IP coming from the factory. I’ve dealt with a number of cameras over the years and all the others just had the IP address assigned to it by the router.
    Tip 1
    After some research I found out IP addresses set at the factory is pretty common for pro cameras. The IP address is 192.168.1.108 I ran into an issue because I couldn’t even see this camera on my network since my default gateway was different. Long story short, I changed my default gateway and I was able to get right into the camera. You can change the ip to dynamic once you get into the settings. You can also just change it to another static ip if you have conflicts on your network.
    Tip 2
    Another tip is that the live view of the video while in the web interface does not work well with google chrome or edge. I found out Firefox works just fine with it. I believe it had something to do with some kind of issue with active x settings. Accessing the ip from the chrome browser on my phone worked just fine as well.
    Tip 3
    There is a QR code in the bag of items that come in the box. You will need that to pull up the webpage and download the user manual pdf. The user manual is 173 pages and very informative. I would be better if there was at least a scaled down version of the manual included in the box.
    Tip 4
    So, I noticed that when I had all my AI settings in and the camera is auto tracking and everything is setup like I want it. Sometimes the next day when I walk by the camera it would auto track and follow me. I would go in and all the settings would still be in, and the AI presets would still be turn on. I rebooted and the camera would be working perfectly again. I found in the setting where you can configure the camera to reboot itself periodically. I elected for it to reboot once every 24 hours. You may be able to pick even more often if needed. Once I set up this auto reboot the camera has worked flawlessly for me.
    Final verdict: I would recommend this camera to a friend, but I would have reservations on recommending to a friend who is not tech savvy.

    can i use a ptz joystick controller with this camera? also does it track any object, such as animals or even aircraft if i wanted? such as at an airport

      In theory yes you can use ptz joystick on it. However, compatibility will vary. Joysticks connected to DVRs NVRs and software that supports onvif should work for you.
      I believe the only things the camera will track automatically are cars, bikes, and humans. if you want to track other things you can select that item and the camera will follow it. I do this with my dog is 9:00. I select the dog then the camera follows him around.

    Is this the same camera as the vikylin vd-sd4825x or are there differences between them?

    • @jpulley
      @jpulley  Před 10 měsíci

      I can't say with absolute certainty that they are the same. However, but by looking at the box and the camera itself in my opinion it is very likely the same camera.

      I realize this is an old question, but for anyone that comes across this and is trying to identify this Camera, here's a reply. Looking at the box i would say this is the same as the vd-sd4825x. These are OEM's of Dahua SD49825?B. The sd49825XB is an earlier version, it can be identified by having SMD Plus. The later version has SMD 4.0 and a model number of SD49825GB. The OEM's generally have a similar designation (XB or GB) except in this case where it is evident from the box that this is in fact Dahua SD49825XB. So to answer your question this is the same as vd-sd4825x

    are these camera a vandal proof?

    • @jpulley
      @jpulley  Před 10 měsíci

      I dont know if anything can be truly vandal proof. However, I would definitely consider this to be vandal resistant. The mount on this camera is very large and heavy duty. There are 4 holes that you can mount with a fairly large concrete anchors if you are mounting on concrete or large lag bolts if you're mounting on wood. I've had other camera with a similar style they used a mounting plate that screws into the surface the the camera just slides onto the mounting plate and held in place with a single Philips set screw. I could remove that other camera from the mount in 10 seconds with a single screw driver. This model camera if mounted with 4 bolts would take much longer to remove from the wall. You would need to bring socket wrench with you to get this off the wall. It would probably take at least 4-5 minutes to take it down even if you had the correct tools when you start.

    4K resolution & frame rate drop once the camera is tracking, the video image tells it all
    Stationary footage looks fine

      When I exported my video its bitrate was limited by a certain upper limit. When things are moving it maybe wanted 60mbps but I had the max at maybe 40. I can't remember what I had it set to. I didn't want to exports a 16 gig video just for youtube to degrade it anyway. The original quality is definitely better than what CZcams shows.
