- In the song "Cochise" by Audioslave Cornell explored this subject again. Cochise was named after the great Native American, Apache chief - Audioslave released the song COCHISE on October 14, 2002, which just happened to be Columbus Day. I like to think Audioslave purposely released it that day as a shot at Christopher Columbus. Many think the lyrics to Cochise are autobiographical, but Cornell was much to clever for it to be that simple. I believe the lyrics are a reflection of Cochise himself, and his tribe being raided by the U.S. armies. Cochise screams, "Save yourself" to his tribe and "Take it out on me!" to the U.S forces.

I remember the first time I heard Into the Void (Sealth). I was stationed in Seattle at the time (Bremerton actually) and decided to walk up to Capital Hill into a record shop. They had a listening station on one side and that’s where I saw SOMMS. I think the only reason why I didn’t get it was the fact they wanted $50 for it. I think I ended up with a Bob Marley record for $5. It was all I could afford at the time.
