And not too bad as a song writer As he wrote most all of Temple of the Dog material… All of Soundgarden’s And almost all of Audioslave Plus his solo creations such as this. One man responsible for creating, writing and singing. A total music package the world has rarely experienced.
And yet, Pearl Jam and Foofighters beat him to the rock and roll hall of fame. I’ll never understand that. I don’t understand how how they beat Alice In Chains to it either. Makes ZERO sense…
I was in that tv studio audience for that performance in NYC on my birthday sep 22 2011. It was around 11AM and when the announcer said: “musical guest Chris Cornell” I had to pinch myself and ask my neighbor if I heard it right. When I was a kid growing up in the Netherlands Chris Cornell was a god to us in the nineties. To be that close in such an intimate setting was one of the coolest things. It was fun to see him and the guy from Jane’s addiction set up before the performance, and bob his head connecting with the Letterman band playing “love rears its ugly head” in the commercial break. Such a special moment, especially in hindsight. A simpler time.

@@MrDJsDaughter Wow, this is such an amazing story! I am in love with Chris' music so this is such a treasure to have found along with your Dad's heartfelt story 😊 Thank you very much for sharing your families' beautiful story with me it was a pleasure to read! 🙏
I remember my dad crying when news of John Lennon being murdered hit the news, and I remember my mom crying the day Elvis died. I always wondered why? Why cry over a musician, singer, songwriter? Then I woke up for work one morning and Chris Cornell's death was being reported, and I just started crying. First time ever I cried over someone I never met, didn't know etc. But his music kept me grounded and focused on every deployment until I could come home for good. No one sings like you anymore, rip Chris, see ya on the other side
I can't stop listening to him...amazing song...amazing man, he kept getting better with age. This world has lost a one of a kind artist. This one is really hard to shake. I hope you have found some peace Chris, you will be forever missed.
