Mercedes Benz GLC - review - is it just too expensive?

- This is the all-new Mercedes GLC 2023. Mercedes-Benz first introduced the GLC in 2015 as a direct competitor of the Audi Q5 & BMW X3. Gorgeous interior, beautiful and elegant exterior - the AMG line is the cherry on the cake!
There is plenty to choose from when it comes to the engines - there is petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and mild hybrid (MHEV). I'm testing the model GLC 200 which has a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder petrol engine under the bonnet. We also have a small electric motor which makes this a mild hybrid (MHEV). All new GLC models come with a 9-speed gearboxes and all are four-wheel drive.
A lot has changed in the new Mercedes GLC but enough to justify its hefty price tag?

@@AnnaOnRoads Hi, I would like if you don't mind telling me your opinion about something else. I was in the category of large luxury seven-seater suvs. I like two cars, the Mercedes gls and the Cadillac Escalade (which you find difficult in Europe). I think from what I have seen and read that the gls is clearly a better car overall than the Cadillac, especially in terms of absolute build quality, attention to detail, luxury equipment. but on the other hand I like the Cadillac with its size, its spaces and its appearance (it is not beautiful but very impressive). I want to ask if you have any picture of the two cars and if so what is your opinion. thanks for your time.
@@user-xl2dg9kp2b My opinion is very similar to yours. The GLS is a lot more luxurious in comparison to Escalade. I have actually reviewed the Escalade in the past. The GLS will offer you more comfort, a far more superior infotainment system and overall more practicality. But I do think the Escalade is a lot more unique, especially in Europe. Escalade is badass ;-)
Mine was delivered last Friday, GLC300 AMG Premium Plus, very nice.

Objective? We may not be seeing the same video.
Just as an example: that massive screen in the middle to control EVERYTYHING... all she has to say is "gorgeous".
What about usability? What about the fact that you have to take your eyes off the road in order to see the screen where you wanna tap?
I got tired of her reviews because all is "gorgeous" and 0-100km/h time.
Her videos feel more of lifestyle/fashion rather than actual vehicle technical review.

Great review and video Anna. That new GLC looks classy from outside to inside. Really like that grill with all those mini Mercedes stars and I like the footplates which adds to the style but I love those alloy wheels it just finish the supreme looks. I remember a friend was talking about interior of a car and when he said it was red and black I was like no that sounds a horrible combination but when I saw it I was amazed how it just works so very well. And in that GLC it's just stunning but I guess you wouldn't expect anything less from Mercedes. But shame about the cupholders not working. Well I guess when you want a posh and classy SUV you got to pay for the class and quality and plus the name.

Great review. Classy and Pretty, for sure, but it needs more fire under the hood to not become dull too soon. Good thing there are other engine options.

Hi Bruno, thank you! The largest audience on my channel is the UK, prices in EUR become tricky as it greatly varies Spain, Germany, France and the list goes on!
Had one as a company car, liked it so much I bought it when it was time to hand it back. Still a joy to own and drive, such a lovely car, feels so safe and solid, jusy a cocoon from the world. This new one seems even better. Only problem I have is the full lock judder, not sure if they have fixed it also the cheap sweaty vinyl seats article they have on the cheaper models.

Hard decision between the GLC, Q5 and the X3, anyone in the market for mid sized SUV is spoilt for choice. I do like the interior of the GLC very much, very usable. Excellent video Anna , Keep up the good work.

Incredible car to lease should never own one. Resale value is terrible. I do love the look of it Anna those snow tires prevented you from breaking a record.
Excellent video Anna, i really fall in love with GLC once in ur video u r talking about this is a big car and engine is not quite big so, but i love this GLC. I m from india and still we dont know how many variants are coming here.But i think u have missed some features like remote boot space, lane departure warning, ADAS sytstem pls make a video of all of the above and hidden features. I’ve owned BMW’s, Audi’s and my last car was a Merc GLC coupe. Great cars but not worth the price tag compared to what you can now get for less. I now drive the Hyundai Tucson fully equipped for 1/2 the price of one of these with the same bells and whistles on it. Plus it’s a hybrid
I am very fond of both Hyundai and Kia, they have come a very long way. But the GLC is still far more superior when it comes to the ride quality. The new GLC is also available in the hybrid version.

Little capable thing, I've taken it on a proper off road. Loooooved it!
The GLC is a beautiful car but it's a heavy SUV, it would suit those who drive mainly on straight roads and seeking comfort. Is it a bit soulless? Probably. I would still go for the X3, but that's my pure personal preference xx

You shouldn't need time and patience to work out the shortcut buttons. It's a luxury car. It should be simple and intuitive. I have a BMW 520 and it took me about 5 seconds to familiarise myself with the short cuts.

Are you saying the interior quality is excellent? I’ve been in numerous new Mercedes and everything is a big festival with cheap and squeaky plastic and fake leather.
At 10:45 you can hear the dashbord rattle when you accelerate.. ( I have the same rattle in my new E-class)

Actually it's not the dashboard which moves, it's the camera. Try launching any car with cameras mounted, I think you'll understand then.
Buying an amg line on a glc is kind of pointless and a waste of money. Its a luxury suv not a sport suv. But some people will buy it just to say hey look at me.

😂 I know how the system works, same on some other models. This one was actually jammed. Sometimes it happens with press cars, they are used and abused!

Hi Richie, yes, I've noticed BMW and Porsche have both increased their prices for Australia, a bit mad quite frankly. The X1 is very expensive, it will be interesting to see what the new X3 next year will be priced at.
