🌟 About the Martin D-35 Acoustic Guitar: 🌟
A distinctive three-piece back and antique white binding around the fingerboard set it apart. Expressive quarter-inch straight bracing gives it balance and power for any situation. Premium East Indian rosewood, spruce, and a timeless Dreadnought shape have made it the choice for pickers, strummers, and players from Johnny Cash to Seth Avett.

After 23 years from the first playing D35 in GC. I bought my D35 new in 2018. Lovely guitar.
What a beautiful sounding and well-balanced guitar the D 35 is, great explanation and presentation- thanks.
Thanks for commenting and the kind words!
This might be one of the best videos I've watched
Much Appreciated
I have to commend you for answering all the questions posted to your review. I wish more CZcamsrs did this because it’s important. Thank you for being so good at what you do!
You are so welcome!
Great demo and explanation! That guitar sounds great, and no telling how much time will bless it with deeper tones as it ages.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the demo. I’ve been checking out your channel lately and I like the mix of vintage and new guitars. Keep it up. Awesome vids!
Hey, Richard. Cheers man! Will do :)
Good job demoing the sound and describing the architecture of this guitar. Beautifully played.
Thanks for listening
Excellent playing sir. You really showcase what the guitar can do.
Glad you like it!
Brilliantly done the D35 is a special guitar keep up the great work! 👍
Thanks a lot!
Far out!! Beautiful tune.
Cheers, bro!!
Bought mine just last year..new..out of Toronto..never looked back..shes the one for me!
wicked, enjoy!
Came for the guitar stayed for the playing! Great demo. Of all the D-35s I’ve played, only one has the one. I didn’t have the cash at the time. So alas, my quest continues.
Thank you, sir! Wonderful model and ideal lifer guitar, enjoy your quest :)
Only guitar 🎸 channel I didnt mute 🤫 the volume
Man those guys playing annoying
In market for om28 deluxe
So been watching tons of videos
Nick, great video. My first new Martin was a D35 with an Engleman top. That was my favorite guitar accept for the 1-11/16 nut back then. I might have to buy a new one 😀
Thanks! great choice on top wood! I've played at Johnny Cash and LOVED it. Definitely check out these new D-35s, Enjoy!
First time to your channel - great video. I have a 1975 D-35 - have enjoyed it for about 30 years now. Really likes your playing - will be back!
Hey, Mark. What a great guitar to have to enjoy! Welcome, thanks, and see you soon!
Fantastic guitar.
Many thanks!
I've got one on order - the D-35 has always been the best sounding guitar for me. The HD-35 is great but a bit too much, while every D-35 has wowed me with not only the clarity and balance, but actual quality of every note. It's rare to find a guitar that flavors its own sound so well. I hadn't thought of it as a fingerstyle dreadnaught before - interesting take on it! Great vid, thanks
Cheers, Randall. Thanks for the input! Enjoy your D-35!!
Beautiful slack key guitar at the end!!!
Thank you!
Townes Van Zandt played this guitar back in the early 70's.
Great guitar, but you the player are the reason this guitar sings, thank you. The melody you played in Hawian tuning was wonderful.
Thank you! This instrument has great potential!!
Excellent playing and great explanation of the guitar!! What was the name of the tune you were playing at the beginning of the video around 1:07? Sounds very familiar but I can’t put my finger on it!
Good skills matey... how long are you going to the States for ?
Will be strange not having you putting these guitars through their paces !
Cheers, mate. Nick will be away over September. New store will be opening soon!
Great vid. Beautiful Martin and great playing. I really liked what you played around 6.56, is it an actual song or just you improvising? I'd like to learn it if you could point me in the right direction, for some tab perhaps?
Cheers from Napier.
Thanks, mate. Nick is playing variations on Stephen Stills "Tree Top Flyer".
@@studio1vintageguitars Cheers mate will check it out.
Also - the bridge plate is also Rosewood and that makes the guitar sound better / quieter.
Thanks, mate! Will mention next time.
Only take care with the bindings coming off like with my 2011 D-35 an old Martin trait! Nevertheless the tone is outstanding!
it happens sometimes, always keep your guitar in reasonable humidity. Easily fixed by a good luthier!
I believe there has been a glue upgrade in more recent models.
Love my D-35. I got it new in 2017 and it isnt nearly as loud as other Martins I've played (including my own D21 Special). The tone is totally what I want, but wish it had a bit more punch sometimes.
Having not played many other new D35s - have any of you noticed that it takes longer to open up than other guitars?
Thank you!
You've got a great guitar! Your guitar could open up well in the next 2 years, play it overly loud and hard for 30mins and see if you notice a difference. We didn't have this D-35 long enough to break it in, but in a well humidified room it was maturing in 2-3 months
What is the width of the neck at the nut? Looks wider than the one I play. Nice demonstration, btw. My friend played a lot of finger picking. Brings back memories. Thanks.
1 3/4 on this one friend! glad you're enjoying the videos. Cheers
Im learning Electric Bass , Have 3 now lol , Got a Strat , Going to buy A Martin D-35 , Has a deeper tone .
That's awesome!
Hello, what microphone set are using to record the guitar? Thanks in advance!
CCM series Schoep Microphones!
It sounds Chrystal clear
You're not wrong Peter 👍🏼
Please play a d18 standard
Will do a Authentic D-18 and real deal 1937 D-18 soon!!
I'd love to hear Nick play a new standard someday too :(@@studio1vintageguitars
We haven't got any new ones coming into stock, sorry! Will hopefully earlier next year.
@@studio1vintageguitars thanks!
What is the nut width on these?
1 3/4 inches
Thanks!@@studio1vintageguitars
Finally found the alter ego of Jim Jeffries. Selling guitars using masterful skills by day, saying "C#nt" by night.
Hahaha, that made me laugh out loud! Thanks, man! Jim's a amazing comedian.
A lot of time to tune ... for playing nothing ! 😂😂
😅😅
