    Nice, video!! Very helpful and explanatory. As a brazilian I should correct you, “Agora” in portuguese is wrinten with an accent “Ágora” wich means the exact same thing as in english, but “Agora”, without the accent, means “now”, they are two different words.

I did feel the overview portion was a smidge long and could be consolidated a bit into the actual rules breakdown but I imagine this was partly because the expansion has so much packed into it. May I please ask a question:
    If you have control of the Decree token chamber which is a "Blue card +2".
    You have just acquired a Senate card.
    Which is correct?
    If you have No Blue cards, do you have
    2 Senate actions 0+2=2
    OR
    If you have No Blue cards, do you have
    1 Senate actions 0+1=1
    Thanking you in advance to settle this.

  • @King_Vai
    @King_Vai Před rokem

    Good lord this expansion adds a lot and not simply. For example, the gain Senate actions based on blue cards has a multiply simple on the board and not in the rule book for reasons unknown so you will make mistakes but as long as you like the base game you'll play it enough times to learn it, it will start to make sense. I do not suggest for those new to the game or those who aren't willing to play a half dozen times to learn the complexities of this expansion. Overall leading me to not suggest getting this expansion especially if you already got the first expansion even though I find it personally fun.

    The expansion is great. There is only one decree tocken I don't understand - chain reaction from cards. Can you please explain how (what) you apply when you control this decree? The rules book is not very clear. Thank you in advance.

    • @AllYouCanBoard
      @AllYouCanBoard  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Lozko! So that decree token is basically stating that if your opponent owns any buildings with the white chain symbols on them, you can benefit from them as if they were in your control as well. These are those little white symbols that allow you to buy certain OTHER buildings for free for having them. It's a powerful decree token and allows you to scoop up many future cards for free. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the info. That box says 30', right? I don't believe that. We love Pantheon, the 1-2 things it added seem to fit in smoothly. This seems like 3-4 "other" things to do. Our avg times are 25-30' base & 35-40' Pantheon. I don't think your explanation was choppy, it was good. I'm concerned playing it is choppy.

    • @AllYouCanBoard
      @AllYouCanBoard  Před 3 lety +3

      Yeah I would agree actually. 30 mins doesn't seem accurate in the games I've played. I would wager 40-45 is more accurate. It does add a lot, but the things it adds are kind of extensions of existing mechanics. So recruiting the new senators plays out very similar to building a building in the base game, with some minor twists that don't add a TON of time, but definitely do add time. I think maybe once you've played 10-20 games of Agora, you could have sessions where it ends in 30 mins if you achieve political, scientific or militaristic victory. Or are just getting through things at a quicker pace. But on average, I'd say 40-45 is a better estimate.
      Thanks for watching!

    Rules say adjacent "chamber" not section. If you could place one on the respective section THEN move out of that section...whats the point of a senators restrictive section?

    • @AllYouCanBoard
      @AllYouCanBoard  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, you move cubes to adjacent chambers not to adjacent sections, if I ever mixed up those terms that was an error! Each section has 2 chambers in it for 6 total and when cubes are moving, they are moving between chambers, not sections. - Dylann

    • @cezarykozminski
      @cezarykozminski Před 3 lety

      That's a question I'm looking answer for, so when you have a politician in left area/section and choose to move it, you can move it only to another chamber in left section? You can't move it to middle section?

    • @maherbabsail
      @maherbabsail Před 2 lety

      I think the author meant to move influences even to chambers across sections. There is a clarification in the rule book saying that you may move a just placed influence multiple times, depending on the number of actions your have. In this clarification it does not make sense to move it in the same section back and forth. However, it makes sense that multiple moves will be definitely into other chambers outside the section. Similarly, the other clarification says that you can move a just placed influence. So why the hassle to place it in a chamber and then spent another action to move it just to the other chamber in the same section, where you could have placed it from the beginning in the ultimate chamber.

    • @spiromac25
      @spiromac25 Před 2 lety

      @@cezarykozminski I understand it that the sections are only for placement. Once you have the action to move you can move to any adjacent chamber, even if that is in a different section.
      Senators have influence over a specific section, but you can move your influence around regardless of the original senator that recruited you.

  • @troddy3925
    @troddy3925 Před 3 lety +1

    There seems to be an issue in the manual where it says how to set up the cards in the beginning. You take out 3 cards from each age, while then adding 5 senators to the 1st age, 5 to the 2nd, and 3 senators to the 3rd. The problem is: you need 23 total cards to make the 3rd age formation, but if you take out 3 3rd-age cards in the beginning and add 3 senators, that only gives you 20 cards to build the required formation when you need 23? In other words, don’t take out three cards from the 3rd age in the set up at beginning, and just add the 3 senators. Even though the instructions say otherwise. Did anybody else notice this or am I missing something with the Agora instructions?

    • @spiromac25
      @spiromac25 Před 2 lety +1

      I'm sure you've already found the answer to this, but in case you haven't (or for further enquiries) -- don't forget to add the 3 guild cards when playing only with the base game or the 3 grand temple cards if using the Pantheon expansion.

    • @AllYouCanBoard
      @AllYouCanBoard  Před 3 lety +3

      It's works fine and there's a section in the rulebook that goes over how to implement both expansions together. Definitely makes the game more complex and there's more to keep track of, but if you're looking for a new challenge after playing lots of Duel or just enjoy more options and paths to victory, it's a great option.

  • @mr.rogers7612

    Some people put decree point in slot and some have them flipped for a cube spot?

    • @AllYouCanBoard
      @AllYouCanBoard  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, the correct way is to have them placed with a little diamond spot open for the cube to be put in. I didn't realize this until I was already deep into making the video. Although it's not something that affects gameplay, if you prefer to put it into the slot the other way, you can simply place the cube on top of the decree token to indicate who has control of that chamber.
