I wish I didn't buy this.
Ok that's not entirely true, it was fun to make a video about this laser keyboard. Serafim have created something really cool here, but in everyday use, is it the best lazer keyboard for the price? How about if an actual musical keyboard is thrown in there too? And what's the unboxing experience like? Ah, so exciting.

Thanks for checking out the UnboxN channel! I like to look at unusual and fun products, and most importantly find out what the unboxing experience is like.

The original prototype concept of these virtual keyboards was far more exotic. It consisted of two tapered aluminum pieces that looked like two fountain pens with an included tiny fold up holder. One pen body would be pointed in the holder diagonally down towards a flat surface that the holder was sitting on, while the other pen body would be pointed directly towards a flat vertical surface such as an immediate adjacent wall. The two were paired to a smart phone or laptop. The laser projected red virtual keyboard with boldly double outlined keys all resultant from the lower diagonally positioned downward pen body was the same width and depth as a mechanical computer keyboard with substantively spaced, easily manipulated, somewhat rectangular keys which when touched would illuminate brighter, and a sound from each keystroke was instantly produced on the paired device that had a very high voltage like electrical “zorp zorp zorp” type of sound. The upper pen body aimed at the wall surface clearly reproduced whatever was showing on the screen or monitor of the paired device. The complete three piece unit fit into a person’s shirt pocket looking like nothing more than a pair of matching aluminum bodied fountain pens with slid on typical clips to secure them on the pocket edge like any writing instrument might be affixed in the same manner. I’ve looked in vain for a photo image of the unit, but nothing turns up any more whereas several years ago I did then still find a photo or two as well as a CZcams video upload where the device was demonstrated briefly. I always recall how truly captivatingly bizarre it was when being utilized in that video via that virtual keyboard due to the rivetingly pronounced electric sound it made along with those spacious somewhat rectangular virtual laser generated double outline delineated keys when they were touched, and would also illuminate brighter at the same time in sync with that “zorp” like electric sound.
This concept could make for a pretty interesting Raspberry Pi compact desktop build. I know the R.Pi 400 is built into a keyboard, but having something built into a small monitor that uses a laser keyboard would be great for a pocket-sized dedicated CLI device.
Definitely underrated channel, only 44 subscribers? This is the kind of effort I usually see in a 1,000,000 sub channel. Subscribed. Keep it up!
Thank you, that means a lot! More videos in the works.

Dude, this is a well crafted video with actual and genuine input on what you experience. The editing and everything is amazing! You earned a new sub. I came here for your jelly comb iPad Pro keyboard and trackpad review and went to check out your other videos. They are amazing! Keep up the good work, you’ll grow fast!
Thanks a bunch! Great comment to wake up to on Christmas. More videos incoming 👀
@@UnboxNChannel I’ll be around to watch them when they’re out!! Stay safe and happy holidays!
Great review. Looking forward to seeing your channel grow. Subscribed!
I remember seeing these about 10 years ago and came here to see if they were any good (I didn't think they would be). Nice review.
if you add on an extra sensor position opposite to the projector to pick up the blind spot
Laser keyboards are kinda cool.
Maybe in the future when we have some sort of ‘haptic’ and holographic stuff haha that would be so nice.
Super portable keyboard then
What if you had a see through desk and the light was sent from beneath the desk? Then you could still interact with the light sensors on the desk accurately without blocking the sensor beneath the table
this channel is underrated more people should start watching your content
deserves more publicity good content.
Tell your friends :p
High quality content, you just got a new sub
👀
Holy crud only 2.2 k veiws with this quality?
Criminal, right? ;)
I had hoped the kickstarter version would have made some improvements. I worked at Officemax about a decade ago when these things first came out (Made by Celluon) and I could stop help myself. Sadly, I discovered there is an inherent flaw in its design: the detection system is monocular, meaning any key combinations that are in line of sight of each other are impossible. They operate by detecting interruptions with an IR grid that is projected slightly higher than visible projection, but again this makes things that aren't perfectly in line of sight awkward. You have to make sure your fingers come down straight over each key which makes it difficult to use without typos. I wished they worked. But they don't. It's a party favor if you want to geek out. They original retailed for around $100, but some are as cheap as $40 these days. If you still want to geek out, get the cheap one because you will get the same mileage out of it.
The Fact You are Underrated Makes Me Sad... Video Quality, Editing Seems Like You Deserve 100k Atleast...
Aw thanks man, appreciated. Wish I could upload more often too, but life is so busy right now.
@@UnboxNChannel Yes Work A Little More Hard Becuase You Already Have Which Deserves Subs And One Day Your Name Will Be Famous Across CZcams..
I think maybe in time and effort, it could be good tho?
but they need to update it and make obv improvements
This is deserving path of IT
A drumset to this would rock
It’s just a keyboard that’s a hologram.
Ohhhhhhhhhh
Good reviews 👍 you deserve much more views
Thanks man, super encouraging 🤠
it need no display because it should had both display projector and keyboard as input and play musics
And for Programming?
Almost thought i had something to sell 😆
How do you access the built I keyboard music app? Thans for the great review
Thanks for watching :D You access it by getting the Serafim-Keyboa app in the Store. Apologies for the late reply!
yes they are so when you rage in minecraft you don't break your real keyboard and you break your table instead
they should work on these more
Subscribed!
You know it makes sense!
you do interact with something phisical, with your desk, is not like you are typing in mid air :))) but yeah good video I guess.
Who came here after watching shoppe's ads to see if it really works😳😳
Can the keyboard adjust to a larger/smaller display size?
It cannot, unless you position the entire thing further away from / closer to the surface you're projecting on to.
This one and apple glass and Sony head set then we are in heaven
I’m going to share your channel to get you some more subs
Increase the size to keep it cooler for durable operation
wat
Highly doubt it but, does anyone know if this can be used as a midi keyboard/work in a DAW? Thanks for any input, i want it just for the piano keys 😮
Sorry for the very late reply! I checked the app again and it's very barebones, so no option there. But if this works over bluetooth on other devices, then I don't see why you couldn't use it with Garageband or something similar. Been a long while since this video though so I don't really remember how it works haha
Man, this channel is definitely underrated...Nice video by the way...I won't be buying this keyboard!!!

Is that (sic) a slipknot reference???
he has soo little subs. This Guy Deserves Way More
Couldn't agree more haha
Umm... I see. So you need to change your table, the keyboard is just perfect.
Preeeetty much, yeah.
my friend you hold shift to get capital letters
타자되나요?
Tried this years ago and felt was not there yet.. Revisiting.. looks like the same thing..
Yeah, the only innovation I've seen is using the tech in those projected tablets. Shame it's just so janky.
they should had background light so it can be used in bright area
too small makes is too hot if use over long time
This falls in the category better than nothing, otherwise use anything else.
Pretty much.
can i change language
first researcher was japanese american

All hail the algorithm
Actually that's pretty awesome haha.
0:12 Your 14 y/o self could only possibly have been 4 years prior to this video, making you 18 years of age at the time and 20 years currently, yet you make it sound like it's something that happened a gorrillion years ago. Also, hardly anyone was talking about laser keyboards. But props to you for getting this video up, intriguing just how easy it is to make a decent looking video these days.
I was almost 22 when I made this video. FYI making a 'decent looking video' like this isn't easy.
@@UnboxNChannel I guess "easy" isn't the right word, maybe "accessible". it's so widespread now the market is very saturated.
Ah, sorry, I guess I beefed my math a bit, I still stand by my point though.
