its only making one folder in the rust server folder and its "steamapps"
Do you own the game? Ensure you make the folders I make and put them in the exact same locations, including the drive letter, my drive letter is C in this video, it must match.
Doesn't work on cracked client. :(
My friends and I don't play video games very much but I wanna host a private server for cracked clients so we can goof around together. And none of us would wanna pay $40 for something we only play like once every few weeks, or even months.
Yes it doesn’t work on cracked clients. You can wait till a steam sale to get the game discounted. Or you can buy a game key off some other website, but no you can’t do this with a cracked client.
can other people on your wifi network connect without port forwarding
No, it’s run off your computer not your network. Port forwarding makes it run off your network.
@@wafflewolff actually, if you get the hosts ip, and your on the same wifi network, you can do client.connect then the ip of the host
a very helpful and clear way on to help others make and modify a server but i do only have one question, Is there a way you can explain how to make it public (for free) off of your own computer?
Go to the description and watch the video on port forwarding :) I don’t go through the info on it, but you can do it
Get a host service (a 24/7 computer that allow external connections) so you can upload all the server files there and run .bat there. Connect to the host ip and there you go.
Hey i put in the right seed and size of map into the notepad off of rustmaps but its not working, but when get in the it use another map not map i put in

Please join the discord and paste what you are putting in steamcmd and the location of your two folders.
The rust server folder must be on the root of the drive. And if it isn’t the C drive, you must change the drive letter in the command used.
How to make the server on 24/7
Leave the cmd open or get a separate computer to keep it open 24/7 and then port forward it.
