This is a prime example of how Americans lack a sense of ‘dry/witty’ humour. British comedy is very sarcastic and dry, but Americans find it insulting and serious! You Yanks need to chill.
Except that this is a local news station segment that is produced by probably no more than 50 people (maybe way overshooting that) and you’re using it to generalize 300 million people...
Simon McKoy knows whats important. He wasn't interested in the whole royal baby thing because it is not so important. Why did you show him talk about the royal baby thing? You should show or report more important stuff. If McKoy would be your anchor then he would have lost the will to live!
The thing is though... these guys don't believe that this is a story or have any real opinion on Simon, for them this is the same deal as with the dogs but ya know... unlike Simon they're kinda just obedient betas in the news machine, towing the line and saying what they're told like good little subs.
He’s Irish so doesn’t like the fact an English couple are having a 3rd child anyway. Huge difference when he’s reporting the first child of Harry and Meghan.
I'm gonna blow your mind but not every Irish person is xenophobic towards the english. He's not acting like that because they're an English couple, it's that he was forced to report on it like it was "breaking news".
The Americans just about took all the humor out of this.

seriously, try being a brit living in america...I've accidentally insulted everyone I know.

@@gallyturndrop5320 err... it’s the biggest National news channel by quite some distance, and also watched internationally.
@@neilscott7683 I’m not referencing the BBC, everyone knows that. I’m referencing the station talking about the BBC clip.
@@gallyturndrop5320 i swear you are all the same ,Americans are so sensitive
so they decided to turn a reporter announcing non-news into a news story in its own right?
Of course, they don't see anything wrong in "Surfing dogs" being news. Disgusting channel.
The BBC should make Simon McCoy their new royal correspondent
You are a fucking knob.
He was during the 90s.
S
Exactly. He represents my level of enthusiasm for the royals 🙄.
Well in America they don't deal with homelessness at all either..
But can I just say, no one actually cares that they had a baby, many women give birth they don’t get media attention lol
I thought they only had the 1 kid until about a year ago lol

He is Simon
He cares about the hard news more than royal babies
Be like Simon -- but announce it and get it over with FAST.....
Surfing dogs is a hard news, oh really?
Shows that Americans are easily impressed
Yeah he's disgust because we all now have to pay millions for another "royalty"
Simon is a legend.
News people have begun to consider themselves gods! Let enough people complain and they will be unemployed
Sheer Class Simon
And I thought British news programs overreacted

Welfare Windsors
YES!! underrated comment.
Yeah, they are always releasing boring news from good old Westminster Abbey Palace !!
These two American 'anchors' are high high cringe.
the best bits were with carrie gracie,,, on the morning show,,, they were a great comedy act... now split up,,,,
His wig 😊
I'm feeling Simon. Lucky guy huh?
Wow. Americans just don't get dry humour
USA...blase about royalty since 1775. A baby, how common of them.
oh Simon I know how you feel it's always them I think some of feel the oh god not them again 😞😞😞😞😞
These American anchors and their phony schtick is exactly what creates people like Simon.
That says a lot about you to be negative about a man who doesn't care for silly dog news
"what's wrong with surfing dogs?" Because it's BBC news not BBC look-at-these-dogs-doing-human-things
I live in the USA. We care . Ok send us your royals and we will send you Donald.
Send the effen Obamas.
Mary Lingo with pleasure any time
