Pixel all the way now that they have a pro model. I love the extra features that Pixel's have like call screening, call waiting for you, magic eraser, etc on top of the overall experience. Samsung lost me years ago with their pushing of their bloatware and Bixby junk. I realize they aren't as bad at that anymore, but I'll stick with Pixel unless they go back to mid-range only again.

The s pen and all the Samsung features are amazing, but honestly I didn't use it as often as I thought it would. The S Pen is enough to justify the cost if you use it and I do love the features that google is implementing into their system. always have been a Samsung fanboy. but for some reasons I got a Pixel 6 Pro. a little disoriented at first, but it's all like muscle memory. I do love the speech to text in French and English as I use both daily in Montreal, Canada. 1 advantage though that I never see mentioned for the S-Pen, is that when it's cold, I was able to keep my gloves on n slide the pen out. I do miss that, as I was not only a Samsung person, but furthermore a Note user. I changed to Google because it always took sooooooo long to get updates. I got my pixel the day they released the big fixup everything (almost) patch, so I did not suffer from the debacle of the P6P on launch day. I went for the S22 Ultra for 2 reasons.
    1. That 10x periscope lens
    2. We got the SD version in India this year instead of the Exynos. At least some good came out of the pandemic!
Since the Pixel phones are not available on our market (last one was the 4a), there was no confusion in my decision. And I have to say I am absolutely happy with it. I use the 10x lens more often than not as it helps me to get close to subjects when I can't do so physically, without losing quality. And although the s-pen wasn't a consideration in my buying decision, I find myself taking it out more frequently for finer photo editing capability.

As a Note user since 2011, Samsung's hardware features, not software was why I stuck with the Note series. Those features have all but disappeared. Samsung seems to be bent on being a Pixel. Hardware features that used to differentiate them from Pixels, like the microSD card slot, measuring sensors (heart rate, SpO2 etc), 3.5mm headphone port, and even their MST tech for Samsung pay, have all been removed. My Note20 Ultra could be my last Samsung device. I've been using a Pixel 4XL alongside my Note20 Ultra, and I must say that Google's take on software, and now hardware is tempting enough to make me not dread leaving Samsung. If I don't get a Pixel 8Pro next year, then I'll be seriously considering the Sony Xperia 1 mark 5.

P6P user here. I've absolutely loved Samsung's phones through the years. After coming from HTC devices, I had a Galaxy Note 5, S8, Note 9, S20, and an S21. But after trying the S22 Ultra, I came away feeling underwhelmed and decided to give the Pixel a try. I know this is contrary to what a lot of people have said, but I actually found the S22U to be super buggy compared to the Pixel. But from my experience, the biggest factor has been the battery life. All the SD8Gen1 phones seem to have horrendous battery life, and especially in this regard, Google's Tensor chip has seriously delivered. I have yet to kill this thing in a single day. I know I had one day with extremely heavy use where I was on the phone constantly, and I think I ended that day at 15 percent. The standby time is so good that on light days, I can easily end the day above 60 percent. Yes, there are Samsung exclusives that I miss, like the secure folder, Dex, and edge panels. But trading those things for call screening, great battery life, and an awesome camera was worth it for me.

I recently moved from a one plus pro series phone to the S22 Ultra. I originally considered the Pixel 6 Pro but i didn’t care for UI changes, like the mentioned wifi toggle on the pixel and I wanted more storage which wasn’t available on the pixel in my purchase window. Ironically the biggest headache on the Ultra has been the Samsung software. There are several wonky features when coming from the OnePlus OxygenOs but the problems started when i began using the esim and physical sim to make up for my Dual Sim requirements. The Samsung software makes calling or texting from the right account an absolute mess.
The camera is really a minor consideration for my usage and having started in the era of PocketPc's and stylus phones I find the S-pen to be little more than a gimmick. It's usability being pretty limited in daily use.

I do not use DeX, s-pen or 10X zoom (twice in two years on my s20U) so these much vaunted features are just moot for me. That is why I would easily choose the Pixel 6 Pro over the S22U. Add in that we get Exynos in the UK and none of the deals the US gets but get a £350 set of headphones and 10% store credit on the Pixel 6 Pro and the win is really very easy. I managed 3-4 hours SOT and lost 4 % battery every hour when the phone was not used. I think I could have solved it by gettting the Snapdragon-version, but that is not so easy. I bought the P6P at launch and boy was that a headache! Fingerprint sensor was inoperable, the auto brightness was never accurate, and the bluetooth connectivity was very difficult to work with. I ended up attempting to jump ship to the S22U hoping it would be my saving grace. I had plans to sell the Pixel 6 Pro after receiving it. But now I find myself keeping the Pixel after all these months of updates.
One thing I couldn't get over was the screen and how smooth it was in comparison to the S22U. The camera on my S22U would fail from time to time, first time I've EVER had that happen on a Samsung device (been using them since S5). Over the months, Google has really tailored the P6P to be a much more enjoyable experience. My S22U has let me down, and now I'm leaning more towards the P6P. I'm giving Samsung the 6 months that Google had to tailor their phone. If it's not ironed out after that, I will decide which phone to sell.

I upgraded from a Pixel 6 pro to the Samsung S22 ultra. *I got so tired of all the bugs in my Pixel.* I've been a fan of Pixel for many years and always rejected Samsung due to the bloated software and their persistence for pushing Samsung's suite of apps, including Bixby which I refuse to use. I switched 2 weeks ago and I'm sorry happy. I wonder if I'll ever go back to Pixel. I love the S22 ultra so far... 1) Random freezes.

I was dissapointed that the Google 6P cameras can only be used in binning mode and no native images to use the full sensor MP count. With the S22U you have the choice on the main sensor of 108MP or 12MP binned. The 6Pro does have some useful Google features and the cameras do produce some nice images, especially the main sensor and the 4X zoom. The ultrawide camera on the 6P is also not too wide so there is less geometric distortion which is another plus.

That's one thing I'm finding with my Pixel Pro is the weight. Coming from an iphone 8, it's significantly heavier. Being most of the business end is the bottom of the phone, it's hard to use it with just one hand (even with the bring down the top feature). And one thing I noticed was how far apart the icons are on the home screen compared to an iphone or S22. Google should step that up for a large screen like it has. My old iphone would fit more on it's smaller screen than the Pixel.
But I think you need to weigh up the price too. In Australia with both phones on sale - Google Pixel $999 whereas Samsung S22 Ultra is $1549. Yep $550 dollars more, over half the price of the Pixel itself. For those sorts of dollars I've got money left over for a charger, screen protector, case and a few boxes of beer!

I have been a Pixel user for years now but I just replaced my aging Pixel 3 XL with a S22 Ultra. Reasons I went for the S22 Ultra over the Pixel 6 Pro were First, Length of Update Support. Pixel 6 ends 2024 and S22 Ultra ends 2026. Second, in my opinion Google completely ruined the Android on their phones in Android 12. I am not a fan of any of the changes and was glad to leave it for One UI, which is much better than it used to be. Finally, Stylus, I am a heavy stylus user when I have it.

Samsung's software is more refined? My S22 ultra keeps hanging and my wife's Pixel 3A is still as usable as it was on the first day. Not sure what you're taking about.. also my wife's Pixel 3A takes better night shots in super low light than my Samsung.

Great video. Thus, I feel you already had it in your mind that YOU will pick the Galaxy over the Pixel before the video was released. I am going to say it again - for the value, you receive all the bells and whistles and then some compared to the S22 Ultra. S22 Ultra is literally a little better version of the S21 Ultra, with added features.

I really like my pixel 6 pro's camera as for the rest of the phone it's very glitchy it's driving me nuts. I like to use the extreme battery saver but for some reason Google thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to have exclusions for The voice command. I can't ever use voice text without turning off the battery saver. I thought my phone was defective at first but it wasn't it's just that they don't allow exclusions to keep the battery saver from affecting the microphone. My phone runs slow lately I've noticed that I can't edit text on Facebook the cursor flies wherever it wants to. Unless I hear of some major corrections or experience them in this phone, I don't think I'll be sticking to another Google Pixel I will probably go to a galaxy
