Honestly, don't you do any homework about the S22 Ultra before you do a video? You can easily change the oversaturation in the Settings by changing one button to "Natural," colors! Geez, I am so dam tired of reviewers not knowing how to use the camera features on the S22 Ultra.
The S22 Ultra zoom is rated as off-the-charts better than the Pixel by most reviewers. Possibly some of the settings you chose skewed your results.
If you shoot in 1080 P in Super Steady mode, the Samsung takes better videos and protects from shaking - even better than Google.

The iPhone has one major issue that shows in the video (3:43) but is not mentioned. It distorts proportions of faces quite a lot. See how the Pixel is much different and close to reality. The iPhone outputs an elongated face. This is far away from reality.
Another big issue is the excessive blurring of hair. People should look for exemple at this video czcams.com/video/4OzJIvplxi8/video.html (Samsung S22 Ultra vs iPhone 13 Pro Max Camera comparison). We can see at 0:49 that the level of details in terms of hair is quite good with the Samsung S22 Ultra, as expected, but mediocre with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with tons of blur (face of the dog, above the eyes, ears etc). This is a recurring issue that the iPhone is smoothing out way too much hair, for no good reason.

@@Versusdotcom Thanks for your quick reply. In your own video here, we can see that significant distortion effect, at 3:43 for exemple. (All these reviews are missing this distortion point.) Also, many big tech CZcamsrs pointed to the skin being smoothed out too much (as if someone used too heavily an eraser), which we can see in their various videos (quite visible on the forehead, with wrinkles and the like vanishing). We can also see in many videos of the big tech CZcamsrs that details in the hair disappear (too much blur), while some details around the face (hair in particular) are just cut (blur). In your own video here, the portrait at 3:23 is much better with the Google (proportions, details, colors).

Tensor is a marketing name for a ISP unit that also exists on S22 and iPhone 13.
Pixel 6 can't catch up in video because photos can be processed after the fact, videos need to be processed in real time. For that you need raw power. @@ThePhilipone I own the S22 Ultra, and its auto mode is better than the iPhone Pro Max for photos. Comparisons with the Pixel are a mixed bag because they trade off taking better pictures in different circumstances (in auto mode).
But more importantly, using the professional RAW mode is really very easy once you learn it. Really all you have to set are the exposure and the white balance in most cases. The HUGE advantage of taking photos in RAW mode on the S22 Ultra is that is captures them in 16 bit color and composition. Each picture has a huge amount of information to work with when you edit them. So when you take photos in RAW mode, you can literally fine tune photos to be absolutely perfect. You can't do that with a Pixel or an iPhone Pro Max.

So if you want more than a point and shoot camera system, the S22 Ultra is the better choice. If, like you, just want a point and shoot, simple camera, then both Samsung and the iPhones are a good choice, however the iPhone is built for people like you.

I really like the image quality of the Pixel, but I don't like how the pictures look totally different from the videos. The pictures have a natural look to them which I like, but the videos on the other hand look overly bright and saturated. That's not consistent at all. It's like a completely different team worked on video quality. I hope Google fixes this with updates.

@@Versusdotcom what you meaning how strong it is or the shape of the bokeh? Cause phone cameras handle bokeh similar just one may be more aggressive with blur. Being they using computational photography to make up for what it lacks in size reducing what it can produce. Sensors on smartphones to small to do it the way dslrs do it so it lacks colors and other things. It's more blur then the way cameras make bokeh blur. Some photographers love it and bokeh became the popular thing but it's as many who careless about bokeh and produce astonishing photos. Since February, the bokeh and depth of field seems to be adjusted differently. Not to much blur and better depth mapping. Depth only work on rear camera and can be adjusted as well. I have token clean portraits with the 6 pro. Compared with my a6400. Seems it has less artifacts then the phone first released. I also see that the s22 sometime its really aggressive on the blur. Sometime my a6400 when using my 1.8 lense way more blur, shallower depth of field ,wider aperture. Not saying I get the perfect shit every time. No camera does that. Saying it seems more improved with blur and edge detection. I seen them all shine and fail on different shots. They all do well. Nobody zooming in like most of us do just to pixel peep lol. Some think the pixel has the best portrait mode. I can't say who's best cause they all have hiccups. Do they work though and produce usable shots. Yes

Pixel and S22 Ultra have more built-in camera features, but when you count in features offered by 3rd party apps - iPhone 13 Pro is the winner with apps for manual photography mode (Halide MK II, Procam 8), manual video mode (Filmic Pro), very long time exposure photos (even longer), 3d scanning with Lidar (Polycam), and many others. Android is struggling in this area due to the camera API issues (developers would basically have to implement, or at least adjust many functionalities (ex. switching lenses) independently for every phone on the market, some of them even tried and failed - devs of Moment Pro Camera have discontinued its Android version in 2020).

In my case Gcam port for S9+ (Exynos ver.) stopped working right after updating device to Android 10, and it has never been repaired.
