Was your Samsung exynos in this test?
I hope that Samsung update to fix problem with crush in shadow.
Need to explore more low light performance in upcoming video..
Accurate or not, the colors of S22 Ultra photos are a lot more appealing than iPhone and Pixel.
Damn right
Finaly , similar dynamic range to the Galaxy S10 . I didnt change my S10e just becaus of the HDR , and the variable aperture ...
Thatâs why apple has âphotographic stylesâ

One thing I think missing was night shots , it would have changed the scoring of this video.
Unfortunately, the software made the images and video brighter than it actually was. It was around 6 at night when we took that footage. There's still a good amount of noise and grain in those videos though, especially on the left side of the road video. Check it out! Thanks for your comment.
@@Versusdotcom I meant actual camera night shots not video. I think the pixel has the edge there , where apple falls behind both Samsung and Google
Exactly what I was thinking. I have the Pixel 6 pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The night mode pics go back and forth on them. The 12 pro Max and 13 pro max are very similar if that helps
@@CKBrutus i agree, I have the also have the 12 pro max and s22 ultra. Night shots are 50/50. Samsung tends to over saturate light sources, while apple manages to maintain more natural. It honestly depends on the location of the photo to pick the âbetter one.â
If they added night photos it will staright up send the iPhone from 1st place to last place maybe that's the reason they didn't ! đ
You must admit it's impressive Pixel is still punching in this weight class at 60% of the price of it's competition.
Definitely!

Apples portrait mode is definitely not on par with the s22 ultra. I think Samsung has the best photography camera in the game right now with apple having the best video
Literally every other channel that has done a similar comparison has emphasized the mic quality on the S22s, and put it above the other two, I wonder what was different about your comparison.
Im going to bet where he was holding it effected that. The others might have done the test by putting it on a table, or tripod?
True
True bruh
I think he Don't like Samsung đ
I honestly thought that the s22 ultra sounded better...
@@atrgaming8161 đ€« I think so
Honestly, don't you do any homework about the S22 Ultra before you do a video? You can easily change the oversaturation in the Settings by changing one button to "Natural," colors! Geez, I am so dam tired of reviewers not knowing how to use the camera features on the S22 Ultra.
The S22 Ultra zoom is rated as off-the-charts better than the Pixel by most reviewers. Possibly some of the settings you chose skewed your results.
If you shoot in 1080 P in Super Steady mode, the Samsung takes better videos and protects from shaking - even better than Google.
The iPhone has one major issue that shows in the video (3:43) but is not mentioned. It distorts proportions of faces quite a lot. See how the Pixel is much different and close to reality. The iPhone outputs an elongated face. This is far away from reality.
Another big issue is the excessive blurring of hair. People should look for exemple at this video czcams.com/video/4OzJIvplxi8/video.html (Samsung S22 Ultra vs iPhone 13 Pro Max Camera comparison). We can see at 0:49 that the level of details in terms of hair is quite good with the Samsung S22 Ultra, as expected, but mediocre with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with tons of blur (face of the dog, above the eyes, ears etc). This is a recurring issue that the iPhone is smoothing out way too much hair, for no good reason.
That's rare and not really seen much to be honest. Apple has always been the best at Portrait mode, also corroborated by many big tech CZcamsrs.
@@Versusdotcom Thanks for your quick reply. In your own video here, we can see that significant distortion effect, at 3:43 for exemple. (All these reviews are missing this distortion point.) Also, many big tech CZcamsrs pointed to the skin being smoothed out too much (as if someone used too heavily an eraser), which we can see in their various videos (quite visible on the forehead, with wrinkles and the like vanishing). We can also see in many videos of the big tech CZcamsrs that details in the hair disappear (too much blur), while some details around the face (hair in particular) are just cut (blur). In your own video here, the portrait at 3:23 is much better with the Google (proportions, details, colors).
@@marcrodet4900 Hi Marc, that was really good observation but like said, it is in rare case. I say that because I have I phone 13 pro and my wife have S22 ultra. And tbh I have never faced skin softening issue in IP on daylight but I did observe it sometimes in low light. Iâve always compared both phone cameras since we got S22 ultra and I would say it always goes back and forth.
@@marcrodet4900 I wonât lie the iPhone 13 pro max isnât better than the ultra simply because the Samsung portrait is insane
Microphone is better on pixel and3 Samsung. I wonder why apple wins this round. And for noise canceling the pixel is better đ±
The Pixel won the audio test and got 3 points. The iPhone didn't win, it got 2nd place with 2 points. Samsung's audio was muffled and not clear, so it got last place.
Amazing, but Google's subject tracking is unmatched. I dont Apple even does that. On the pixel you tap on the subject and you can literally shake the phone and it will stay locked on
I think the Pixel 6 pro would have won , but their video camera needs to improve, to be competitive. All three are very good phones , can't go wrong with either one

Great comparison but why not testing them at night also using night mode? Almost every single phone can take great photos now in broad daylight, the differences show up at night and some of us also use phones at night for taking photos, or indoors at restaurants and pubs. Just came across your channel and is great but lacks the night comparisonsâŠ
Wait wut!!?? Did I have a massive Deja vu moment or is this a re-upload??!!!
Ya man.. i checked the channel
You are right, it is a reupload. There was a small mistake in the video.
I was hopeful that with Tensor, Google can finally apply their image wizardry on videography but did not manifest. The point-and-shoot strength of Google hardly improves but reliable as ever, so Google has nothing else to focus on but to improve the video shooting of future Pixels.
Video has definitely improved on the pixel 6
@@592Johno it improved as Pixel 6 as it is, yes. But compared to the competition, it is still lagging. I just thought that Tensor will allow Google Cameraâs superb image algorithm be applied frame per frame on videos but that is not the case. To be honest, I like the images from my former 3 XL more than the succeeding phones I had namely 4 XL, S21U, 12 Pro Max, and 13P atm.
Tensor is a marketing name for a ISP unit that also exists on S22 and iPhone 13.
Pixel 6 can't catch up in video because photos can be processed after the fact, videos need to be processed in real time. For that you need raw power. And in this area, Pixel 6 is very far behind both other devices. Unless they drastically increase prices, Google will never catch up on video and other tasks that require heavy real-time computing. Tensor or not.
@@jcgraquino it's not even that fat behind Samsung and even does better in lowlight. Atleast on the main sensor
@@Innovate-pq9ci actually I think Tensor was chosen to be more in line with Google's TPU cloud services since both deals with AI and all that shit less to do with an ISP. Imo
At the end you were biased with your night shots. Those pictures were not even dark night shots and neither was a video. You should have scored both of them separately and the pixel would have definitely been on top for pictures and maybe the iPhone for videos
There is no bias towards any phone. The weather was dark enough to show the noise and grain in the videos, and the software made the weather look lighter than it was. It was around 6 at night when those photos were taken.
Yeah even with stabilizer. The pixel look jaggies. The Iphone should win follow by the samsung
There's a huge price difference too with pixel 6 pro quite a lot cheaper
Galaxy win for me. I have the 13 pro max. It might excel in video but I mostly do stills and having used the s21U in the past I miss the zoom capabilities a lot.
But cinematic mode on ip 13 is amazing.

Wow, the Samsung Ultra S22 can be adjusted very easily to be less saturated through SEVERAL methods. You can't really adjust the Pixel or even the iPhone. Nearly every reviewer rates the S22 Ultra's photos as better than the iPhone's on both the front and back cameras.
Also, something looks really off with your S22 Ultra photos. I own the S22 Ultra and my photos are far better than the ones your S22 Ultra is taking. I am not sure why.
Fiddling with settings usualy makes you miss the moment. A phone camera should be good as soon as you need to take a photo. That's why people prefer iPhones and Pixels. Good cameras out of the box. Point and shoot.
@@ThePhilipone I own the S22 Ultra, and its auto mode is better than the iPhone Pro Max for photos. Comparisons with the Pixel are a mixed bag because they trade off taking better pictures in different circumstances (in auto mode).
But more importantly, using the professional RAW mode is really very easy once you learn it. Really all you have to set are the exposure and the white balance in most cases. The HUGE advantage of taking photos in RAW mode on the S22 Ultra is that is captures them in 16 bit color and composition. Each picture has a huge amount of information to work with when you edit them. So when you take photos in RAW mode, you can literally fine tune photos to be absolutely perfect. You can't do that with a Pixel or an iPhone Pro Max.
@@franklong6269 i ownes Samsungs for years. Same issues over and over. With my ip 13 pro i just shoot and there is a decent photo or video out of the box
@@ThePhilipone The iPhones, especially the Pro Max version, have great cameras. According to most reviews, the iPhones shoot the best videos. However the NEW Samsung cameras shoot better photos and they shoot video that is nearly as good as the iPhones.
The difference is that the S22 Ultra has a far more powerful camera system, especially if you take RAW photos. So if you want more than a point and shoot camera system, the S22 Ultra is the better choice. If, like you, just want a point and shoot, simple camera, then both Samsung and the iPhones are a good choice, however the iPhone is built for people like you.
Before I bought the S22 Ultra, I owned the S20 Plus and it took phenomenal photos in auto mode. So I think that you have not owned the most recent Samsung phones.
Again, the iPhone cameras are great cameras. If you are happy with the iPhone, then stick with it.
@@franklong6269 look for some RAW capture comparisons. You will see how much the Samsung weirdly lags in just taking a photo compared with the iPhone. This is exactly what happens over and over with Samsung phones and NOT other androids like the Mi11 for e ample. It takes that moment to process and that moment could be the difference between a captured moment and a missed one.
I owned Samsungs since the s6 Edge and every year i switched back and forth with Samsungs and iPhones until i gave up and last year went for the mi11Utra. This year i gave the Mi to my wife who loves androids too much and went for the iPhone. Still baffled by the speed and quality.

The best camera is the pixel. I don't do portrait and I don't like it
How did you zoom 100x with the pixel?
I really like the image quality of the Pixel, but I don't like how the pictures look totally different from the videos. The pictures have a natural look to them which I like, but the videos on the other hand look overly bright and saturated. That's not consistent at all. It's like a completely different team worked on video quality. I hope Google fixes this with updates.
Yeah I agree! Thanks for the comment.

Yes it has to be old cause the pixel no longer cranks the background up to 100 in portrait mode since camera update.
I wish that was the only problem though. The bokeh is just not accurate in half the photos.
@@Versusdotcom what you meaning how strong it is or the shape of the bokeh? Cause phone cameras handle bokeh similar just one may be more aggressive with blur. Being they using computational photography to make up for what it lacks in size reducing what it can produce. Sensors on smartphones to small to do it the way dslrs do it so it lacks colors and other things. It's more blur then the way cameras make bokeh blur. Some photographers love it and bokeh became the popular thing but it's as many who careless about bokeh and produce astonishing photos. Since February, the bokeh and depth of field seems to be adjusted differently. Not to much blur and better depth mapping. Depth only work on rear camera and can be adjusted as well. I have token clean portraits with the 6 pro. Compared with my a6400. Seems it has less artifacts then the phone first released. I also see that the s22 sometime its really aggressive on the blur. Sometime my a6400 when using my 1.8 lense way more blur, shallower depth of field ,wider aperture. Not saying I get the perfect shit every time. No camera does that. Saying it seems more improved with blur and edge detection. I seen them all shine and fail on different shots. They all do well. Nobody zooming in like most of us do just to pixel peep lol. Some think the pixel has the best portrait mode. I can't say who's best cause they all have hiccups. Do they work though and produce usable shots. Yes
@@Versusdotcom quick note my guy. I also found that tapping to focus on the subjects face especially around the eye areas seems to perform better in portrait mode as well or maybe it just did a few times lol. Will observe more when I'm out shooting. Probably go out shooting with the 6 pro and a6400 today. I'll give further info later. Also good work at what you do my guy!! Just cause I may not agree with everything don't mean I don't like your content.

There's definitely some iphone bias here. The portrait mode on s22 is better than the 13promax, it even gets single strands of hairs, its not a tie. Also I think samsung 108mp pictures should also get the win, I'm annoyed that you ignore the 108mp mode I use everyday on my s21ultra that beats out even my 13ProMax photos every time. I have been using S22 Ultra for quite some time (2 weeks) and also Pixel 6 Pro. But each of them had some flaws and issues I could not get over and went back to my iPhone 13 Pro. iOS just âworksâ. No fiddling, adjusting, compromises. It is simple as that. And since I don't care any more about customization there is no reason for me to look at Android any longer.

Apple's edge detection looks like 2 generations behind the Samsung. The difference is too huge to ignore.
Pixel and S22 Ultra have more built-in camera features, but when you count in features offered by 3rd party apps - iPhone 13 Pro is the winner with apps for manual photography mode (Halide MK II, Procam 8), manual video mode (Filmic Pro), very long time exposure photos (even longer), 3d scanning with Lidar (Polycam), and many others. Android is struggling in this area due to the camera API issues (developers would basically have to implement, or at least adjust many functionalities (ex. switching lenses) independently for every phone on the market, some of them even tried and failed - devs of Moment Pro Camera have discontinued its Android version in 2020).
Then s22 ultra is winner. We can install Gcam port in galaxy which gives same image processing like pixel 6 pro.
Gcam is free and gives full manual. Plus with improved night sight, the astro timelapse adds a neat feature for enthusiasts. I'm intrigued about those cameras though. I hadn't heard of all of them.
@@virajegaming1611 I agree, that Gcam ports are awesome... as long as they work. We need to remember that they are developed by a small group of people from XDA forums and that they have to be developed separately for each device and adjusted with each bigger Android update. In my case Gcam port for S9+ (Exynos ver.) stopped working right after updating device to Android 10, and it has never been repaired.
Samsung phones have pro mode already something iPhone nor pixel don't have and if you want motion blur or silky water motion pro camera works great on Samsung and he just updated the app last month it now shoots RAW and he's always adding features.
These third party photo apps are really bad in my opinion. You miss on most of the computational photography tricks and end up with higher noise and weaker dynamic range. Manual photography is already available on S22 (pro mode or expert raw app). What is missing is raw video but there is an app for that (same as iOS with Filmic Pro)
Pixel photos look really natural

Got Damn. I have a pixel 6 pro but i have a s22 ultra on back order. Literally every picture save for one or two you showed looked better on the s22âŠ
I guess you like the dark being even darker, along with high contrast and saturation. I prefer the natural feel of the Pixel, so for me it's not a contest.
Maybe it was a paid review because there was no night shot photo. It would have changed the scoring. I think pixel night shot is best ever compare than both Samsung and apple.
From what I heard, the audio of the s22 was not at all muffled what are you talking about. They all sound the same.
Samsung is now getting better at cameras
Galaxy on this year he is the king of faults
How the hell can you choose iphone as best for normal pics...hdr mostly a miss and pics are flat. Main subject should be infocus, no one focuses on small corner shadow detail
Samsung wins hands down, the clarity of the pictures is really the deciding factor. The stabilization section, the Samsung was the only one not to get light flickering in the last test, and the audio test the iphone had a streak of light across the video.
None of these phones will do bad, I just think a few categories I would have graded differently. Apple still has video though.
Many of the problems and features are not even mentioned. Samsung very slow shutter speed, no ZSL, Blurry motion and faces on the photos, Pixel with "Out of memory" problem (Shutter button becomes inactive), overheating and Slow focus, Apple lens flare, Slow camera startup etc... The video is Good for quality however far from real life. Real life Samsung and Google can gives you a hard time if you want to capture quickly some ... (yes I have all the of the phones and Pixel is my main) Usually Pixel let me down and Samsung and Apple quality is far from the good even on a kindergarten party on a rainy day.
