Did you know if you smash the long vertical pedal to the right of the brake, magically a Police Officer will appear behind you. Have had my 2021 RST for 2 1/2 years and love it. Except at 19,000 miles a push rod turned into a letter “L”. Chevy took care of the problem. 👍
My 2021 turned 3 the rods on driverside into L's when it only had 3500 miles on it. New engine and a range box on the obd connection fixed it. The lifters when they shut down the cylinders for fuel economy are the issue. The range box kills that feature and the engine shut off at stop feature.
If your truck has retractable side mirrors, using your fob and locking the door hold the fob after the second click and the mirrors will fold in...same goes with expanding the mirrors when you unlock using the fob.
Thanks for the tips. I purchased a used ‘21 Trail Boss that only had 16k miles on it. The salesman didn’t go over any of the truck’s features with me. I wondered why Chevrolet didn’t put steering wheel controls for the radio. I had it probably a month or so before I accidentally discovered them on the back side of the steering wheel. First Chevrolet I’ve had in twenty years and so far, I’ve not regretted buying it.
Also, if you're in reverse and you zoom in on the rear view camera for hooking up to a trailer, the truck automatically turns on the parking brake to prevent "park roll" so you're exactly where you need to be. Cheers
Hi mate, Just got my LTZ in Australian I love it, dealer’s didn’t know half the things this car does lol One thing I think you missed is there are buttons on the back of the steering wheel, on the right it controls volume and on the left it skips forward or back. It makes it easy to do so without taking your hands off the wheel
Great information. For those watching, if you read the manual, many times these things are explained there. There is too much information for the dealer to run through adequately, so even if they did, the average person is not going to remember many things. Incorrectly stating something is wrong, so the camera thing should be addressed with your dealer if they incorrectly inform you what it is. One additional thing you could have added, along with the windows auto-rolling down, is the side mirror auto fold/unfold. With the setting enabled, you hold your lock button and the side mirrors fold in, where if you hold the unlock button the side mirrors unfold. Just the little things. :) However, in this video, you mention "Fast foward" and "Rewind" options for Sirius Radio. Those are not accurate explanations, though I think the intent of the message may be understood. They are "Previous Track" and "Next Track" buttons (or a variation of the term Previous and Next). It is not "Rewind" or "Fast Forward" as that entails the song can be searched by the second interval (5 or 10 seconds at a time), and that's not what it does. Though this is not an egregious mistake (as the incorrectly labeled "hitch camera" is for the hitch light), just making sure accuracy is attained. Great information otherwise, and many things that, though I'm a tinkerer and found them all (the infotainment system runs Android, btw, so you can enable things like Developer Mode to possibly side-load apps, which could brick the HMI lol), many people won't find and won't think to search for. I surprise my wife each time we hop in my Silverado or her Odyssey because I found the things she didn't know about.
Another cool feature, chev calls it the remote start extender, look it up in the manual, I call it my "pet mode ", on a hot day when traveling with your pet you can exit your truck remote start the truck actavat the extender, the lights will flash once , now the truck will run for up to 1/2 hr with the climate control on and the truck fully locked
Very cool stuff. I didn't get a good delivery of my 2021 Sierra. Most of the stuff I learned from CZcams. And I actually picked up a 3-4 couple of tips on your video. Thank you!!
If the remote battery dies, u can place the fob in the cup holder between the two and press the start button and it will crank it with the remote battery dead
Sales people typically know less about a product than I do when I walk in the door. I do the research first. At least when it comes to vehicles or electronics. I actually read the manual for my Silverado before i took delivery then reviewed it again after. Nothing new for me here, but thanks for taking the time to produce this for those that don't want to slog thru the manual. It can be quitr boring but if I'm spending that much money for a truck I want to know what it can do ang get my moneys worth.
You can set the cigarette plug in the front to turn on and off with with the key or on all the time. Go to the fuse box. There will be what looks to me as a double fuse. Mine has a 50 on it. Pull that out move it over one prong and your done.
Absolutely awesome video. Shoot no, I did not know most of these things. Neither did the salesperson. Far and away the best Silverado video on the internet. Thank you.
Definitely learned some things! Thank you! On the other hand, I am one of the buyers who would not want somebody at the dealer turning on things like automatic window roll down and automatic heated seats. When you explained at the end that the heated seats won't come on unless it's cold enough that made me a little less agitated for future buyers 😂.
Yes, it’s horrible to have a knowledgeable sales rep to show buyers the options that Jeff spoke on. Obviously, unlike yourself, most clients would love to know these options exist and how to turn them on/off.
@@VState60 You misunderstood what I wrote. I said I don't want them turning those features on at the dealership. I did NOT say I don't want them showing me the features 🤦♂. They should leave the features stock and let buyers decide.
I just bought a Chevy Silverado Costom last week 2023 and i diidnt know any of those thigs thank you so much.I just found your channel and already impresst
I have a 19' Elevation I bought Aug 19' I knew all of these except the seat knee adjustment and the double tap for Siri! That one is pretty big in my opinion. I'll add another...it you tap the "hang up" button on the steering wheel with the radio on it mutes the radio. Took me about 20 months to stumble upon that one!
Did u know that turning the trailer knob to the right enables two different drive settings, sport mode and snow mode, if it's a feature on that vehicle. I have a 2022 Silverado LTD with the turbo four cylinder. In Sport mode it makes the reaction time faster when u press the gas pedal, it's wild!!
I don’t own a truck right now but down the line going to be getting one so I can tow a small camper. I am leaning toward the Chevy Colorado or Silverado. I’ve always had good luck with GM vehicles.
Thank you for showing me the option of using the siri on my phone. The teck guy gave me a 2 hour complete run down of all the features of the truck. He may not have known or forgot to tell me about that cool feature
I tried to do the window thing from me remote a few months ago and it didn't work it was disappointing, but now I know how to do it thanks, and I notice the other day when I was messing with my seat that I could adjust the front where my legs rest. I've learned alot today thanks, the only thing I HATE about this truck is that I can't go faster then 98 miles per hour I have the same truck as the one ur using in the video
98 mph sucks, mine registers 140 on the dash, I'd like to at least get 139.5 out of it, the only way to change that is to have the chip changed or reprogrammed. My tundra would cut out at 116 and I thought that was bad until I got my 2022 Silverado LTD with the turbo four cylinder
An FYI on the hold unlock for all windows down, if you quickly press unlock while they are rolling down, you can stop them wherever they are at that point. Hold unlock again if you want them to go all the way down. Too bad there's not a way to put them up from the remote if it starts raining or you decide to move away from the vehicle and want the windows up and doors locked.

Nice, next you should show people how they can switch the aux 12volt power plugs(cigarette lighter)from constant power to ignition on only by shifting the fuses in the fuse box over a notch. This helps if you have things plugged in, and you don’t want to draw power while not in use!
Just found this out the other day on my 2019 Silverado, I was looking for a option other than constant power on for my dash camera plugged into 12 volt accessory plug , yes just removed fuse panel cover on the passenger side dash and moved the one and only 50 amp fuse one notch and the camera now turns on and off with ignition
Didn't know that about holding the talk button to ask Google a question. I was doing it by the screen. And the blank screen.. So I learned something today..

Not sure about Apple CarPlay, but if you have Android Auto open on the large screen, you cannot see the outside temp anywhere in the vehicle without pressing the Home button to take you out of Android Auto...
The first subject with the bed lights.. Hello GM Jeff… great video man! I did not know about the automatic window down with the FOB. I did not know about the trailer hitch spotlight. That was informative, but I do know that these sidestep assists you and I have do not have end caps. And living here in the north eastern part of the United States. There can be four or five months of snow, snow, slush and road salt. I don’t have a solution to protect the inside of these tubes. I’m not sure an expanding foam will work. But I am willing to try it as I don’t want the salt deteriorating these tubes from the inside. Salt will sit in there for months possibly years. And oh by the way, I like your hat.
On the 2024 models if you push and hold the start button it goes in aux power and the engine will not star. Nice feature if you want access to functions but don't want the engine running.
Good review. I recommend going in and flipping the module in reverse for the windows. I prefer to roll my windows up by remote. As it is now, if it started raining and your windows were already down, you have to walk out in the rain (getting wet) to roll the windows up! The vehicle has remote start and A/C soooo, use that to cool it off before you get to it!
I just learned the Hard Way to disable the rear defroster with remote start. Should be an option in the info center in the newer trucks. Rear window have been Exploding.
You don't have to go all the way to the right to pick what you want on the INFO screen. Use the thumb wheel and go all the way to the bottom until you see "EDIT". Press the thumb wheel and it will bring up the same list to choose from, when done press the left arrow. That will put you back in the INFO screen and if you checked anything else will now be on that INFO screen.
If you want to look directly at the trailer hitch, just open the tailgate and put the cable over sticker on the bed. This will hold the tailgate halfway open to look directly at the hitch

Thanks I have the same Truck ..very helpful.
Awesome!! Glad I could help!
On my 2019 custom, you can hold the radio power button down for about 3 seconds and shut the info screen off.
How about disabling the Auto Stop/Start...forever?
I knew most of it but did learn some things. Thanks!
I have had my RST 2 yrs and didn't know about the voice button or moving icons- OR that lil light on tailgate!!
I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado z71 LTZ. I’m still learning everything about it. 😊😊😊😊
On the 2024 models if you push and hold the start button it goes in aux power and the engine will not star. Nice feature if you want access to functions but don't want the engine running.
Great video! I learned a few things, and I'm a Chevrolet Sales Rep! Thanks for the videos!!
Awesome!! Thanks so much Mark! Happy selling brother!
Awesome content Jeff. Can't wait to try all these features out in my new LTZ chev when it arrives here in Australia.
So glad to see you guys will have them there!! Thanks Shayne!
How do you reverse the module I think that's a great idea
I think to roll the windows up remotely they would need pinch protection, like the front windows have.
need to locate cord for engine block heater...
2021 silverado z71
It comes separately… It’s a loose cable. Often found under the rear seat or in the glove compartment … If you have a block heater that is
thank you!!
The navigation voice command is pretty cool.👍🏼
I just learned the Hard Way to disable the rear defroster with remote start. Should be an option in the info center in the newer trucks. Rear window have been Exploding.
Thanks for this video I learned a few things from it . I didn't know about the heated seats could be set to turn on for warm u
This is very informative. I recently purchased a new 2021 GMC SLT. For me it’s always GM. Many thanks keep ‘em coming!
Our tailgate Will not open. It is electric. Tried everything. We cannot get our suitcases out. But we did learn a lot from this editorial. Thank you
You don't have to go all the way to the right to pick what you want on the INFO screen. Use the thumb wheel and go all the way to the bottom until you see "EDIT". Press the thumb wheel and it will bring up the same list to choose from, when done press the left arrow. That will put you back in the INFO screen and if you checked anything else will now be on that INFO screen.
Learned several things I wasn’t aware of…Thanks!
That’s great!! So glad to hear it was at least of some value to you! 😃👍🏼 Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks I did learn a lot just got a 2022 and did not know all what you went over thanks again
If you want to look directly at the trailer hitch, just open the tailgate and put the cable over sticker on the bed. This will hold the tailgate halfway open to look directly at the hitch
why do this when you can do it from the touch screen?
I always just hit the button to change the view to look at your hitch
@@ZeeCaptainRon 2018 silverado, at least mine doesn't have that option.
@mikshmt91 no button on 2018, at least not mine.
The pause rewind radio feature you mentioned point works on Sirus xm not am or fm unlike pervious models
So excited to try out these new things on my 1993 Chevy Silverado Ext cab 4x4!! 😂😂
Nice stuff. The tailgate light was something new with a few other things. Really nicez
@general mortar Jeff thanks for all the tutorials I’ve learned a tone from watching that I didn’t know before 👊🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Love from Miami. Thank you for the great videos. You helped me buy a ‘23 1500 LTZ.
Did not know about rewinding the radio, thanks!
Cheers ! 😃👍🏼
This is on higher level radios. The 7" IOR in my Trail Boss Custom does not have this feature.
Great video. Thank you for the info!!! 👊👊
Nice to see the infotainment screen options... I had to figure it out all on my own and learned a few things of what you showed. Thanks!
Getting kind of tired of being yelled at everytime I click a truck video lol
I like the feature that bends the pushrods, I make money on that.
The. Black looks so much better than any other color
Great video, I learned most of the things you demonstrated.
@GeneralMotorsJeff
Did not known that about holding down the cell phone talk button and asking Lil' Siri questions.
Great video and thanks.
Wow I never knew that about siri, and the explicit songs, and the horn and lights while locking the truck
Glad I was able to help with some tips then! 😃😃😃👍🏼
