Wu is so upset his voice even cracks lol. What I love about this scene is the fact that both Al and Wu are bosses from completely different cultures and backgrounds but when business gets disturbed Wu knew who to go. The fact Wu walked straight in through the front door told Al everything he needed to know in that it was worth his time and Wu's, protocol be damned. It's really touching in the Deadwood movie how Wu makes sure his grandson bows to Al as in 'this is a great and powerful man who deserves respect'. I'm sure Wu has had many evening fireside 'Swedgen' stories to tell his grandchildren.
Not only is this brilliant writing. But the acting is just next level. Ian McShane is so damn talented, but Keone Young as Mr. Wu is incredible. To do all that with such a limited vocabulary is spectacular.
This show truly is genius.....brilliant script, actors and relationships, it ranks up there with the best of all time.....Deadwood, The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad......watch more than once
Who did this? Wu??? no.. not .... WHO! ... KAK SAKA!!!.... just brilliant! McShane plays the shit out of this character!! If he hadent become an actor, he'd prolly run a bar, and some shady gambling, dope, and prostutution on the side :P
This scene was hilarious. Just goes to show that you dont have to speak the same language as another person to get their drift. At the end ,he understood Mr Wu fluently.
Al and Wu really had one of the best and most entertaining conversations in the whole show and they barely knew what the other was saying. Fkn brilliant writing and acting!
@@daddiusyeah personally I'd say it's good enough of a wrap up not the best but not the worst. At least they did something in a way of trying to end it
Besides the dramatic scenes with Al and the preacher (1st season), AL talking with Wu is the best thing Deadwood ever did. I can't stop laughing every time.
This 1 had me rolling. Still laughing every time I see it. This show really took you back to the rough & tumble days. I miss it the movie didn’t do it justice.
The movie did it plenty of justice - did you watch the same thing? Of course it a 1hr 50min film wasn't going to hit has hard as twelve 50min episodes would, but for the limited time it had, it did excellent. I loved the movie.
David Milch’s brilliant dialogue and the actors’ ability to flawless recite lines that are often very difficult made this series excel. Milch, who was often troubled, supposedly decided to move onto the disastrous “John from Cincinnati,” which bombed quickly.
Woo is OG , funny , many many years later another fellow of dubious behavior said...and i quote : " beware a man that keeps pigs " . seems an ongoing type of thinking . .. hmm , i may have to get a few pigs
Let these writers remake the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Emperor Swearengen: "Who stole my battle station plans?" Darth Wu: "SkyWAKA!" But where the hell would Disney find a female Mr. Wu?
This guy is too good an actor and he portrays Al to perfection.I believe he is acting even better than Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad.Even though Deadwood is a bit boring at times and really slow,it surely has the best casting/acting out of all the series i have seen and i have seen many of them.Only Seth is a bit boring as character.
i really like the series. and i watched it like 2 times. and both times stopped in the middle of the second season...totally strange!!! but some episodes are really boring. now i am thinking about to start again!! hope i finally can finish the whole thing. because i really liked most of it very much! the atmosphere and the first season is really great. specially al.
Swearengen's relationships with Wu and Jewel are some of the best parts of the show.
*the best.
Every steps is a fucking adventure.
I love this scene and laugh my ass off!!

The dialogue in this show is unreal.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I totally agree 😎
just started watching Deadwood and I didn't think it would be that funny but I almost shit myself watching this scene. I laughed until I was crying.

Just like Jimmy Irons!
All of Deadwood's cast were awesome. Damn!!!
I really miss this HBO series.
I've watched this scene too many times, and I still laugh out loud every time.
It's funnier if you think of it after Kaz from AmiYumi ate too much paste.

It's poppy Haynes xo
Continue to get help from people that I am being shown in your heart towards me isn't
I don't know how these two did this scene without losing it...just brilliantly and hilariously done!
the exchanges between Al and Wu are fuckin priceless
I love the hand drawn cartoons for communication purposes lol
"Sit. SIT!...He won't sit."
I laughed real hard at that line.
Johnny doesn’t get enough love in the comments! That character is hilarious 😂
Like he's a dog or some shit lmfao
This scene was hilarious. Just goes to show that you dont have to speak the same language as another person to get their drift. At the end ,he understood Mr Wu fluently.
"I can't understand a god damn thing you're sayin' Wu. I ain't as fucking smart as Al!"
One of the most fuckin' hilarious shows I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Beats any sitcom.
Watch The Sopranos. It's fucking hilarious.

That scene deserved an Emmy
This may be the funniest scene in the entire series😂😂😂
THE TITLICKER!
Lick later!
I rewatched it just now the entire series . It’s amazing especially Ian mcshane playing Al Swearengen
still one of my favorite scenes ever filmed.
This show was utterly Shakespearean. The Mayor is lowkey one of the best characters in this rich ensemble.
The way EB say “The titlicker” 🤣
"Titlicker" LMAO
One of the best damn shows ever! Ian McShane is a treasure!

Al was a legend in this scene ! He was calm and cool until he saw his dope was taken ! lol

Cocksucker sequences with Al and Wu are just solid gold
Al/Wu scenes are the highlight of any episode that has them. I'll bet a dollar that the two of them needed a couple of takes due to cracking up.
Just pisses me off that this show was canceled so early.
3 seasons ain't that bad. A lot of shows got cancelled earlier.

The Greek theatrical influence is palpable

Who? Who.. Who!!!???
Incredible dialogue
I'll never not laugh at the little sigh both Wu and Al give (1:51) before attempting to ford the gulf between each other's language and culture.

One of the most endearing relationships on Deadwood - love the HBO writing, they should produce more like this, Boardwalk Empire, etc.

This has to be my favorite scene of all things Deadwood!!
One of the best scenes in the whole show.

+TheKostarone Fair enough, although I didn;t find deadwood to be boring or slow at all, it was perfection.
It's not an action show. The violence is usually brief and brutal and not at all glorified.
This show is all about character and dialogue.
