Little River Railroad #110 is the smallest 4-6-2 in the world. It was originally built for the Little River Railroad of Tennessee to haul logging trains out of the forest. In this video, the train is running on a portion of the Old Road - the original New York Central mainline from Toledo to Chicago area. Also included in this video is the Indiana Northeastern Railroad running a 45 car long freight train between Reading, Michigan and Pleasant Lake, Indiana on the same weekend.

Actually the whistle on 110 is still the same. When my brother was cleaning it this past spring and grinding the seat he actually made the valve stem stick out further making it easier to open the whistle all the way when you blow it. It's still the same whistle my Dad found for her from an old beer factory.

Yes, the whistle is a 6" diameter short bell STAR BRASS 3 chime. Beauty is, I think the 110 only runs on about 125 or 150 lbs. steam and still pulls great and the whistle sounds great. Kudos to everyone at the operation. I remember the saddle tanker at Hesston / LaPorte. NOW she looks like a million bucks.

Is Star Brass about the same as Baldwin Flat Top 3 chime whistles?
