    I’ve been watching your reviews on this channel and your new channel, car light reviews. Thanks for your work and detailed info! I’m looking for a halogen to LED conversion for my projectors. While they are older, I’m into the SL1 three year warranty and apparent QC offered with these lights. I know there are higher performers out of the box, today;however, is quality a trade off with those? - high performing LEDs that die off in a year or two may not be worth the investment if the SL1 is quantitatively superior to OEM and will out last the competition. Please share your thoughts. Have you considered adding a longevity test to your metrics?

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Před rokem

    Do you drive in rain /inclement weather often? How does the led color impact vision during high moisture content air? Is there a lot of wash out? Any dark spots? 300 more lumens over a halogen bulb doesn't do much if it isn't in the right places...I'm still not a true believer in aftermarket LED drop ins....

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Před 2 lety

      I myself do not drive in bad weather much as I live in the south, but LED upgrades that are are SUPER bright might not be good for that. The SL1 might not be so bad as it is not overdriven, but still a bit brighter than stock. Some companies like DDM make lights that are 4500k which might be e bit better for snow.

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Před 4 lety +1

      That is a great question but it depends on the reflector in the housing. I was at PRI last weekend, and stopped by the Diode Dynamics display to chat with them. I asked why some headlights are perfect for LED upgrades and others have some slight scatter. They explained that it is because the reflector simply wasn't designed to handle that much light output and in some cases, the light may not reach as far as it would with a reflector designed for the light output the LED unit creates.
      In my case, do they reach out further? Yes, without a doubt compared to stock.
