This song is just a banger, and I have totally fallen in love with it. She is so poweful and the performance is perfect. I have watched it probably 20 times and watched many reactionsvids of it, thats how I today found your channel which I also started to like right away.
I have binged almost every video and I really like your reveiws and comments. Not just vocally but also about staging and being for eurovision.
I enjoyed your 2021 vid of the results and agreed a lot. Italy was the right winner but tuff for Finland who could have come really high being alone in that genre. Especially the intro in Dark Side is what makes it one of my alltime favs in ESC. And as you said, it was low in my rankings but today Im proud to have SHUM as my favourite eurovision song. Its just a banger and I get so happy everytime and hear it. And its what eurovision is all about.
Being from Sweden I also liked your ETT for Sweden and I could not agree more for your rankings. Legit spot on, having popular as ESC11 winner, Frans last and Cornelia on top. Cornelias voice and stage presence is just unbeleiveable, After her performance in heat 1, I knew it was the winner.
Actually this song from Norway is what Cornelias competetor Run to the hills from Klara could have been, but I never really liked that song and now I would be really satisfied with the similar but just better Queen of Kings winning eurovision and I can absolutely see it happening. With a bit higher budget on staging I am ready to be blown away. Ofcourse only 7 songs revealed so far but I dont see myself liking any other song more.

OMG look at this! Thank you so much for these kind words and I am happy you like the content I provide. There is a lot for you 2020,2021,2022 all reactions and ETT which is almost finished (still got to catch up with some ex-countries), and plenty more is coming this season. They had a very low budget for staging this year during the national final, so they didn't have LEDs, pyro and the lighting wasn't too great. I bet she will have all of this + more in Liverpool!
I hope she will. I remember in 2020 Ulrikke had that fireworks curtain and stuff but Norway rarely disappoints with the staging at Eurovision. The stage was too dark here though, that could have been better but probably because of the glowing sticks and stuff
I have this song on repeat, gets me pumped up lmaoo. Kinda reminds me of something out of Pirates of the Caribbean.
And the annunciation thing reminds me of how Ariana Grande infamously has had that ~problem (i think it adds to her charm at this point) and she's even joked about it.
Well if it is a singing style it is just a personal preference then, she should do as she pleases
Yeah singers do all sort of stuff that adds character, or they feel work better for their song. Famous example is this Dua Lipa song and how she pronounces "and look at where I am TODAY": czcams.com/video/oygrmJFKYZY/video.html An example of a throaty singer, though I would say she pronounces quite well here is Angelina Jordan. czcams.com/video/qF0JV28vgLw/video.html I even like when Alessandra's voice cracks before the second chorus, as it just feels more gritty/raw and emotional to me, than if she just did a perfect note.
Keep in mind that the broadcaster NRK had to save a lot of money this year with a small budget, so they had no LED screens or pyro fex. It will be on another level in Liverpool (hopefully). Lost momentum? No she didnt, its called a build up. A song cant be up there with the same power and energy all the way through.

The good news is that it sounds like NRK is planning on upping the performance quite substantially in terms of budget, including Pyrotechnics :).
I know that NF performances don't have as high the budget as Eurovision performances but I still believe that the staging was too dark. I'll take a listen, thank you for your recommendation! :)
Norway has shown that they know how to stage and invest in effects in the past few years. I don't doubt this will eleavate by May

@@tosvus It's one of the reasons I started all this. I wanted to talk to people about Eurovision but non of my family or immediate friends are fans so I had to find online friends to talk about it and here we are :)
I love this entry so much, I think with some more money in the staging on the ESC stage it will have a good chance at maybe top 10 😍
I can see it being in the top 10. I am not sure it can win unless they really elevate it but this package, for now, grants them the left side of the scoreboard in my opinion
I don't think you need to worry about staging. The head of the entertainment division of Norwegian broadcasting pretty much agreed with an interviewer that a bigger budget is needed for the Eurovision final, likely Pyrotechnics. Alessandra has confirmed they will be looking at the costume as well (though I will say I am quite happy with her costume in the final already. The lighting was also improved a bit, but still think it could be better. At least they listened to my advice on changing the purple light during the bridge to a more mellow orange/red light. I think her voice was really good actually and had no issue understanding her. I do know what you mean, anybody that speak a bit more from the back of the throat (or just people with deeper voices) are a bit harder to understand, but I don't think that is something that is worth making changes for because you lose vocal qualities. In a similar vein, vocalists often mispronounce words ON PURPOSE to make sounds less harsh and words flow better.
People told me about the broadcaster's decision so that is good to know. You said they listened to your advice, that's nice if they are listening to fans or if you are directly involved in the team. About her voice, I guess it's just a personal preference, nothing wrong with it. She doesn't have to change it ofc, that is her singing voice and that is all fine. The song sounds more epic with deeper vocals anyways. She has a great control, that high note is amazing, and I also think she might be twisting words a bit to achieve the flow as you mentioned
@@esc_victor08 Absolutely. In this case I'm sure they read mine or some other people's similar comments possibly, and that's nice. (I do personally know people in the team of about half the competitors in MGP this year, but not Alessandra, and she was still my favorite haha)
