Dee here's the recipe for the calaloo,, wash and cut the leaves , place it in coconut milk, add onion, garlic, mix herbs , add( okra if you want ) allow it to cook for 30mins , add salt and pepper to taste , blend to a smooth consistency. Enjoy

The plums that Shane was picking when you were about to climb the hill is call red coat or yellow coat plum. It is different from june plum

I had a Grenadine friend in in middle school in Brooklyn back in the early eighties. She had such a beautiful spirit, we got along really well and I never forget her. Seeing how the people in the video make me not realize that Grenadines are just all wandering people. Thanks for sharing 🇯🇲

Dee in Jamaica we call it hog plum
Hi Dee. So Jamaicans, Belizeans and I think Guyanese use amaranth leaves to prepare what they call callaloo. Amaranth leaves are similar to collard greens. It basically spinach. In Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and some other Caribbean islands, callaloo is made from taro or dasheen leaves. This is what callaloo truly is. It looks like a soup. There's another way to prepare the leaves similar to the preparation of the amaranth leaves that we call bhagie. You haven't had callaloo until you have the soup like version made with dasheen or taro leaves.
Dasheen leaves are used in St. Lucia. Amaranth is also used in St. Lucia. They call it zepina🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨

The calaloo just cook it in a little bit of water then sautéed in onion and garlic with other seasoning. Very heavy but it's just the leave of the heart of the vegetable, you could cook it with lentil 🫛 ❤❤❤

We call them Jamaica plums they 49:39 are half ripe .when they are fully ripe they are red outside and yellow inside

See our callaloo is made from dasheen leaves in coconut milk with the main ingredient being ochres and pumpkin and your seasonings mainly onions and garlic and your powder seasonings with peppers if you wish

Dee, in Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago we use the Dasheen leaves to make calaloo. What you use in Jamaica to make calaloo we call in Bhagi or spinach in Trinidad. You can check CZcams under Trinidad Calaloo to learn how we make it.

Dee, there are different colors in tomatoes, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple and black, it is not only red, plus there is different type based on shapes, from the grapes size to the large beefsteak size......even though the most common one are the red on the vine size...but all types of tomatoes are green before they ripe......
I left Grenada in 1999 and coconut was 25 cents for one , when I heard three dolls for one I almost fall of my chair
