I severely disliked Charlamagne after that interview. Imagine being a grown ass man insulting a young black girl like that? Idc what Lil Mama did that was not funny especially when she was crying about her mom.
Yeah that was so very low of him I watched the interview she held those guys back from beating his a** you can see in the interview where she was holding her hand out like chill
No there was a reason. Not everyone's used to her type of energy and personality and there's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes you gotta just read the room. I don't think she deserves the hate that she gets even tho she's annoying
They had to cause all these higher ups and the radio stations really bashed her like the one on this video with the white radio hosts. That shit was wild
The way people treat her is so unwarranted. Especially because most of the people coming for her was ATLEAST 10 years her senior. It wasn't even her peers or folks her age. She is beyond her years.
The entertainment industry is a joke. The fact that a grown man and grown woman were mad at a teenager and couldn’t forgive is a literal joke. And Alicia keys and jay z have far worse skeletons that ppl always forget.
I am so happy that Beanie Segal came to her defense when he had his interview with the Breakfast Club. He checked the hell out of Charlagay the Goddess!
I don't think people ever take the time to consider the fact that she was a kid. I think she's been treated very poorly, and I feel so bad for her. I do appreciate how Beanie Sigel stood up for her, and how MC Lyte tried to help her.
I hate how the industry treated her. I was 14 when she did that at the VMAs and I almost cried because of how Twitter and the media treated her after. She was my fave female rapper at the time, all the other girl felt to sexual for me and lil mama was perfect for me at that age. I felt seen listening to her. Funny how the media uses the same argument to say female rappers are TOO sexual, but lil mama was TOO childish back then
I feel so sorry for her. You never know what someone is going through. I just wished she was treated better and not always made fun of or talked about in a negative way
She was headstrong, but she was a kid when she came into the spotlight. She lost her mother to cancer 6 months after her breakout single, and she was only 18 by the time she crashed the VMA performance. But instead of offering her some guidance, all these grown people just insulted, talked down to and dogpiled on her. I always hated that, and it's one of the reasons I will never respect Charlamagne.
The way guys talk to her in interviews is sick, and I hate that she takes it. Seems like she just wants to be liked and it’s sad cause people will always find something wrong with everything she does
I agree. That baby is always being ridiculed about something. She lost her mother who she was very close too, that's probably another reason why she tries to fit in.
Ppl really assassinated her character throughout her entire career. She always stood her ground throughout it all. Seems like she's been bullied around in the industry.
If misunderstood was a person 💔. I think after her mom passed away , she had no one to protect nor defend her so she went extra hard/aggressive to protect herself. Her refusal to back down in an industry of “ yes men “ didn’t go over well and made her a constant target. However, you have to admire her resiliency❤! Great video!

Objectively I can tell you that the artist Lil Mama was attacked throughout her career not for her impulsive actions but because she didn't behave the way the other industry plants - disguised as artists - behave! She clearly had a behavioural line that she was not prepared to cross not for love nor money! Unlike those industry plants who sell their soul for fame and fortune Lil Mama clearly refused to do likewise. She has way too much dignity, integrity and class to compromise her grounded principles. None of the things she did should have garnered this type of outrage. Just shows that a lot of society doesnt think for themselves and dislike certain celebrities because a richer/better known one said you should.
So people can forgive chris browns violent history but draws the line when it comes to Lil Mama jumping on stage with jayz and alicia keys 15 years ago??!? Makes sense, and tbh she made that snooze fest of a performance memorable.
That Kiss 104.7 interview was absolutely deplorable. There are plenty of times where a celebrity does not want to address a certain topic, and they have that right. The cast of that show was rude, unprofessional, and ignorant. The 'she was raised differently' comment was completely out of line. I thought you was doing too much with the trigger warning at the beginning but nah you was right 😂 I got triggered immediately. yes she was blunt, but they need to be able to handle that better as interviewers.
I feel like she’s always been confident in herself. I think she just came off as cocky or arrogant to people. People were so mean back then. I loved her.

She was standing on business the strong way, but it's like the world didn't want to agree with her even when she was on point. I'm glad she found success despite the myriad of complications. That's the problem. black people are less forgiving. I’ve never been a “fan” of Lil Mama but I’ve also never understood why people hate her THAT much. Also, the Bow Wow comparison was weird and never funny to me.
She was always at the wrong place at the wrong time. She needed to keep her mouth shut and stop trying to be “relatable”. I wish she just became an actress and left music alone.
I like her but I don't like how they portrayed he on growing up hip hop. Like she was a predator going after Charlie Baltimore's daughter. It was weird AF.
I love her pivot into softness. Her resiliency is commendable. Say what you want but she had the valor to be herself and the foresight to fall back and come out a swan. People love to harp on mistakes but sharing your art w the world as it is attacking you shows real character. Also, there so much rhetoric about "women rappers need to rap about more then s*x" Yet LM did just that and was vehemently rejected. And to think so many powerful black men allowed her to be publicly disrespcted (by white men nonetheless) and even were the perpetrators. We all deserve grace. I'm glad she didn't go disappear obscurity
Ppl really bullied her so bad I didn’t like that. Yea she did say some outlandish things but that’s not a reason to constantly beat someone down spiritually
That radio station is super racist she is talking real stuff with people 3 times her age and she is more mature then they are. Funny how she was very calm and these devils are saying she wasn't raised right loll turn the mirror and look at your self.

I like her but I don't like how they portrayed he on growing up hip hop. Like she was a predator going after Charlie Baltimore's daughter. It was weird AF.
Lmfao the f wrong w Charlemagne.. disgusting to treat anyone like that 🤮🥴
She was def bullied and harassed in her career due to some things she did when she was a teen. I feel for her. She’s fiesty but not malicious person.
Real talk NOBODY would've remembered that performance if Lil Mama didn't walk on the stage. And that's on my life. I'm from NYC so that says a lot
Salute to Lil Mama fir having da "baws" to speak out against certain agendas & communities that's pushing bs on our culture
Praise for little mamas mother who passed from cancer....im sorry little mama💚💚💚
I love Lil Mama she is not a sell out like some people
Ppl really bullied her so bad I didn’t like that. Yea she did say some outlandish things but that’s not a reason to constantly beat someone down spiritually
Two minutes in and I can not this is so sad.
That radio station is super racist she is talking real stuff with people 3 times her age and she is more mature then they are. Funny how she was very calm and these devils are saying she wasn't raised right loll turn the mirror and look at your self.
#Thatpart!!
I’ve always liked lil mama , ppl are just hateful 🤦🏽♀️
“I hop up in the ring with a brand new ring” OMG the memories 😂 I forgot all about that freestyle. I love Lil Mama but it has always been a tough battle being a fan of hers having to defend her time and time again. Glad to see she’s doing so much better now and gorgeous as ever! You go girl ❤
She's from Brooklyn, New York!! Recognize, we don't take any shit from anyone!! To those people from the radio station, y'all are full of it!!
Hmmm how about Chrisette Michelle? I think people were not so forgiving with her....
Already on the list! I never canceled her. Her music remains in FULL rotation on my playlists 😎

She spoke truth, and walked in it. Demons don't like real.
