for the app drawer, I just made folders and for all the icons I will never use I held my finger on the home screen and went under home screen options and hidden icons to hide alot of the stuff that normally would have been in the way of me quickly finding things in my lg g4s app drawer. highly recommend this set up it's so much simpler

Ive had the Lg G5 since it came out. I got it as a free upgrade, and I have been very happy with it. I have also owned other LG phones. All Lg phones seem to have a few things in common 1: They are cheap 2: They are actually good even though they are cheap 3: all of their parts are easy to replace, and cheap to find on ebay or aftermarket. I cannot stress how big of a plus this last one is, because I have shattered my screen 3 times, and have replaced it each time with a 30$ one on ebay. I have also replaced the camera as well for about 20. Overall if you feel that 800$ for a brand new samsung seems like a dumb decision, you are probably right, just buy a 1 year old LG instead. My G5 is 3 years old, and I am considering spending 150-200$ to upgrade to the V30.
got the lg g5 as an alternative to the note7 had the note4 and was waiting for the note5 to be released in the uk disappointed it didn't waited again for the note7 when it finally arrived we all know what happened with the recall this was the straw that broke the camels back how long do you want to drip feed your customers with technology to then apologize for a overpriced potentially fatal malfunctioning device. so done my research and was drawn to the g5 and what a phone i am so happy with this device its different in a classy kinda way dose everything i need and has everything i wanted in the note removable battrey sd slot usb type c connection .. not to mention the dual camera the list goes on.. great video btw!!!
Great video. I've used both Samsung and LG smartphones and I prefer LG. Their products suit better to my tastes and needs. And their software support is a lot better than the one from Samsung. More updates and improvements
I realize i'm late but LG Home 4.0 is the LG Launcher that was preInstalled on the LG G4, and LG V10... if you are upgrading to a 2016 flagship then you wouldnt want a old Launcher with minimal changes. a new update that has come out has LG Home 5.0, and this is ment for the G5, with a app drawer.
Im watching from my awesome LG V40, i came here to show someone about the amazing battery concept on the G5. Regrettably the G5 had screen burn issues and i returned it after 2 weeks. This was one of my favorite concepts and most regrettable phone to say goodbye to. After having two xperias i came back to LG for the great wide angle lense and HiFi Qaud Dac sound. If LG got rid of the notch and added a larger battery and dedicatedcamera shoot button like the Xperia you would have the ultimate phone.
+1 for the spare battery! Any idea on what we could do about it now that LG has decided to abandon the removable battery on their G6? The only option I can think of is to go for a bigger battery smartphone, like the OnePlus 3T, or Motorola Moto Z Force
1st thing to do if your service provider has a "buyers remorse" policy is return it and exchange it for something else. It heats up all the time. The power button is on the back (super annoying). If you play games your hand will almost always cover the speaker and hit the easily pressed volume rocker. There's more but I'll leave it at that. I returned mine and got something better.

You can get this phone around 300$ now...camera just better than my DSLR ..... May time to change my battery but after two year Im still happy with this G5 . Its a awesome cellphone. I have one too. Sent mine back to the manufacturer however hoping to get it replaced however the company saw nothing wrong with the device because of screen bleed or white dots appearing on the LCD caused by light or sunlight. unfortunately not getting a new one. I have had the G4 before and now the G5. the G5 is an amazing phone. I just want the phone back now. I recommend the phone rather than a Samsung Edge for the truly better camera. Quality goes a long way. its all about the F stop. :)

Former owner, my first recommended thing to do would be to return it. I've owned all the LG G phones before this one and this was the absolute worst, I really wanted to love it too.. The G6 fixed everything that was wrong with this
To solve the app drawer issue I just made a giant folder with all of my apps in it and I called it "Apps" xD... Disgusting that I had to do that, but it at least partially works... The only problem is every time you install a new app you have to drag it into the folder yourself... Hopefully an update comes out soon allowing the app drawer to be toggled on and off because I'm starting to get really tired of shoving all of my new apps into a folder and then having to reorganize them just so that I can keep my LG Skin.
Is there a way to set fingerprint for use in apps (like a bank app) without having the fingerprint lock screen?! The problem I had with installing a 3rd party launcher on my V10 was that you can't double tap to turn off the display. It would work with double tapping the notification bar at the top but that's such a small area it was not practical. Nova Launcher also has a Gesture for assigning apps to things like swiping up/down or double tapping the home screen. I was able to assign a screen lock app to the double tap feature however, It didn't just turn off the screen it manually locked the screen which bypassed my smartlock via Moto360. Basically If you wanna use LG's phones you're gonna want to use LG's launcher because it is heavily tied to the Hardware. Having the power button on the back makes double tap to wake/turn off a necessity.
chris schnaidt Yeah I mentioned that in my comment but it doesn't just turn off the screen it manually locks it. Which means next time I open it its not auto unlocked by Smart Lock. The situation this applies to is when i'm Driving (which is where I use my phone a lot for music and maps) When it's on the dock mount I can't access the power button but when I use double tap on Nova to activate a screen off app it manually locks the phone bypassing smart lock, and I have to use my code to get in again (because the fingerprint is also on back). Now I have to try and type in my code while driving which is not safe. Make sense?

does the VPN setting tunnels ALL of the traffic through it once its set up (ie: Facebook, games, banking apps, ect ect) or just the browser traffic?

Nova Launcher also has a Gesture for assigning apps to things like swiping up/down or double tapping the home screen. I was able to assign a screen lock app to the double tap feature however, It didn't just turn off the screen it manually locked the screen which bypassed my smartlock via Moto360. Basically If you wanna use LG's phones you're gonna want to use LG's launcher because it is heavily tied to the Hardware. Having the power button on the back makes double tap to wake/turn off a necessity.
you just download screen off app...then add double tap turn off screen in your launcher using that app....easy peasy
chris schnaidt Yeah I mentioned that in my comment but it doesn't just turn off the screen it manually locks it. Which means next time I open it its not auto unlocked by Smart Lock. The situation this applies to is when i'm Driving (which is where I use my phone a lot for music and maps) When it's on the dock mount I can't access the power button but when I use double tap on Nova to activate a screen off app it manually locks the phone bypassing smart lock, and I have to use my code to get in again (because the fingerprint is also on back). Now I have to try and type in my code while driving which is not safe. Make sense?

+Bastiaan did you not read my comment? I mentioned that already, but trying to double tap a specific part of the phone that is literally 3mm wide is impractical. especially while driving.

How come I did't get the double tap up volume feature for the memo pad? My lg g5 didn't include that feature.
