Shop foreman needs to be replaced, no safety lights? Two operators up front one lifted by a truck, the other standing behind the dies... Reaching through them no less.. While the machine is completely operational. Bravo 👏

This press would naturally be installed in a pit, so the table was at a workable height.

I'm watching and I still can't understand why the dies need to be 10' off the ground or why there isn't a more permanent work paltform.

Well, that certainly seemed to take long enough to make ONE bend. Seemed to be plenty of discussion going on, there, as well- maybe they were just checking the brake out with a test bend ?

Handling of the sheet seems a problem and was that bend 90 degrees? What was the thickness of the plate? Transporting this machine must be a nightmare.

Call me an a-hole, but it seems like Russia, Europe, and Asian nations are in constant competition to make a machine (of any type) that is bigger than anything the USA has, with very little practical use for it, just so they can thumb their noses at the USA and say "Haha, we built a bigger 'thing' than you did".
To me that break press seems almost unusable. I don't see any machinery to feed it and handle the material while the press is operating. Unless they are going to add a crap ton more machinery to make it useful, it seems pretty useless to me.
For instance. A few years ago, China built a crane that was 1000 tons. But it was totally stationary and could only go up and down and it spanned a tiny little river no more than about 100 feet wide, which it didn't look like you could get any barges under it. Why would you want to pick up a load and then set it back down in the same spot? Again, I think it was just to compete with the USA.
As for Russia. The USA built the MOAB bomb out of necessity. We used it to clear forests for landing helicopters. So naturally Russia created the FOAB. Just to one up the USA. But from what I understand, there are serious doubts as to whether the bomb actually worked or not, and if it did, they only built 1 or 2 of them. Again, it just seems like a pissing match to me.

wouldnt a hydraulic table under the sheet work better than having some guy lift you up and down with the forks? one slip up on the forklift operators part and you come down and have that sheet hit your neck and your done for good.
