I don’t feel sorry for op in story 1, she is choosing to have a lifetime of anger and resentment and what ifs and living under a shadow of a dead person. That relationship was doomed from the start itself when he did not give her any proper wedding, he probably wanted a good babysitter , but it’s kind of nice seeing that the kids are sweethearts, which honestly is kind of a surprise seeing that their dad is a huge POS . Probably they got that mature behavior from op or their bio mom when she was alive . Does op really think counseling is gonna solve this and they’ll be happily skipping of into sunshine land ? I hope she’s not that delusional .
As long as the dad continues to put forward the effort at home and in therapy to be the best dad/husband he can be, although it likely will never be perfect, I think working through it is possible. Then again, I do also acknowledge it is possible the whole thing could just continue to blow up. But acting as if a doomed marriage is an absolute certainty is a stretch.
He bring a ghost of a wife, little affection anf two kids and while you bring none of those things, you gave and accepted too much and receive almost nothing in return. I don't even feel sorry for you, if you had any self respect you would have not even started dating this dude 🤷🤷
