Instead of the mic stands in front of your faces, perhaps move them behind? Not sure of the logistics of the room.

The only problem with that being, those are dynamic mics so they work best when they are directly in front of your face. They could probably use low profile mic stands, so at least there isn't giant boom coming across. Otherwise a nice clip on lavalier mic would probably be the best option.
