Great upload. Thank you for this documentary! Could you please add English subtitle? I understand Dutch, but as an INDO born in NL also I believe this elaborate piece of history should be available for the whole world. The INDO is still victim of this history. Our goverment does not support us, because they just want us to become extinct. The Dutch goverment is East Indisch deaf. One thing our INDO parents taught us: who does not want to listen, must feel!

@@MrHidayatSyariv I don't know much about that if I am honest. Are your people doing realy better now ? I understand that being your own boss is always better anyway but I mean quality of life too ?
@@pim1234 I should mention this, beautiful times for the Dutch at that time. Because you were literally the first class citizens with all your privileges and meanwhile we were the third, we couldn't even go to school.
If you compare it with the quality of life in the Netherlands of course we are far behind. I'm not gonna deny that. Smaller country with smaller population, easier to manage. Indonesia on the other hand is of course harder to manage, bigger population, bigger country. Just imagine you govern a country that stretches from London in England, to Kabul in Afghanistan. That's how huge Indonesia is. But we are actually very optimistic about our future. We believe our country is on the right path to reach its goals.
And if you asked what if the Nederlands-Indië still existed to this day under the Dutch government, could it have been a better country? To be honest, I don't know. Maybe yes, maybe no.With their knowledge, there's a lot of areas that the dutch is obviously capable of or good with compared to the Indonesians, such us city planning. If Indonesia was still under the dutch, I believe our cities would be as beautiful as it is in the Netherlands. But the question is, would the dutch share it with the natives? Because back then, only the dutch have privilege to live in beautiful cities with their beautiful houses meanwhile us live in the Kampongs, in our wooden houses.
Interessant dat we dit niet op school kregen vroeger. (Ik tenminste niet) Ik hoor hier ook bijna niets over. Terwijl dit misschien wel het belangrijkste onderwerp is in de Nederlandse geschiedenis. Hoe komt dit denk je?
Tja, goede vraag. Denk prioriteiten. Nu is dat anders overigens en wordt er wel aandacht aan besteed.
Is het zo dat je nog iets van vijandigheid oid voelt, als je daar heden ten dage als Nederlander rondloopt? Misschien alleen van ouderen? Of geheel niet?

het Indonesische volk heeft al vastgesteld wat er in het verleden is gebeurd, en ook nu nog beschouwt het Indonesische volk de Nederlanders als hun oudere broers

ik vind dat als je niet van indisch afkomst bent dat je jezelf moet bezig houden met je eigen duivelse geschiedenis, wat hier in nederland heeft afgespeeld ik maak me wel druk om wat daar is gebeurt.
