I bought a spurgeon study bible in goatskin leather from Amazon, it’s so so soft, and the inside is full of great scripture 😊 goatskin leather feels so luxurious
The ESV is actually very far to the word for word end of the scale, the NIV is closer to the idea for idea end. The CSB is very much in the middle.
It's great that you liked the similarities of your 2 translations (but you've found a reason to want a word for word translation lol)
I had strong feelings towards certain translations, but ultimately, the "best bible" is the one you read. Anything that brings someone to God's enduring word is wonderful!

The message bible is more of a paraphrase. NLT is idea for idea. ESV is very word for word. NIV is closer to idea for idea, but fairly central on the scale, and CSB is very much in the middle of the scale. You'll enjoy the ESV! God bless!

Ordered this on Sunday so I was searching for reviews. I’m so excited!! If I’m not mistaken, it did say it was leather-like so not real leather. :) I’m hoping I’m okay with the double column because I’m used to single column. Congratulations on your new Bible! ❤

ESV supports predestination and Calvinism. Were you aware of this? CSB supports free will.
Thats very interesting, I did not know that! Well, I am not Calvinist and I have not found my ESV to be that different from my past NIV bibles
