      The fact that the Lion King is not represented more at DAK blows my mind. They have a perfect opportunity and are considering using renown Disney animal IP....Indiana Jones. Wtf.

    • @belgianbull4722
      @belgianbull4722 Před měsícem +1

      @@russmacc316 i think the Lion King is already represented well at Animal Kingdom, with the show and the opportunity of an African safari where you get to see real animals inHarambe . Animal Kingdom used to be different and about creating a next level immersive zoo experience, but with Indiana Jones, Encanto, and Avatar they have moved away from the original version . And don't get me wrong i love the Avatar part of the park and would love to see Indiana Jones, Lion king, and Enacanto at the Orlando resort, just not at Animal Kingdom. They have ruined Epcot, and looks like they about to ruin AK as well. The parks used to each have a unique identity , but that is no longer the case.

    I LOVE the idea of Villain Land being inside a massive building! Oddly enough...I still find the Magic Kingdom location ideal, as part of the "story," if you will--an ominous "threat" to the Magic Kingdom, symbolically outside the traditional border of the railroad, for the Beyond Big Thunder project.

    • @carterbarley3350
      @carterbarley3350 Před měsícem +9

      That's exactly what I was thinking and while it would be cool for the villain area to be at DHS, I do still prefer it going to MK so we do that ominous threat idea which I think is really cool. If it still happens at MK, it would be cool for the old Villain Mountain concept to be brought back and finally made.

    If they do a Villains land, they should recieve the old Dragon Tower roller coaster concept from the scrapped Beastly Kingdom concept, I’m sure Vekoma can whip up a really good family invert, or if they wanna go big, maybe a full-blown looping invert coaster.

    I very much want Animation Courtyard and expansion area in Hollywood Studios to be re-themed to the 1926 Walt Disney Studio on Hyperion Ave.
    Go all in on that old Hollywood feel on that side of the park and give us an Oswald E-ticket attraction that pays homage to old DHS and the old Backlot Tour.
    Using Iger’s old presentation on Oswald and the images of him in different properties, I picture Oswald as a Deadpool-style, 4th wall breaking, meta character that can take guests on a journey through old Disney properties given the idea that he’s been collecting dust backstage for years. Sort of hijacks a tour of the 1926 The Walt Disney Studio and goes off on his own adventure.
    I just want that old Hollywood feel next to Sunset Boulevard.

    08:56 A Fantasia ride with a surrounding Buena Vista Street inspired area (maybe minus Carthay Circle theater) would be such an ideal replacement for the Animation Courtyard. It's had quite the cult following, even if our generation isn't as familiar with it. So many fans would love to see a giant Chernabog animatronic.

    Also I’ve always thought a Nightmare Before Christmas land at Hollywood Studios could be fun. I think the atmosphere could be really unique because we don’t have any charmingly spooky areas at Disney. Also, it would kind of represent the horror genre in a way, which suits Hollywood Studios well.

    This idea totally stands out because when Walt Disney World Resort neared its 50th anniversary's end and as Disney 100 Years of Wonder flew through, the villains were nowhere in the parks until Fantasmic. The Disney Park performance stages, including Fantasmic and the Disney Cruise Line ship stages ought to have special effects; to have allusions of the characters perform, sing, dance and re-enact their movies' plots and commit new ones.

    I‘ve wondered if they would consider adding a version of Radiator Springs out past the Racing Academy show building. There is a decent amount of land out that way.

      Should be simple to turn the former animation courtyard into a full Pixar Place. They just need to find a way to connect it to the racing academy and roller coaster in the back. Probably can’t recreate Cars Land, but Cars 3, basically set much of the story at a Florida race track. So fans could visit Radiator Springs in CA, or travel to FL for the actual racing.

Expanding Journey of imagination back with the Dreamfinder but newer revamped version is something I would like to see. The original version was so much better. @UmmYeahOk Před měsícem

      lol. You do realize that they had a pretty sweet show at Magic Kingdom, Legend of the Lion King, in the 90s, before replacing it with some movie, right? It was the equivalent to Voyage of the Little Mermaid, with the amount of cast it required to run all the puppets. They would also have a float in various MK parades, AK’s Festival of the Lion King basically reused floats from an entire full Lion King parade. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is just a name, but Timon and Rafiki made a ton of appearances as meet and greets throughout multiple parks. EPCOT had an environmental film at The Land Pavilion that was animated at MGM Studios explaining the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Not to mention parts of the actual movie being animated there as well. Imagine actually SEEING Lion King being animated in real time.
      I mean, sure, it’s not an entire themed land, but every time people would get upset about the amount of Frozen exposure at the parks, I would have to remind them about The Lion King. Two stage shows, a park movie, and parade floats. ….pretty much more than Frozen ever had (before they made Arendale into a land)

    • @lucash5446
      @lucash5446 Před měsícem +3

      @@UmmYeahOk you are proving my point. A show, some meet and greets, etc. is nothing to write home about when it comes to one of the most popular animated films of all time. Not using this IP on a large scale in AK has always been such a missed opportunity.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk Před měsícem

      @@lucash5446yeah, but as far as AK goes, they did. When the park opened, they had this show, a Pocahontas themed live animal show, Journey into the Jungle Book which lasted a second till it was replaced with Tarzan. Despite being a budgeted thing, it remained a big deal, constantly filling seats.
      Sure It’s Tough to Be a Bug got the funding and spotlight. And other than the Safari, Countdown to Extinction was the big E ticket ride. But the Dinosaur movie did not exist yet. So really, as far as IP went, you had a Tarzan Rocks, Tough to be a Bug, and Legend of the Lion King, the oldest movie represented. Even when they had Kite tails, the alternate show was Lion King. Rivers of Life, some Lion King. Heck, they even play “music that inspired the Lion king” piped in throughout the park. This was an album my folks foolishly bought by mistake, but as an adult am grateful that they did. If you have never heard the album and are a LK fan, I suggest searching for a playlist.

They could do maleficent castle as the main focus for that land and everything ,For Animal Kingdom I would love a lion King dark ride attraction instead of another avatar attraction, I feel like kids don’t know what avatar is, kids lion King way more, as for Hollywood Studios, I would take that Star Wars launch bay area in animation, courtyard, and do a monsters Inc. area, I’ve read rumors that they were gonna do it along time ago, but that never happened, they could turn rock ‘n’ roll roller coaster into a monsters Inc. door factory roller coaster which would be really awesome and it would fit in that area, the vehicle would be adore and you would go through multiple doors or just going threw the factory trying to rescue boo, or they could do a Wall-E attraction because there’s no rides or attractions for that movie or even an Incredibles attraction, they could turn rock N roller coaster into an incredicoaster but indoors

The dark ride would be completing a mission and the coaster is the escape of the dark castle

    I actually really love the indoor Villains land, but I don’t really think it will fit in that space at Studios because not all of those backstage areas can be removed. I think Monster’s Inc is a great choice there, and Villains should either be at MK or would be a great option for a 5th gate!

    I've always thought Lion King needed its own attraction so that would be a fun addition and the Monsters Inc & Villains Land sound like cool ideas too! If it were me I would want to add a WallE attraction at EPCOT and they could make that work at the Imagination Pavilion. I've also always wanted an Up attraction as well where riders could feel like they are in Carl's house with Russell, Dug and Kevin, not sure where that could fit in. Anyways, great job on the video always fun to watch and informative to watch even if this one was just rumors!

    Villainsland in a box would work brilliantly. As an attraction designer I love Neptune's Kingdom (in a box) in Tokyo Disney Sea as its perpetually dark, gets you out of the weather and feels like you are going from one World to another as you play with temperature changes, so this principle would work well. Whether Hollywood Studios is the right location, I'm not sure, it's natural home does feels more like Magic Kingdom. I just hope Disney really start putting the money where there mouth has been for far too long!

    My question is, why not extend the section to include a retheme gor RNR, or even ToT? Obviously nobody wants ToT's theme to go away, but I'm sure it's inevitable, so why not include them? If they did, they could just extend the building to connect RNR and retheme the exterior of the existing building while it's indoors. Hell you could even make it another incredicoaster with the villains from the movies.

The indoor aspect made complete sense for this land and the theming was outstanding (it was better than the actual flagship attraction of the land!). As for the Villains Land: I think I'm on record somewhere saying it's a far better fit for the Studios, especially considering it's the park with Fantasmic. But I'm also on record saying this won't be a land. What would they do? Villain Con? Villains Campus? Even if they come up with some reason for a land, then what do they do for rides? There are too many Disney villains to be figuring out which ones get rides. I think this is why concept art for the constantly-whispered-about Villains Land is always so nebulous. They only have ideas for a ride, one where a whole bunch of Villains pop up. Their "Monsters Unchained" if you will. "Fantasmic: The Ride". I wouldn't be surprised to find them coming up with ideas for a movie where certain villains come together in a specific place to destroy characters, for reasons. Maybe some Princess thing where Ursula, Maleficent, Jafar, Evil Queen, whoever hates Princesses, show up in, oh... somewhere not medieval (Classic Monsters) ... Yzma's Secret Lab from Emperor's New Groove and then they plot against the Princesses blah blah blah. "Now we have a Peruvian village where you can buy Peruvian handicrafts and then you enter Yzma's Secret Lab where blah blah blah."

    Hollywood Studios needs that Villain Kingdom, make the exterior Maleficents castle ontop of a mountain and you enter into the mountain making the land indoors but then the rides could be
    The Jolly Rodger a classic pirate ship flat ride themed to Captain Hook
    Poor Unfortunate Souls could be a ride like Twirl and Hurl at Universal themed to Ursala
    And the main ride of the land "Dragons Cave" a vekoma suspended family coaster themed to Maleficent
    But the land could also feature
    A Cruella De Vil gift shop
    A Bippity Boppity Boutique parody with Lady Tramaine
    And The Rotten Apple a restaurant themed to the Evil Queen
    And of course every other villain will be represented in other ways and the land should be called "Villains Hideout" with the theme of all the villains hiding from the heroes of Disney in Maleficents castle
