I have an Abu Garcia Orra 7:1 with Vertios 6.5 rod, 30 lb braid. Awesome set up for top water.
The Orra 5:4 is set up for crank
I like Abu Garcia gear. Got 3 bass rods and alot of my heavy catfish gear is Abu's

i also got the combo. i am very impressed by the reel. its perfect. the rod is nice too. i have the 10-40 gramm version. but when you throw 10 gramm lures the rod is not charging enough. my personal feeling is that the actual casting wheight is around 20 to 60 gramm. over all a very smooth combo that can handle some really strong fish. nice video man

I know this was posted a while ago, I am new the baitcaster reels and wanted to know what that orange pull/button is on the right hand side.
I haven’t seen anyone mention anything about it and I cannot figure out what it is for.
The max pro gear are the same as promax3?
How much does the combo weigh in grams?
i will say these budget abu setups KICK ASS, but the only thing is they start making all kinds of wack noises which is my only complaint but very easy to use and a definite bang for your buck
I bought the abu Garcia max pro I was casting it a few times yesterday but I had gotten it snagged but when I got it unsnagged and tried casting my rod and it was like too tight for it to drop down on its own and needed to hold the spool down and turn the reel handle and I’d have to spin it multiple times and it got loose but it’s happening multiple times after a good cast can anyone help me out
Try loosening the spool tension all the way and seeing if it’ll free fall
just bought one lets see

What line did you spool it with?
12 pound Flouro usually. Unless Im gonna use it for something special. Frog, jig, Topwater etc.

Yes. The MaxPro is a very nice combo.
want to buy this rod, but my main concern is traveling with it without getting damaged because it’s so long. Do you have any solutions?
There are a couple companies like Kastking that sells two piece rods. If I’m carrying it in a car that’s what I do. With my truck I run it through my back window. Are you in a car, truck or SUV?
I drive an SUV. I’m certainly able to bring the seats down.
I have a 7 foot spinning rod that I stuff in my 2 door Camaro. Buying this next so we will see! 😂
Anyone else find the brakes stiff? I can't get my lure to fall any faster than snail pace....
The brakes don’t usually keep the lure from falling, adjust your spool tension. The brakes keep the spool from spinning freely. Hope this helps.

I'm having a problem with mine. So when I reel in it sounds like the line is grinding with the top hole I've tried alot of different things to stop this but nothing has worked if you could help me please do. Thank you
I have had other reels do this, for me I had to remove the spool from the reel. The gap between the spool and the reel is to big for smaller line Flouro and Mono or just about all braid. Check and see if that helps.

is it a two piece rod
No just a one piece. Not even sure if it’s available in a two piece.
Bought it without realizing it’s not a 2 piece
Lunkerhunt and Kastking both make two piece combos or just change out the rod. When your buying these kit it’s basically buy the reel we give you a rod.
I have this combo and the tip insert has a little chunk out of it. Without taking the whole things off and replacing do you k ow of a different option?
