Zach..I didn’t get a pair but I may as well. These would fit the bill as an all purpose basketball training shoe for on court work but can also be worn in games when I’m going thru a bad phase of plantar fasciitis. BTW all these V2’s are using real Suede. It’s not faux suede or leather. That’s real neutral suede.

New balance has been doing great lately! Their basketball shoes are also starting to look good for lifestyle use and i'm so excited to get my two wxy v4s!
Zach, after watching you slice through this shoe and had me gasping, I think it's time for the table top band saw to split the shoe...my stress level would drop for sure...LOL...as for the new balance shoes, you sold me on the Two Wxy V3 awhile ago for pickleball and I must have 10 different colors now because they are fantastic...I use the PowerStep Pinnacle insole and all my plantar fasciitis disappeared...I also wear the PG6's but they wear out more quickly than the NB on the outdoor/concrete/asphalt surfaces
These came out at Rebel Sports here in Australia, picked up a pair of the Red and Black (Bred) colorway, played in them on Wednesday Night, as an older guard these were brilliant. Traction and cushioning, huge upgrades from the first BB. Also a decent upgrade IS your hairline!!!! Looks good Zach, great vid.👏👏👏

Love the look of these. Very happy they got a good review. NB should continue making there basketball shoes similar to their casual shoes, the leather is always a good choice.

I haven't tried them yet, but it looks like they are on par with the Two wxy v4, which I didn't expect. I feel like the upper on these is a bit stiffer than on v4s, but yet the v4s have a better containment? And also I feel the v4s have a slight advantage on the outsole grip. But for someone that fancy a plush landing, these are a great choice. Not that v4s lack that.

And they recently unveiled a bunch of really cool looking colorways, even including a Timberwolves one to call back to Lavine’s days in Minnesota. Great looking shoe. I’m going to probably go take a look at this colorway in person before getting it, but I am definitely without question going to grab a couple of the upcoming colorways.
No, they didn’t. There’s only one color way on their website, which is the same as in the video, and it’s awful.

Good review as always. I got the v4 for my son and was schocked by how good the build quality is. My son loves them so much that he struggles to go back to his lebron 20 !!
I will have a look at bb v2 but have to say that the v4 are a steal especially if you get them discounted like I did from NB 😅
I really like these. Ouside of the Two Wxy v3, these might just be my favorite NB hoops shoe out there.
Now New Balance just has to work on their designs! They are releasing consistently solid performing shoes that end up being forgettable or generic looking. They struck gold in the casual sneaker space, but I think there is work to do in the basketball space.
I agree with this, but I think this shoe is the start for looking better in the basketball space. I'm picking up this shoe just to style in them also the fact that its comfortable.
Their colorways are horrible
Can you make a video ranking zoom, boost, boom and other foams if you will. Like a top ten maybe?
Bought and played with them yesterday. These will def be in the rotation. Traction is excellent, fit is excellent (and I’m a 2e in most athletic shoes), and support is great. Court feel does suffer a bit but that’s the trade off for the excellent cushioning. These are the perfect rotational shoe for the days where you need a little more cushioning. I’m 230lbs in my 30’s so these are great for me.

The Harden 7 was the worst offender for this, I tried them on and was absolutely stunned that the forefoot felt like it was literally on the floor. Don’t know how people play in those
Is GT jump 2 still the GOAT for cushion and impact protection? Or has this or any others dethroned it?

Also, as a forefoot striking overpronator, not many shoes are comfortable for me to hoop in. Performance can be there, but my feet will kill me. I played three and a half hours of pickup my first day in these, they are a dream throughout the entire footbed.
I think I felt like the Two Way V4 felt more performance oriented, but I couldn’t stand the aesthetics of that model. In comparison, the FF BB V2 looks incredible. Nice work as always!

Do you have an opinion on poking some needle holes in the tongue and/or elsewhere in the upper to increase breathability? It seems like the lower part of the tongue that has outer holes that don't go through the inner layer would beg to have needle holes poked all the way through, along with maybe a few holes in the whitespace around the 'N' on the sides.

Obviously not as stable as something with more hard lines but surprisingly super stable considering the issues you mentioned - tldr not bad not the top 1-3

Hey Zach! One of the things I care about a lot when buying a basketball shoe is how stable and planted the shoe is. Especially if I go up for a rebound/shot and land on someone's foot. My previous KD's sucked at this, but the LeBron NXXT gen's have been great. Would love for you to add some component to your videos that can measure shoe stability
Containment + support
Containment and support doesn't fully encompass this imo. Containment measures the containment of your foot within the shoe, but not the stability of the shoe midsole/bed itself. And we know that no shoe on the market provides sufficient ankle support, for it to make a tangible difference in injuries
@@VanCough Agreed. I finally picked up a pair and the ride is kind of nervous for me in the side to side stability - turned over a bit on the outer metatarsal twice without making any exception movements. Ended up ordering another 2wxy v4 right after. The past couple years I've been playing in 2wxy, Kyrie Infinity, and GT Jump 1 and the lateral stability in those make it nearly impossible for you to tweak an ankle there on a misstep. I think the forefoot ride height + how narrow the forefoot is isn't a great combo for me. I think he's mentioned those kind of things in the past, maybe with the Kyrie Infinity since that flange in the forefoot protrudes out so much.
@@disguyb Nice! Thanks for the recs. I've heard great things about the 2wxy v4. I'm currently using a pair of kobe 8s for indoor and nxxt gens for outdoors and both of them are solid from a stability standpoint
@@VanCough ironically, the way I lost stability last night in these bbv2s were the same kind of turn in which Zach Lavine got hurt in the 2wxy v4s; although, he was making a way more aggressive move and that can happen in any shoe. Regardless, 2wxy v4 does feel more stable laterally than bbv2 imo.

Im not even 2E but the two wxy v4’s were so narrow they instantly hurt my feet. I tried these on and they are also narrow but not as bad. You’d probably have to go full size up if you’re 4E
