  • Didnt make it to the mountains this weekend but we still made it out to ride. I had just finished building up my Epic Evo and I think it turned out amazing. It rides SOOOOOO much better than before. The RockShox Sid fork is okay but very primitive. The SidLuxe rear shock is junk. Better used as a paperweight. Right now, I have the all new 2024 Fox Factory Float and a Fox Factory 34 Grip2 and its running amazing. I also put my Code RSC brakes on the bike and increased the front rotor size to 200 from 180. The only thing I really want now is some slightly more aggressive tires. Not something super heavy, just something that will provide more braking traction because these tires do not want to stop haha.
Anyway, the bike handled all of what was open at Cedar Valley and all of Airline bike park, including the big drop and double at the bottom. Admittedly, I was nervous to see what would happen taking this bike off of the huge drop at the bottom since its never super smooth landing but the bike took it like a champ. Barely even made a noise. Anyone that says they don't have enough travel... I don't want to hear it.

I have a 21' Epic Evo Comp and thinking of upgrading to an 23' Evo Expert. Many shops have them for 3 grand less than original asking price.

I would jump up to the Pro honestly. The Sid suspension is really not great. Once I put the factory 34 and Fox Float shock on, it really opened up the capabilities of the bike

Thanks bro! Yeah, the Pro would be a sic bike. If they ever go on sale, I'd definitely consider it. @@CarolinaMTB

try dissector/aggressor its a great combo for speed, corner knobs and braking for the "downcountry" riding

Did you say 34 140mm? Did you do a 45 mm float shock? Or 40mm?

Does that void the warranty putting on a 140 mm fork?

Not that I’m aware of. A specialized rep told me that the frame can handle up to 160 but I definitely don’t wanna go more than 140. Might drop it down to 130 still.
