"Hogwarts is my home" is how I feel whenever I reread them haha! I also have been wanting to do a reread of Harry Potter but I have been trying to do it for the past two years that I've only read the first two. So I think I'll start on the third book. Also I've only read the 7th book once and that was the day it came out so yeah.... Lol there are also other rereads I want to do like The Girl of Fire and Thorns series

+BookBallads There could not be a more perfect way of describing what it is like reading Harry Potter. I just recently reread The Sorcerer's Stone (it's been about 5 or so years since I've read any of them) and at first I was dumbfounded because I wasn't enjoying it as much. It felt too juvenile. But the further the story developed the more engrossed I became. I had found my way "home" again. :)

I love The Book Thief, I got it from my primary school in year 6 as a leaving present (my school gives a book to children when they leave for high school, it's a pretty cool tradition - I now work there part time and love seeing the new books that each year are going to get). The only time I've ever heard someone personally say anything bad about it was when my nan borrowed it from me last year - she said she got confused at points, but it was good. I loved it so much I bought it for my friend in 2012 for her birthday, and she called me up and well I won't say what she said as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But I will say despite what she said down the phone she loved it and then went out and bought it for one of her other friends for their Christmas presents.
So if you haven't read it but are thinking about I suggest you definitely pick it up it's an amazing read! 😀

My boyfriend isn't a big reader (I know...it's a problem) and because of that he has never read the Harry Potter Series. And before two years ago when we started dating, he had never seen the movies either. Now he has seen all the movies more than once and I am reading Harry Potter to him. We just started GoF and it's amazing. I love when we start getting ready for bed because that means Harry Potter time. It's thrilling to watch his reactions to my favorite scenes. Definitely one of my better ideas.

Agreed. Just settling down and reading the first line brings a smile to my face.

I never used to reread books, either. This year, I'm tackling Trainspotting and Porno by Irvine Welsh (I haven't read Trainspotting since I was in my mid-teens... The moment I opened up that book, it was like I was back with some really really old friends. It's weirdly comforting). Also, starting last year, I've been reading the Harry Potter series to my sons, which has been going slow and is full of me saying "this is a really good part!" I'm amazed we're nearly halfway through the series, honestly.
    Good luck with your rereads!

I re-read the Harry Potter series last year during my first year of college. I was pretty unhappy at the time and even though I was 8 hours away from home and miserable in my dorm whenever I started reading it really felt like going home and instantly made me feel better without fail. That series really is magical 😊

I've also been meaning to reread The Book Thief since the movie came out (which I haven't seen because I needed to read the book again). So far this year, I've reread The Son of Neptune (audiobook- for like 4th? time) and The Raven Boys. I plan to reread the rest of the Raven Cycle before the final book. As a general rule, I'd like to reread series before the new books because I find I'm so much more invested that way. Also, I'm going to reread the PJO series (for the millionth time, but in French as practice).

Said this one Jessie's channel too but there are so far only really two books I feel like rereading. 1. The Night Circus. It was just so unique and wonderful and unlike pretty much anything else I've ever read. It just had such a wonderful aura about it. Unless of course the author feels like publishing more this year in which case I would jump all over that. And 2. The Magicians. Not because it's becoming a show but because I read it ages ago while I was in school and I while I own the rest of the trilogy, I never got around to finishing. I remember most of the book but feel like it could use a revisit.

It's been about five years since I read it and I've watched the movie twice since but I'd forgotten how great the book is and just the little things that make it stand out. I do have a few books that I'd like to re-read - I'm working my way through the Song of Ice and Fire series, but I'm going slowly, as I want to be finishing up Dance With Dragons by the time Winds of Winter comes out. So I'm hoping to get to Storm of Swords this year (I read GoT and CoK last year). I reread the first four around ten times each before the last three came out and every time I've tried to reread to get to those last three I just stall out because I have the first four practically memorized. It's a vicious cycle. Last year I decided I wasn't going to try to reread any of the first four until after all four of the illustrated editions were released because I think that'd hold my attention pretty well. I know the series takes so much out of the book versions, I'm going at the tv like wtf?

I have the exact same problem with the Series of Unfortunate Events. I loved them when I was younger and I know exactly what book 1,2 and 3 are about.. But the rest?? I have no idea!! So that's a series I would really like to re-read someday. I'm not a big re-reader either. I only re-read Harry Potter every year in December. That's it. I would like to re-read the Grisha trilogy and the Throne of Glass series because I thought they were so exciting that I just flew through them really quickly. So I would like to re-read those and really take the time to read them! Love your videos! OK BYE!

I've actually adjusted my GR reading challenge number to accommodate rereading books (because, for some reason, in my head, only new books count for the challenge...?? I dunno), so yeah, I've got a list. Most important are basically all of Rainbow Rowell's books (started the year with Eleanor & Park, yay!), The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon because I WANT to read The Mime Order and I feel like I forgot too much of TBS to just jump back in. And Making History by Stephen Fry. (Brand new on the list is Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz which I've just finished this afternoon but am not really willing to let go yet. Like, at all...) That's a start, right..? :) Oh, and I also always did what you did with rereading Harry Potter. And I've never gotten to book 7 either. And I think I reread book 6 that last time right before book 7 came out. Hmm.

I know I'm late to replying, but this is literally the MOST AMAZING BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. Markus Zusak is such an amazing author! The Book Thief honestly changed my life for the better. It really makes you think. (In a good way!)

Haha, I know exactly what you mean with Harry Potter. I've read the first book soooo many times it's crazy, as I always aimed to reread them as each book came out. As a result I have also read the last book just once, which feels like a crime.
This year I'm rereading one Roald Dahl book a month. This month I read Matilda and we haven't decided which book to pick up for next month yet.

I could never start rereading Harry Potter from book 5. That book makes me feel insane and I struggle to get through it with every reread. I always start with book 1 just because it feels wrong to start mid-series for me. I typically do a LOT of rereading but I set a goal this year to read more new books.
Books I want to reread this year:
    Harry Potter Series
    Wool
    The Host
The song of the lioness series

My copy of the illustrated Sorcerer's Stone will be here tomorrow and I know that reading that, especially that version, is just going to make me want to read them all again. And I love those paperbacks you have...but my wife and I already have 3 copies of every HP book, and we'll have the illustrated ones as they release so I can't justify buying those paperbacks, right? Oh my god...I'm trying so hard to not Amazon the shit out of them right this second....

I'm going to be rereading the Harry Potter series, too! I haven't read them since each one first came out. Meaning I haven't read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone since I was 10 years old. That's 14 years!!! Way too long. So I'm going to rectify that this year.

your Harry Potter experience is the opposite of mine. years ago I started with Goblet of Fire and then I continued chronologically from 1.
I guess I've read goblet of fire the most, followed by Half blood prince & deathly hallows. ;-)
