The Eurovision Song Contest is back!
With the 2019 edition taking place in Tel Aviv, the drums are already beating to see who’ll take Netta’s crown, but first, it’s YOUR turn to decide who’ll be joining the party as the UK’s entrant.
Six acts will compete for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Mel Giedroyc and Mans Zelmerlow host live from MediaCityUK in Salford as viewers get the chance to vote for the song they want to represent the UK in Tel Aviv, Israel, in May.

11 points now. Thanks to an error in the substitute jury result for Belarus, the UK received 5 "jury" points in error. The EBU has now corrected the results, and officially the UK received no "jury points" from Belarus.

This should've been the 2019 UK Eurovision entry. She would've gotten more than 3 televoting points for sure.

unlikely, this was dreadful but so was the winner
Okay, so I commented in the studio cut of this song asking why the hell the UK wasn't sending this and I kept getting the answer "Because her vocal was off" WHAT THE HELL! Her voice was so good! Not perfect, but definetly proved she would have been good enough to represent the UK

Cos people still insist on trying to pick a good "Eurovision song". Instead of simply a "good song" They're not the same thing. Eurovision has moved on. We haven't.

The BBC fixed it that's why. They deliberately let the winner (already known by BBC viewers of All Together Now) to compete with unknowns which ruined 5 others, then 3 didn't get through (BBC told them to make sure Michael got through) then they judged a vocal on that day F vocals look at Iceland theirs were dire yet great beat which is what won for Sweden more than once...BBC are dull and corrupt (Hall is in the IBU) we need ITV to take it over and revamp it stop automatically paying for the BIG CHEESE 5 and make sure the selection is on a Saturday the last time we got 5th because it was on a show yet BBC changed that weird why not continue what worked?

@@abduljaliltv4950 Raya and Kerrie Anne both robbed I love their songs. BBC fixed it. We did dance and hip hop before others. Even Teenage Life did better! I liked it despite it being questionable (controversial gets votes sometimes see Icelandic Hatari) we even had brilliant Love City Groove and Imaani I adored them. Sweden copied our acts. So did Netherlands

I think the BBC should publish the results in full rather than just confirming the winner, so that we can know how each act did

Tristan Bowl I’m sure that the right song won. I know how it works in Eurovison, this song wouldn’t be liked by the jury and it has no feeling at all. It would be to similar to a lot of other songs.

you know, I remember thinking this had poor vocals at the time. But looking back on this it is so much better than I remember! She was amaazing!
Same.... I've just re-listened to it and it's not bad at all. I think that Michael Rice had a masterclass vocal which is what everyone kept comparing all the other artists to, and that's why people were dissapointed.

So after coming last place. I thought I’d come to Kerrie’s performance and I genuinely believe this would have got us at least 10 places ahead of where we finished last night but also another issue is BBC’s staging. Other countries have such extravagant staging with upbeat dancers and what not I really think we need to cash out some more on staging. I really think ITV (who are also part of the Eurovision Broadcasting Union) should be handed the job from here on now (perhaps they could always send the X-Factor winner as an automatic prize ahaha)!

Lucie Jones had great staging. The Netherlands has a small Eurovision budget too and they still make it work. The UK just needs a better creative team.
Bright blue that’s so true but we need a fresh start aswell and the BBC don’t seem to take a modern enough approach compared to other nations.

This is the best song but I think Michael’s performance just seemed far more polished already and has potential to be elevated even further. Nevertheless, no doubt I will be downloading this song as soon as it becomes available!
It may be polished but it ain't winning nor will it land in the Top 20. If the UK doesn't have an automatic qualification, they wouldn't even reach the finals with that song.

I really disagree that this should have won, it shouldn't have, yes it has a catchy instrumental, but her lyrics are overshadowed by the background music, she has a lovely voice, but I feel like the song that we are sending has such a powerful message. We have sent catchy songs to EuroVision before that still get bad results, Portugal won recently, with a song that had a powerful message and the singer himself stated that music doesn't always have to be 'fireworks' it can have real emotion, and another example was Ukraine who won, with an emotional, yet 'non-catchy' song, sometimes songs that are slower can win, it doesn't always have to be in the Dance genre. EuroVision doesn't usually attract those type of artists, but it should showcase all different styles of music, not just up-beat, cheesy songs, to me, this is more forgetful.
