    It looks almost elegant. I remember my sister and other girls constantly being told to keep their legs together, their feet pointing forward, and to put one foot in front of the other when walking - not for survival reasons, but because it looks more polished. Not so us boys! But I walked barefoot on gravel as a child many times, too, and soon learned to do it automatically. It's a good technique.

I do this like 3 times before I use them and let them dry outside in the shade. As they break in etc I just wear thicker socks. They work fine until the temperature get below freezing. There are some models that have a thin rubber sole which I’m sure would make them last a year or two easily just for hunting

    What do you do when you feel with the blade and it *doesn't* feel good? When I'm running in shoes and hit a hole or something, I sort of collapse my leg so it doesn't put any weight on the foot and take a quick step with the other foot. Or are you balanced so well that you just lift your foot up and set it down somewhere else? Does it interrupt your forward motion?

    • @animalmansurvivor1452
      @animalmansurvivor1452  Před 6 lety +7

      Thanks for the great question! The fox walk is designed for a slow to normal walk. It keeps your body aligned and the stress on the muscles and off the joints. It is a very fluid, efficient way of moving. The motion shouldn't stop if you are doing it right. You feel with the front foot as you put it down and your body weight is on the back foot until you are totally sure the front foot is in a good spot, then you begin to shift your weight forward. If you begin to put the front foot down and it doesn't feel right, you can pivot or slide the foot over, or adjust the pressure to a different part of the foot by using your muscles. I do the same thing as you when I'm trail running to avoid sprained ankles and such! Hope you found this helpful.

    • @danyal5312
      @danyal5312 Před 6 lety +1

      Karl K try having a mostly straight back so you’re not leaning forward, this will put most of your weight on your back leg that’s secure. Once your blade hits something you just put your weight back on your back leg and manoeuvre you front leg to somewhere safe. Hope this helps ;)

    Hm, so I already have the basics down, I guess because I've always walked like this most of my life not having spread legs and always have my feet close together when walking; even though everyone tried teach me to walk like a duck, I can just don't like it and feels wierd... The stepping part I've always done when sneaking around when I was younger just copying ninjas and stuff from movies I used to watch, had no idea it was real thing always thought it was just a movie thing. Great video nonetheless.
