Burley Bee Ebike Trailer First Ride

- Got a Burley Bee bike trailer to take my grand daughter to the park and whatever adventures we can share together. Had to make some adjustments to get a better fit for her helmet. My Magnum Peak bike puled the trailer just fine. A little bumpy on some of the roads, but she didn't seem to mind. You could hardly know it's back there, although it does catch a lot of wind and slow you down when riding into the wind.

Keep on keeping on Grandpa. Those girls are going to remember those rides for the rest of their lives. God bless you.
You just made another soon-to-be-grandpa very excited to tie together two of his favorite things! Spending time with the grandson and ebiking! Thank you for sharing this very touching and helpful video!
Wonderful video reminds me of my grandfather when I was a lad, he was very gentle, smart and caring like you.
I loved this video. Thank you for sharing. I loved your ingenuity in padding out the seat. I’m sure grandma made a lovely cover 😃
Excellent videos, keep them coming!
Highly suggest for always zip the screen closed on the Burley. If left open your rear tire can kick gravel and other debris into the face of your passenger.
My dogs will tell you firsthand that this is true
Same problem with helmet pushing my daughters head down. Made your cushion and it’s super dope. Thanks!
I love your video …Abuelo like me…we just ordered the Hurley double seater… can’t wait to take the kids…Thanks Abuelo…Happy Trails
Today i bought a e bike and after watching your videos i am going to order a trailer thanks for your video grandpa God bless us
The intro to the video gave me warm and happy feels. We just got the burley bee to take out 2 year old along this summer. Very excited for our first ride!
About shed a tear, this is awesome. This is me in like 10-15 years from now.
I like your cushion idea. Lovely video.❤
Beautiful video 😍
Thanks, Ron, for figuring out the foam solution and the right dimensions. I'm going to buy the same thing. Cheers.
What a sweet video. Thank you for sharing!
The foam idea I’ll probably have also to do…thanks again
This video gives me goosebumps... You are a great pa pa!
Love this video.
Such a sweet video. ☺️☺️☺️
I want the exact same setup to take advantage of the summer with my little girl, great review by a proud man and grandad 👍
Thankyou for sharing ✌
Very nice! You might want to consider at least a rear wheel fender to prevent debris from flying up to her face. Plastic ones are fairly inexpensive. Ride on! 😎
This was a great video. :D
They will always remember this ❤️
I was going to buy the burley classic hitch assuming I wouldn't have enough room on the rear hub, thanks to your video I know I can put this on my ebike with the standard attachments.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I would not have thought of going to a flooring store for foam.
Yes, they have floor coverings, but also do furniture upholstery. They have all sizes of foam and will cut a piece to order.
This too sweet not to thumbs up. Great vid, my man
So sweet!!
So adorable
Nice video man thats what its all about
Nice!!! Good bonding
Great Video Grandpa
I just bought one tonight to take my 14 month old in. Was hoping to see where the antenna went. I can’t find the spot for it. 🤦🏻♂️
Ps loved the background music tied it all in
Great video! I wondered...what is the make and model of the bike rack you have on the car? Looks nice!
Thx for sharing this. I have a 14 month old boy.. and a Haibike (e-bike). I'm looking at either this trailer.. or the single seat Minnow. I'll prob get the minnow mostly because I'll never have the need to haul two kids.
Not all kids want to ride in this. Maddy doesn't seem to want to ride anymore. We will see with the twins, they are a bit too young yet.
Good idea
nice video
Great video Grandpa,
Just want to know how long you have had your magnum peak for? And have you had many issues with it?
Knarly Kooltees I’ve had it just over a year and half. 3200 miles and had my first problem other than flat tires. The clutch in the hub motor started slipping. Had to get a new wheel. Still like the bike. New motor is a bit quieter.
I bought the burley hitch Alt adapter to make it fit my fat tire ebike. I was warned against the classic hitch because of safety concerns.
So what happened to the bike that you needed a new motor? Was it covered by the warranty?
Still have the bike. 6000 miles on it. New motor cost me $300.
Is it difficult steering or riding on dirt, bumpy roads? I want a used trailer for our 2 dogs. We have 20 inch tires and folding ebikes.
Don't notice any steering issues, just the drag from the Bee especially if you try to go over 12 mph.
Any issues going up hills while pulling the trailer with that bike? Thanks
No problem with an Ebike. Otherwise you will need strong legs.
Hi, I want to get an ebike and trailer to pull along my 3 and 4 year old! Would you say the ebikes can handle this in uphilly areas like where I live? Or will hills be too difficult still with all the weight from children?!
Yes the proper Ebike can do it just slower than riding alone. If you want to do this a lot, you will need at least a 500 watt motor. 750 watt is better and expect to get fewer miles from the battery. I found that the wind resistance was a bigger factor over 13 mph or so. Hydraulic brakes are also important for stopping on hills. 180mm rotors are common and work the best.
@@ontheroadwithron2432 Food for thought. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Have a good day buddy! :)
Have you taken her for a ride in the rain? Does she stay dry?
Never in rain but should be dry
The price please hello from baja California mex. Thanks
My real question is how are the right and left hand turns
Turning was no problem.
Do it fit on the sidewalk???
Most places don’t want bikes on the sidewalks. However, it will fit but there wouldn’t be much room left for pedestrians to get by.
@@ontheroadwithron2432 okay thanks for responding back!!!
Where did u get the foam and what’s the cost
Got it at UFO upholstery in National city. $20
Good video, but I have one concern. There was nothing shielding her eyes or face from rocks or other items, being picked up by the tires and thrown backward toward the passenger (aka adorable little girl)
Yes, there is a cover on the bee but I have it rolled up for the video.
On the Road with Ron thank you, really loved your video and how it shows a lot of love for your granddaughters.
Get some fenders on the back tire. Keeps the debris from flying back into your grand-kids face/body. A piece of glass could still cut through the screening.
Thank you. I gave the trailer to my son to use with his bike.
@@ontheroadwithron2432 Hello, you are a great grandfather and a man with "hands" time spent with your granddaughter is cool)
Anybody else noticed that kershaw blur?
