I'm American and I don't understand how anyone is against this, its the same as an earlobe piercing its not like they are nipple piercings or something...
It`s not the same tho.. I`m not american btw. I`m also against people getting earlobe piercings before they`re at least 13, and want it themselves. Anyone who actually knows ANYTHING about piercings at all should be against this, including earlobe piercings under a certain age. Also, the way the piercing is done, with her standing up is incredibly dangerous. It`s easy for you to flinch, which can cause the needle to go in wobbly, jaggedy and go through cartilage and such, The piercer should look up through the nose to properly see and hit the soft spot a lot easier as well. The way they`re positioned makes it incredibly difficult for even the best piercers to get it straight and pierce it through the soft spot, instead of piercing though cartilage and getting it too crooked. You should always at the very least be sitting down when getting pierced, preferrably lay down entirely, or sit in a chair that is reclined down. Fainting is a real possibility, and that would be so dangerous for several reasons. People seem to think that age is the ONLY thing that makes this controversial, but that`s not the only thing that makes this entire thing bad and unsafe. Anyone who knows anything about piercings knows very well how wrong this is. This piercing process is just wrong, regardless of age. Age is obvs a big factor here, but far from the only one, as there is so much more that goes in to piercing safety than "just" age.
You saying "it's the same" just shows how ignorant you are when it comes to piercings, which in itself is absolutely fine, BUT being ignorant about a topic yet still feeling confident enough to claim something about said topic that's entirely wrong, is NOT fine. There are 100% legitimate reasons as to why trained, certified, aka actual professional piercers sets minimum age requirements for different piercings, regardless of parental consent.. which is a good thing. There is so much that can go wrong with piercings, regardless of placement.. not just when the piercing is actually getting done, but during the healing process also especially, even after the healing process is it still possible for something to go wrong. C'mon, now.
@@idalarsen2540 yeah i agree with evreything u said except the age thing, im 13 and i love piercings, i have 4 in each ear, a nose ring, a septum, and a belly button ring. i think it really just depends on how mature you are. ive always been alot more mature than everyone else my age, and ive understood the risks. i think the biggest factor shouldnt be age, it should be education. i def think she should have been talked through the process and should have been sitting with her head back..

Guys, I’ve had my septum done, the pain is so minimal, and the healing was sooo easy. The girl hardly flinched, I think she’ll be okay as long as it’s what she wanted and her parents argreed. As some other comments stated, it is apart of some cultures so.
The healing isn't easy for everyone.. I kept waking up in the night with it throbbing because it was being pushed around and swelling, it was so bad I'd wake up trying to take it out (even though it's not what I wanted consciously). Also, I'm a muscle memory person & learning not to rub my face with a face cloth/ towel and go delicately around the area was incredibly hard. I rubbed cloth on my face during the healing SO many times and caught the piercing every time 😷 it was not good. Saying that, getting the piecring for me was easy, & I know it's not the same in healing for everyone.. but I do feel the need to say it's not always a walk in the park 😅
@@FG-mx5bf I’m sure that many ppl have probably had the same experience as you, me personally I don’t really remember any pain other than when I accidentally tugged it or bumped it, but mine would never throb or hurt when I slept. It healed really quickly for me, only abt 1-2 months it took. She seemed to be pretty calm for a young child getting a needle through their nose, but I can’t say. Everyones pain tolerances are different, so this is js my experience.
Oh- the reason why a child should not get this piercing is because of body development. The piercing will most likely be painful because of her nose developing.
Septum piercings really don't hurt at all, for anyone curious about getting one. I've gotten about 15 total (currently only kept 10) on my lips, two bridge, three nose (nostrils and septum), brow, four navel, and too many to count on my ears. Septum was the absolute least painful, it only tickled and pinched a little. I think that's part of the reason they are so common.
Something being cultural doesn’t excuse something being wrong lmao , in like every general thing not only when it comes to piercings, culture is supposed to be appreciated and celebrated, not SACRED I’m North African and since idk how long people have pierced ears very young , SURELY when piercing guns became a thing , people get their kids pierced as young as NEWBORNS, babies, and young toddlers even just kids her age that cannot consent to this even if they naively say yes shouldn’t be pushed into this So no , nothing « cultural » it’s just « a thing » , and even if it was cultural, can they consent to that? No , can piercing guns be sterilized ? Disinfected? Or even properly sanitized? No (how 90% get it done) , Does but the infant at risk of infection ? Catching a very bad contagious disease? Or just their immune system being able to handle an infection just fine? No , Should piercing guns ever be allowed ? No, for other billion reasons If he did it with a piercing needle , well... that’s at least one point for him , but that’s a child , her nose it gonna grow and develop more than that so it will probably not be positioned the same, and piercings require a cleaning routine , AND JUST THE FACT that he accepts giving piercings to such young kids should be enough for his business to be shut
people keep commenting “oh it’s cause her culture” THAT DOESNT FUCKING MAKE IT RIGHT! it’s still not okay to do that and a child that young cannot consent. even if they say they want it, they can’t consent. starting age should be 14, where they can actually consent to it because they have the bodily autonomy and they are able to make rational choices. this is horrible, culture or not

Yall always defend unsafe choices, especially towards children, with "culture". Idc, no child under the age of 13 should be getting anything pierced anywhere in the world.
thankkkkuuuuuu!!! Also if we were to forget about the age (which we shouldn`t), the piercing practice is still so wrong. It`s very, very possible for the blood sugar to drop to the point where you faint, or nearly faint. It`s almost entirely impossible to not flinch/move while standing up with only your two feets balancing you and holding you still. One should always lay down, child or adult, in case of fainting. The piercer should also be able to look upwords towards the nose, not down below the nose like in this video. It`s nearly impossible to get it right and straight, and hit the soft spot instead of the cartilage when the piercer is unable to see up the nose.
i'm american and i have my septum pierced and 2 of my three children have it and the third will when they're old enough. that's the problem with kids now, no rights of passage.

Y’all need to calm tf down everyone’s culture is different just deal with it this isn’t child abuse it’s just a piercing she can take it out anytime she wants she’s not dying 😂
exactly. and if she did take it out, nobody would ever even know she had a piercing. nobody would ever see the hole. unlike literally every other piercing, such as ear piercings that white chicks love to give their daughters by age 2. And even if she didn’t take out the septum, you can flip them upwards and hide them in your nose. literally the least harmful/life altering piercing possible. and least painful in my opinion. Pierced mine at home with a thumbtack on a whim. and just upped it to 12 gauge. Plan on going all the way to zero 😂. And not a soul would know whenever I took it out, unlike if you stretched your earlobes. doing that leaves you with flaps of skin dangling from your ears for life
@@gamertag5030 septum’s aren’t pierced through cartilage. If you pierced your cartilage you did it very wrong. They’re pierced through the thin flap of skin between the cartilage and flesh of your septum/bottom of your nose. But some people don’t have that and can’t get that piercing. And it’s not a permanent hole. It closes pretty quick if you take your jewelry out. Nor is it noticeable like stretched earlobes are if you decide to stretch it.

Then why you’re against nipples “or something” to get pierced? That’s the same , you just changed the position
@@kat-gd6ry Nipple piercings, although also done for esthetic reasons, are more of a sexual thing...like some "other" piercings such as ones done on genitals
How old is she cause a septum should be done at a teenage or adult age
She's Indian. In India they use to do piercing at a very young age. She's probably 6-7
Beautiful! She was so brave! 🫶🏼

Is she under age
is she also underaged for ear piercings? you know septum piercings are the only piercing that can be completely hidden and if you remove it you cant even see the hole?
AWWW SHE LOOKS SO ADORABLE WITH A SEPTUM PIERCING
SHES SUCH A CUTIE!!
I would have believed this if I didn't already have a magnetic septum ring
Something being cultural doesn’t excuse something being wrong lmao , in like every general thing not only when it comes to piercings, culture is supposed to be appreciated and celebrated, not SACRED
I’m North African and since idk how long people have pierced ears very young , SURELY when piercing guns became a thing , people get their kids pierced as young as NEWBORNS, babies, and young toddlers even just kids her age that cannot consent to this even if they naively say yes shouldn’t be pushed into this
So no , nothing « cultural » it’s just « a thing » , and even if it was cultural, can they consent to that? No , can piercing guns be sterilized ? Disinfected? Or even properly sanitized? No (how 90% get it done) , Does but the infant at risk of infection ? Catching a very bad contagious disease? Or just their immune system being able to handle an infection just fine? No , Should piercing guns ever be allowed ? No, for other billion
reasons
If he did it with a piercing needle , well... that’s at least one point for him , but that’s a child , her nose it gonna grow and develop more than that so it will probably not be positioned the same, and piercings require a cleaning routine , AND JUST THE FACT that he accepts giving piercings to such young kids should be enough for his business to be shut
Blablabla
@@yungblud_mm that’s all you had to say? If you can’t give an argument at least shut up 😭💀
people keep commenting “oh it’s cause her culture” THAT DOESNT FUCKING MAKE IT RIGHT! it’s still not okay to do that and a child that young cannot consent. even if they say they want it, they can’t consent. starting age should be 14, where they can actually consent to it because they have the bodily autonomy and they are able to make rational choices. this is horrible, culture or not

There are some weird people in this comment section. Ypu can't get a piercing below a certaon age for a reason.
It`s nearly impossible to get it right and straight, and hit the soft spot instead of the cartilage when the piercer is unable to see up the nose.
if everything went alright it should be fine
And why would the magical 13th birthday change anything?

And not a soul would know whenever I took it out, unlike if you stretched your earlobes. doing that leaves you with flaps of skin dangling from your ears for life
@@SDSypher I wanna get a septum piercing but sense it's cartilage my nose will have a permanent hole so that stops me
@@gamertag5030 septum’s aren’t pierced through cartilage.

The crazy amount of positive comments speaking about cultural differences and traditions...I mean, I get the sentiment and all but I need to point out that whether or not someone's culture and traditions say something is okay - it doesn't make it less dangerous from a medical standpoint. And as body piercers, we kinda sign up for the responsibility of giving our clients what they want -within- what is reasonably medically safe and what is medically dangerous. That's just...kinda the bottom line at the end of the day.
