    Managed to pass L3 on my second attempt. The MM mock exams were a key piece of my success. They can be very challenging, but they push you to keep learning rather than getting comfortable with mock exams that can build a false sense of confidence. They are also the best representation of the CBT format that I have seen. Best of luck to all other candidates!

    L3 passed. 6 moths studying period. Watched MM's videos twice (more times for some topics like FI/Econ). Did the QBank twice too. Did all 4 mock exams and attended all live sessions with MM.

    Failed the Nov'21 L3 by a tiny margin...signed up for May '22 while my memory is still fresh. Many thanks to Dr. MM for their one-fee-to-pass so I do not have to pay again for the subscription!

    I took Level 3 in Nov '21 and passed. Got awarded my Charter yesterday as I had done the prerequisite work already in anticipation. This was my second attempt at L3. I had missed out narrowly in June 2019, then the pandemic came and this CFA journey just dragged on for reasons I had no control over. That morning session of the exam though - that was a strange experience. I was bemused with the style of questions. I heard somewhere they have a new set of question writers and it shows.
    Special thanks to Dr. Mark Meldrum - he is the man. I used his prep material exclusively for L3. I work in M&A with demanding work hours and simply do not have the patience or time to read CFAI books. I attended his mock exam live sessions and think his advise was very valuable. Love his market commentary as well and look forward to his videos. Cheers!

      This is close to my story. Failed L3 in 2019 using Schweser Notes. Failed in first CBT-Test in May 2021 after two postponed exams due to covid in 2020. Changed to MM and used his content over 3 months from Sep-Nov21 and passed L3. MM content was interesting, motivating and focused on the most difficult areas of each reading. Thanks Mark for your dedication to this CFA learing experience. Also still enjoying his videos on 1.75 speed :-). Hardly know how he sounds in normal speed :-) :-) Congratulations to all of you who passed. Keep on working towards your goals for those who failed. „Failure is temporary, success is permanent“.

    When does this one fee to pass apply to candidates that didn’t sit? I paid for level 3 materials for 2020s level 3 exam and studied that last year while studying for level 3- does this apply to me? I’m studying for level 3 now and my subscription to MM expired

    Mark, can you leave a comment on a recommended study schedule for L3 i.e., which book to start/end on? The previous videos seemed to be dated now that the curriculum has changed.

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  Před 2 lety +1

      No - not dated - the same topics in order apply. They may not be labelled Book 1,2,3 etc anymore, but the same topics in the same order still apply.

  • @KDiLeo1
    @KDiLeo1 Před 2 lety

    Dr. Meldrum, my main concern (whether it would help or not) is having another data point to look at (May 2022) before retaking (August 2022). I have to believe at this point that there is something structurally wrong with how the exam is being graded with the CBT. I was scoring around a 70 on mocks and wound up with around a band 8-9 score on the actual exam. 300Hours is stating the MPS is around 53. That would mean a roughly 20 point drop coming in on exam day. I find this really hard to believe. If my PM scores were somewhat consistent, I would have had to have scored a 20-30 on the AM section. I just dont get that. It has to be how the graders are instructed to grade with the new format.
    Is it worth waiting to see how at least one round of 2022 shakes out before I retake? I am really upset and lost at this point. This would be my third attempt. Something weird is going on

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  Před 2 lety

      I am not sure how 300hrs is calculating the MPS given that successful scores are not provided anymore. No I don’t think it is worth seeing another data point.

    Hello Mark,
    I recently passed level 2 thanks to your great material but I think August may be too ambitious given work commitments. I would like to sign up to your Level 3 content for February 2023 but I know content won't be available until its release. Is there any way I can do an early sign up and start study 2022 level 3 material with risk that content may change? Then be transferred over to February 2023?

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  Před 2 lety +2

      Take section 3 for Aug 2022 (Fixed Income and Equity PM). When the 2023 content is out, you will get a credit for 50% of what you paid towards the 2023 price. $69.25 CAD for the section, $34.62 credit towards 2023. So it only costs $34.63 CAD for access for 4.5 months - not bad.

    Sir I am looking to give the CFA exam (level 1)in May 2022 then level 2 in nov 22 and level 3 in August of 2023 Is this the right strategy ? I MEAN is it technically possible if i put in a lot of hard work or I need to have more time in between the exams?

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  Před 2 lety +1

      I would not advise that - don't see this as preparing for three exams, see this as preparing for a career - build a solid foundation of knowledge - no point rushing through it just trying to get by.
