hey! big fan of the gizz! they’ve been pumping out albums since 2012, and they have around 15 albums so far! they’ve appeared on KEXP around 4 times I think, super good stuff. mars for the rich, the song in the vid, is off of their album Infest the Rats Nest, which is their first thrash metal album, released in August of 2019! they have a pretty diverse discography, but they’re mainly psychedelic rock. if you’re a fan of this, check out nonagon infinity! it’s one of their most well known concept albums. it’s essentially never ending, with each song leading right into the next and the last song going right back into the first track. banging stuff, cheers pal!

Dude this is the most prolific, best rock outfit of the last decade. 15 albums to date, varied over lots of genres, with an overarching narrative uniting them. Every album is good. You should do a full reaction to the Polygondwanaland album, it's copyright free so no worries there, and it's probably the most accessible of the best 5 albums. 100% free, no copyright strike. Lots of polyrythm, very progressive. Highly recommend good headphones and comfy couch. If the first minute of Crumbling Castle doesn't hook you to this band forever you are not worthy... lol

At the recording of this video you probably thought they were a "metal" band....
but they are so much more than that.
Everything they do is original and perfect.
.....Then you discover the endless side bands and side projects.........
.....And the fact they they are their record label and wildly successful at it.
How do they enough time to collectively put out 3-6 albums a year and tour and run a label?!?!?!?

They have been around a few years :) from Perth Australia if I recall correctly. Their albums typically are whole concepts with many songs flowing one into the other (a bit Pink Floydish) and doing things like 1st song resurfacing at the end - stuff like that. I found out about them from another reactor a couple years ago and been enjoying since. Very interesting music and instrumental tones. (Edit to say props to KEXP)

Hey mate, yeah they're a mad band here from Australia. This session was their "infest the rats nest" session featuring songs from the latest album of the same name. They've dabbled in multiple genres of rock/metal from Psychedelic to thrash. Each album revolves around a singular concept yet all albums take place in a thing called the "Gizzverse". In 2017 they released 5 albums in one year all with crazy concepts. Plz listen to them, they are genuinely one of the best bands from the 2010's. Cheers mate, peace here from Oz 🤘

Here’s the Low down they’re an Australian band they have 2 drummers, A bassist, 3 guitarists and A keys player who also does vocals and harmonica. Formed in 2010 and have released 3 EPS and 15 studio albums, releasing almost 2 a year since 2012
2010 Singles EP, Anglesea EP and 2011’s Willoughby’s Beach feature a psychedelic indie punk vibe throughout with strong surf influences
2012’s Debut 12 Bar Bruise is a hard rocking lofi psychedelic blues album that maintains a gritty punk vibe
2013’s Eyes like the sky is a musical audiobook and is a classic homage to spaghetti westerns, and Ennio Morricone fused with desert rock
2013’s head on pill deep dives in psychedelic jam rock featuring the mind blowing 17 minute Head On Pill
2014’s Oddments is a record made from b sides and left overs from the last few releases, full of weird and tasty hidden gems
2014’s I’m in your mind fuzz, showed the band going deeper into their now established sound, a fusion of 70’s jam band with psychedelic and indie elements played with punks on speed like energy with lyrical themes dealing with mind control, government influence and existentialism
2015’s Quarters sees the band writing 4 songs each 10 minutes in length hence quarters, each tune has a distinct vibe and musical influences and best track by far is the Jazz rock tune River, it’s not uncommon for this song to be extended to 20 minute jams live
2015’s paper mache Dream ballon shows them using all acoustic instruments to write catchy but often dark psychedelic folk pop tunes
2016s Nonagon Infinity is considered king gizzs greatest album, a fury of all the above influences stuffed into a proto Metal, speed punk package with an album where every one of the 9 tracks loop into each other and then the last one into the first again so the album plays seamlessly forever
In 2017 King Gizz released 5 albums in that year
Microtonal Flying Banana uses instruments built to play micro tones or Quarter notes, not often used in western music, the album has a relaxed and grooving stoner rock vibe with middle eastern melodies and polyrhythmic grooves
Murder of The Universe Combines three seperate mini stories into a multifaceted concept record dealing with humanity, artificial intelligence, body horror, fantasy and of course Vomit, in a psychedelic Prog metal package
Sketches Of Brunswick East is a collaboration album with Mild High Club, making a record of sweet pillowy but also melodically dense cool jazz and lounge music with soured tones
Polygondwanaland is a progressive rock and metal endeavour that has extended complex arrangements with polyrhythms driving the album with interweaving melodies and a song to song flow that still remains catchy
Gumboot Soup was the last album of 2017 (that’s also literally as it was released on New Year’s Eve) features songs cut from other recording sessions and is full of amazing tunes covering all many of ground to jazz pop, sludge, electronic pop, and weird psychedelic funk and punky blues rock
2019 see the most recent two albums
Fishing for fishies is a avant- garden blues/folk record with catchy folk pop, fusions of boogie blues and Kraftwork, and trippy acoustic rock all with an environmentalist message throughout
Infest The Rats Nest is a deep dive into Thrash metal with a 70’s Hard Rock/Punk sensibility it was the album you were listening to in this reaction and is a crushing record about the future of the devastated earth and the rich leaving the poor to die on earth while they live it up on mars
There’s is another album on the horizon for 2020 with the newest single Honey showing another change in their musical direction
    I hope that helps
