@@henrycarrotcake yes but this was before motor spirit was officially released. Maybe they’d already written it and intentionally mixed it in with Gaia knowing that it would be on their next album, or maybe they liked the sound of the jam and built a song off of it

I’m also reminded of Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason at Pompeii here, particularly on Set The Control For The Heart Of The Sun. But yeah, primarily Tool. The Moog filter sweeps underneath his drumming sounds a lot like material from Fear Inoculum

This is crazy, we've literally seen Gaia evolve before our very eyes over the past year! And this version is such a monster and it's so tight too, these guys are machines when it comes to keeping time
I actually feel like it got messy. But I like the idea. Guitarist sounded sloppy during the drum Toms part. Maybe it’s the tone contributing I dunno.

I love those little melodic bass licks Lucas does at the end and always expect them in the studio recording but they're never there. Good thing this recording exists! 🤘

Having played in a progressive metal band many years ago, the sheer relief of coming back in on cue after a ridiculous drum solo or jam section is unmatched.
I felt like there was a split second on Cav's face where he thought Stu was going to miss it though!

To live at the same time as this band, it's indescribable. They take so many genres and make them sound like Gizz. It never feels fake or overly constructed, rather natural, synchronous, connected, WHOLE. And they execute their work flawlessly live.
I hope people realize Gizzards will leave a landmark in rock music history

They should just stick to metal. I pretty much only listen to Infest the Rats Nest, the new album, and their prog metal shit. The rest of their catalogue doesn't appeal to me. They clearly get people the most excited when they play the heavier and groovier stuff.

Looking back towards Gizz's earliest stuff, I'd say Cavs has grown by a large margin. He was already excellent behind the kit, but his timing, dynamic, and creativity in difficult time signatures has reached new heights. Awesome video 🧙♂️❤️⚡

How Cavy keeps improving and adding to his style every album is so fantastic to listen to. The guys are a joy! And live even better than on the albums. Masters of their craft.
They resemble Darryl Hall and John Oates. :-) Never heard of this band until CZcams shuffled into my mix. I"m blown away by this sound and can't believe I never heard of them until now. Not many bands turn my head these days but this one sure did.

The movement at 8:52 is so damn pretty. It reminds me emotionally of the bit at 8:38 in Rosetta Stoned where Tool comes out of the chaotic breakdown into a super-melodic vocal line.

@@Chimpangeek I was blown away….. They are extremely talented musicians, harmonies sounded great. My favorite part was a long version of Straws in the Wind, Ambrose’s vocals are incredible and I started to listening to the Murlocs a lot the last couple weeks lol.
