- If you missed the largest poultry show in America, here is our summary. Rows and rows of birds. This year there were over 8500 entries, plus birds for sale. We don't show birds, but we love looking at all the various breeds. It's like going to a zoo for just poultry! Always the second Saturday in November in Columbus, Ohio.
This couple is so cute. The ladies constant giggling made my morning🥰
All birds are so amazing
And besides all two lovebirds 🥰
Always be like this may god bless you "happy wife with loving husband"
Thank you for recording this! It was so cool to see all of the different birds! My favorite was the birchen modern game hen - such long legs! It almost looked like human legs in black tights. Lol! I also loved the shot you got from above of all of the cages and tables that just went on and on! And Andrea in the middle of it all!
Oh you guys are so so lucky!! We dont get half these breeds down here in Brazil and dont get me started on how great all those birds look. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to import hatching eggs and I'll finally have high quality Pekins, Wyandotte bantams and (oh boy!!) if I were to have my way around a few Barbu d'Anvers, Watermael or de Grubbe. Goals. Thank you for sharing!!
Love this! I am new to keeping chickens and was considering entering my Blue Ameruaricanas. Real Ameruaricanas. Lol
So much love in your voices/comments. Great video. Thank you.
Thank you! If you haven't seen it yet, we made a video for the 2021 Ohio National. It's at czcams.com/video/L9EJ1OF_ShY/video.html.
I've never seen so many birds all at once, sweet Jesus those are some good beautiful birds, me city folk is impressed!
There was no show in 2020, and we missed going. But I believe there will be one this year and we'll be there!
Shows are really fun, especially when you are showing. One of my favorite things to do at shows is walk around with friends and/or my mentors and look at birds and place them before judging. It's good fun, and a good exercise on what the judge is looking at. When you buy a chick for show, you are buying potential that takes months, sometimes years to find.
Also if you want to understand more of what's going on, entering a bird or two in a show will help or at the very least ask questions of the exhibitors.
Love this! I missed all the poultry shows due to covid, so nice to browse and find this!
Glad you enjoyed it. Here is the video from 2018. There was no show in 2020 but it’s scheduled for 2021 and we will be there! czcams.com/video/O_g6gDGeVC4/video.html
Fantastic video! Makes me want to visit ohio lol
thanks for this ... showed me a place ive never seen
Love the sound in the arena! Haha, love chicken's, borderline obsession. Our rescue hen looked shocking when we got her and now she is massive and beautiful! White Australorp
After a few hours in the arena, it's such a relief to step outside. But we always enjoy the sound of chickens!
Some of those chickens reminded me of Phyllis Diller!🤣
Great chickens. I've got 6 at home in Venice, CA.
So wholesome 😊 now I want to see a show too!
The Ohio National date is always circled on our calendar and we look forward to going every November. Sadly, this year's show has already been canceled. We'll keep our fingers crossed for next year. There is also a video from the 2018 show that's fun to watch. We see chickens every day and what do we want to do in our free time? Go see more chickens!!!
I've never been to the show yet, not sure if Ohio had a NPS in 2021 or not but I was just getting started in 2019 and it's so amazing to me because now I have quite a few of the breeds you showcased and still growing by the day.. literally lol. I have more of a variety than I realized I guess lol. Great video!
Ducks are definitely not like chickens 😂.
I am loving your videos.
No they are not, but we love them. Did you get a chance to watch our video "Ducks are Not Chickens"? Link: czcams.com/video/jB4lJ8Dc5Go/video.html
@@HappyWifeAcres loved it, a very beautifully done video.
Grandioso.
What you called a Japanese is actually a btm white faced Black Spanish. The first pigeon was an English trumpeter, and the " "doves" at the end were pygmy pouter pigeons.
Thank you for the clarification! They were labeled as Japanese at the show, but I could not find any internet info. Not sure how they got that wrong!
@@HappyWifeAcres probably a bird moved to a different cage, but the bird in the video with the large single comb, black plumage, and a white face, was definitely a Spanish. Saw them myself, impressive quality for such a rarely seen bird.
@@Farming_in_Eden correct, it is definitely a White Faced Black Spanish. Not only the name is a dead giveaway. Single comb and the wattles are the characteristics of Mediterranean breeds like Minorca and Leghorns.
@@HappyWifeAcres a Japanese Bantam are going to have really short legs with a 90 degree tail.
Iv been to a poultry show here in the UK in Scotland but never seen one so big and many cages of poultry .
The 2020 Ohio National show was canceled due to COVID, and we really missed it. It's always a day we look forward to. Maybe it will return in 2021. You can also watch our video from 2018: czcams.com/video/O_g6gDGeVC4/video.html
Geese make guard animals for your other birds
True, but not Sebastopol. They look pretty, but they are kind of dumb to put it mildly. Chinese, African, Toulouse and Embden make good guard geese, preferably the females.
Do you have to vaccinate your chickens to show them? pretty birds
What day of the year is this on? What is it called?
The show is part of the title: The Ohio National Poultry Show. It's held each year on the 2nd Saturday/Sunday in November. It was canceled last year due to the pandemic. This year it's scheduled for 13-14 November. If you go, go on Saturday. Sunday is just the awards and most of the birds are gone.
Wau
What day did you go?
Always on Saturday. Sunday is just the awards.
How do i get a job as a chicken judge? ...
Wouldn't that be a dream job? If a judge would talk to me, I'd love to ask them how they got to be a chicken judge!
Hi
$300 is geese is cheap
Yes, that seems to be a fair price, but it's still a lot of money. We would love to have a goose. Maybe one day...
@@HappyWifeAcres don't buy a Sebastopol though, unless you want to breed them. They are kind of dumb and clumsy and they need extra care and maintenance. I would suggest Embden and commercial type Toulouse.
I liked your videos a lot, I am going to subscribe. Good luck and stay safe.
