Awesome video! But I can BARELY see any of his work due to the biggest company logo in a video in history 👌🏾
Yeah, sorry about that. They're in all of our videos and generally they're not noticeable. Unfortunately in this one they were in the way. We'll probably do another one that's better and more thorough in the future.

Thank you guys so much! My 08’ Hayabusa was bogging at 7,500rpms. Used your video to do the bypass with a friend and took about 6 hours. Bike is running spectacular! I think it’s been restricted on fuel for many years. Really appreciate the part numbers I purchased the exact ones. Only thing I had to research myself was the hose clamps and got some from auto zone. You guys saved my bike!!!

Exactly the same issue on my 08 gsxr 600 no fi codes but kept cutting out all over the rev range i first thought it was the kickstand sensor but once i bypassed that this was the only other solution
Took the pump out of the tank and it seemed clean on the outside and boy was i wrong the filter sock was so clogged im suprised it was even able to start

I have a 2001 gsxr1000 with what might be a fuel pump issue. I replaced the pump and didn’t add the sock 🤨 now I’m looking to get a new pump and try this all over again.
The sock keeps big leaves and sticks out. The filter is inside the housing. And you can buy them on ebay now that says for a Hayabusa, but they're all the same. Just use it instead of drilling like we did here.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS thanks. I ordered a rebuild kit. And will add the sock this time. I’ve been having trouble with this bike for 9 months. I finally got it started ( not sure how) and it lasted a week and won’t start again. I cleaned out the tank because I think last weeks rain got in the tank. I learned I have a cheap quick release gas cap. Yes I have a lot going on lol
So the fuel pressure regulator is only protected by the sock mesh filter? If it is I can imagine it getting dirty and clogged leaving it open which will not allow pressure. Or I guess you can take the pump out and clean the regulator every 2 or 3 thousand miles???? Any ideas???????😮
@@natvega1 nowadays they sell the parts on ebay for $25 to just replace the entire housing. So every 10-15 years when it gives you a problem, just buy a new one.
Thanks for the description of the filter housing. helped a ton with my project.
Awesome... Glad our video was able to help you out.
@12m.. well my injectors must be plugs... FI light is steady on right after trying to clean the internal filter... any suggestion how do i make up for my mistake?
Look up the code for the fi light, and then Google "fi code hayabusa" and you'll find a list on a forum somewhere. It'll tell you what's wrong with it.
On my Kawasaki z 750 s, 2006, the symptoms are the same, I replaced the pump and the lower filter, but it still chokes above 5000 revolutions, can I apply the same to my pump housing?
If it looks the same, then probably so.
Please, the fuel flow on my z750 is 300 ml, is that enough flow? Thank you in advance for your answer

@@fieldnegro5620 check the pinned comment.... It's an updated video I did that is way more detailed.
I’ve got an 08 gsxr 600 and was wondering if this can be done on my bike or if it has the replaceable part
It has the replaceable part in it. Go to Partzilla website to order the pickup sock and regulator(entire top unit). Replace those and you're good to go.
I am having a similar problem with my K2 GSXR-750. The bike runs perfect to 10ish rpms but will not go past. I am about to run tests on the fuel pump. How do I know that it is the high pressure/internal fuel filter that is the culprit of the issue? And for example not the pump itself or injectors etc..? Thank you!
Check the updated video I pinned. There's a flow test.
It's rarely ever the pump itself.
team thankyou guys so much....😆you frigging rock life savers
can you do the same video on a 99-00 Hayabusa whenever you get one? I ended up buying a whole new assembly. the 01-07 have different setups for fuel . internal and external. mine is external.
great video tho. 👍🏾
I don't know that they can be repaired this way. They rarely ever come through... And when they do, they're turbo bikes with bigger fuel pumps on them already.
Nice job.... thanks....👏👏👏👏
can I do this on a 05 cbr 600rr ? Canister is the exact same
Worst thing that can happen is you ruin a housing that's not working anyways. So either it works or you got to buy one still.
Why don't you just remove the filter from the pump inside well area? You don't need it anymore if you have an external filter? Otherwise if it gets clogged again, you would still have to remove the fuel pump instead of easy access from the outside?
That sure looks like a lot of work I guess I’ll have to get on it fix it the right way 2004 Suzuki Gsxr 750
An hour of work or $800 for a new fuel pump and housing installed... 🤷🏻♂️
I got a question for you. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure it out. I have a 2005 GSXR 600 new spark plugs air filters . But I’ve been having problems with fuel Hydro locking every time ride it for more than 10 minutes the crank case fills up with fuel. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump with an eBay special. Do you think my regulator is bad because the bike runs fine after I drain the fuel out of the cylinders and crank and put fresh oil in.
Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. You can buy them at Harbor Freight. Then you'll know what the fuel pressure is doing.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS I purchased a fuel pressure regulator. I’m gonna put that on there set it to 43 psi and see if the same thing happens.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS thank you for the response. I know this is a older video. Most people don’t respond back to you when you have questions. I’m glad to see you guys do.

@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS well your videos are very educational. I like them keep it up.
You can also find a new filter for right around $20 and yes for the filter not the pick up sock
You can now. You couldn't get them before.
What is this filter you speak of? The one he bypassing drilling through the housing?
Been chasing a hot start issue with my 2003 Hayabusa. Hoping this will help. Starts fast and easy when cold. Once bike has warmed up it will barely turn over. Wondering if its vapor locking somehow.
Could be any number of things. Make sure the pump is flowing enough, and if not, use this fix. May also be a weak battery or other issues.
Try wrapping your starter with DEI tape or go 24volt
Would this be the reason for my 2003 gsxr 600 to be rough and slow reving kind of bogging from 1k to around 4 to 5k and revs fine up to 11k and then boggs and stops reving?
Probably not.
Thanks man 10k plus, gsxr k2 1000 works, ubrealy help mee

HI CAN I DO THE BYPASS MOD ON 2008 GSXR 1000,I SEE MY PUMP IS DIFFERENT IT SEEMS TO HAVE THE FILTER IN THE SMALL PLASTIC ABOVE THE PUMP
I don't even do the bypass anymore.
But the 07 up 1000 has a different housing. You can buy the part from Partzilla.com
It's inside the upper housing with the regulator.

Do you know that fuel pump socks for that Busa are like three bucks? You had a client on a budget tighter than $3? Oh my gosh.... smh
Can i not just cut the orignal fuel line in half and put an inline filter inbetween?
You can't. It's not a rubber hose.
can you tell me why your inline fuel filter is in backwards... it looks like the outlet is facing toward the right side of the green bike and l got the same filter #86023 and it has the arrow is pointing toward the fuel rail and it will not feed the fuel rail on my 2008 hayabusa. Please respond
@@timlo9361 so if you completely remove the filter, does the fuel flow then?
@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS Yes... l took the filter off to turn it around, and the gas pressure was great ... all over my hand and bike
@@timlo9361 did you flush the pump out after you put it back together, but before you put the external filter on?
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS yes
@@timlo9361 I wonder if you didn't slug the filter. Maybe there was something hung up and it didn't come out when you flushed it.
You can get a cheaper filter at Autozone. They're like $5... I have the part number in the description of the green 1000 video. I'd try to get a new filter and try it again. Because if the fuel flows before you put the filter on, the filter is the issue.

@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUSI'll try to find that
Is this an issue across all years of the gsxr fuel pumps or is it model specific? Great video.
All years and all different brands of fuel injected bikes. The later model suzuki after like 07 has a serviceable part to fix it. They're like $200 for the top part of the housing.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS ive got a 03, its not wanted to start. Injectors are clean, pump is new, regulator is new. Bike still doesnt want to start, but will fire up if i spray starter into the throttle bodies.
@@borialas94 flow test the fuel pump into a measuring cup. In 10 seconds you should have 250ml+ of gas. If not, then this is likely your issue.
Also, make sure the regulator is on the housing. Had one fall off on a customer one time and it wouldn't start at all. Usually if you pull the fuel like and it dumps fuel like an old carburetor bike tank would, then that's a sign of this.
If both of those check good, then something is likely not sending signal to the injectors telling it to fire, if they're definitely clean and flowing good
degreaser I find better for cleaning

Not be science but I ran the pump with the line unhooked and seems like not much came out. It bogs and stalls just the way you explained this bike.
@@TheShadeManGuitar it's most likely stopped up inside the internal filter. But it depends which pump it has. If the bottom where it bolts to the tank is flat, then you have to replace the entire unit. If it's got a bowl at the bottom, it can be modded like this one.

How many kilometres should be replaced
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking... If your question is, how many kilometers should you put on your bike before the filter will stop up? The answer is, there is no specific answer. They just do. Usually more from sitting than actually riding. So less is worse on fuel pumps and tanks.
